nothing has started yet.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 1:27pm
starting in 20 minutes, over by 11pm. I still haven't seen a schedule, but back of tha neck either is or isn't playing.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 1:35pm
yeah, first band on stage at 2.

toggletoggle post by DaveFromTheGrave  at Sep 9,2007 2:20pm
palehorse IS playing? are you sure?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 2:27pm
near defeat is starting now.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 3:01pm
And so begins one of the funnest shows I get to attend on an annual basis. This is the 4th year that they put this on and the 4th year that I'm here taking pictures. This year has mostly just locals. Lucky for us, the tiger's den scene has spawned a crazy amount of hardcore bands, keeping up the quality of larger bands. Looking at the line up, there are plenty of bands that don't have a single breakdown so it should be a good night. A lot of the attendees are young kids and probably are just here for a good show and don't really know about the benefit aspect, but that's what this is all about. One of the very few shows in a year (if not the only) that even I pay to get into.
I was hanging out outside earlier. You know, just talking about hardcore things like mortgages, the housing market, etc.. when my manhood was taking from me. How you ask? Brophy made fun of me. I have been humbled. He let out the secret that I'm always about to go on a hike. After this show, I've got to get to my tent which is a 5 mile hike.

near defeat: good way to start the day. Some where between the fun of the neon hookers and the brutality of in rememberance. I guess I've seen them before, but I forget. People in the audience knew them and at this earlier point in the show were clearly ready to bring home the mosh. Will those same crowd members stand for he whole day? I guess we'll find out later.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 3:38pm
meltdown: the singer was pretty intense singing on that stage. All of their gear was supplied by near defeat. I remember them being atouch more like integrity, but hell, they had plenty of parts were the guitarist pushes down on the neck of the guitar to bend the notes. I love that stuff. I 'm guessing on their own gear, I would probably be fearing for my life a touch more.

I talked a bunch to to the other guy, zack, here shooting who just moved up.

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at Sep 9,2007 3:41pm
In Our Blood is playing? I thought they broke up?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 4:08pm
Idk my bff rose? Brophy is here so I think they are playing.

neon hookers, the: the first note from the guitarist, dave, was so loud. Short and to the point songs. Many more people from the crowd started stepping it up. This is the first band that had a release that a lot of people probably have bought. Ie: more sing alongs. They have a full length now that I have yet to heard.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 4:42pm

bulldog courage: I would have sworn they played here before. Must have been only revenge. This is hardcore like I used to listen to a long time ago. Mostly songs you can sing along to and drink beer to. People only danced for the first part. Mostly cause they are n00bs and fools.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 5:37pm
affiliated: doing their last show. The band was sort of just pieced together and liquored up to do a last show. It was so sloppy and messy. They chugged tequila in between each song, but everyone had a good time. Including the dudes on stage that pulled off the bottle while affiliated was playing. The singer went on a drunken 5 minute ramble about to catch a predator. After leaving the stage, they played one last song starting before the whole bandhey got bck on stage even. this is how most bands would dream their last show would go down. to the members of affiliated, it will seem like a dream. well, the parts that they remembe anyhow.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 5:45pm
this place smells like tequila and break up shows. 9 bands left in 6 hours.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 6:24pm
a loss for words: there were the usual set of girls in the front singing along with them. It also took them a bunch of times yelling at the crowd before they came to the front to participate. It is lame the number of people who didn't come in to see them. Anyhow, by the end of their set, the front was popping. at that point they set out a song to rttp. For their lasgt song, pat (ex-botn) and the singer of energy took the stage. Epic sing along and stage mosh. Pat needs to get into a studio prject or something.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 7:02pm
energy: didn't these guys break up a week ago? Guess not. Rumor I that they have had a rough couple of weeks. I really like their misfits cover. Those danzig vocals influence all the vocals. his voice is almost unbreakable.
Fun set. The people in the front kept alternating between bringing the mosh and singing along. Energy has a lot of heavier parts.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 8:26pm
25 ta life: at the beginning of their set, the room was bare. By the end, there was enough people to toss a hoe-down in the back of the room. During cucified, some kid got the thrill of his life, grabbing the mic to sing along.. Um.. Old school style.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 8:33pm
new lows: I went outside to load up on some coffee while hey were setting up and didn't know what band was next. What a surprise when I got back to the top of the stairs, but on of the best new bands out there. They completely ruled. More of a punk/hardcore band.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 8:58pm
trapped under ice: they sounded really tight and had one of the most massive sounds thus far. I guess the are from MD. The singer flailed around a bunch on stage. People moshed, but I couldn't see anything cause it was so dark.

