All three, actually. They CHUGGED the whole song which I liken to slapping Dio himself in the ballsack. The