Anton Rough: they are some sort of "fake" band thing. Trapped under ice guys switched up, the affiliated singer went on bass (but they turned it off), and someone else got on the mic. It was all oer so quickly.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 9:35pm
It's weird, there are so many missing faces from the upstairs. I see a lot of them the few times I've gone downstairs, but there seems to be a lot of missing people.

shere khan: awsome and powerful sound. These guys are all in very successful bands, but come together in a shere khan supergroup. Honestly, I haven't listened to the ep in a long time and I think they have all new stuff out. Pretty much I didn't know any of the songs, but th crowd did so 2 points for them. Jonathan told us 2 stories in between the songs. Hilarious antics from his highschool. Their set was short.

toggletoggle post by tbone_r nli at Sep 9,2007 10:00pm
how many bands left?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 9,2007 10:54pm
one, dbd as far as I know.. they have like 8 minutes to play! I hope taco bell doesn't close on me. if it does, I shall weep all the way home. I needmy fourth meal. a meal which today is more like second meal.

colin of arabia: such a topshelf band. I don't know why, but there were a lot of long pauses in between songs with no witty or informative stories. I think colin needs to get a subscription to reader's digest. Look for future installments of colin banter to include stories of his first dog, recipes for rasberry scones, and the farmers weather forcast. He did ask the other photographer if he shot for rolling stone cause he didn't want to end up there and then told me it was cool. I should said that I'm now almost famous, but I didn't think that quick. They did a blood for blood cover, but I couldn't hear the vocals to know what was going on. Nick gave up his throne right before that for a fill in drummer.

black my heart: wheeler's my hero. No, he didn't play with BMH, but that hardly mattered. He gave me pizza. And at this point does it really matter who is real "in" BMH? Do the songs and kids will dance. Jonathan (obw) filled in on vocals, 2 other fill ins. Basically, you got 25% BMH. The crowd proved my theroy correct. They sang along like they were getting at least 60% of BMH.

the "surprises" didn't happen for verious reasons. I wished attitude played. they weren't doing anything today either but waiting around and tben driving back home.

One of the band members.

Edit:

I guess they are continuing, but the drummer and both guitarists quit and Sweeny (the old bassist) is playing guitar.

I know their new guitarist. He's an alright dude, not sure if he can write hardcore though.

And they don't have a drummer.

If they do manage to rebound themselves, their new music will probably be much more metalcore.

Palehorse is broken up and one of the members of IOB(Inourblood) who was saposed to play his last show with them never showed and their new member didn't know enough songs yet! You know what sucks? How Rob Lind refused to get his heroin abusive ass outta bed,Because if he did,Him and Buddah were going to do BFB songs with the members of Colin and Deathb4Dishonor

that would have ruled.
I thought that rob was dead.
After seeing him completely wasted for Ramallah's set, then going away (rehab) and coming back completely clean and healthy looking (drugs and alcohol free), I thought that he was going to be set. then I watched the video from europe where he drank after not for a long time and I knew it was downhill after that.
he is an endless cycle.
10 mildly messed up
20 fucked up
30 mildly messed up and says he's going away to clean himself up
40 clean
50 IF NOT dead THEN GOTO 10
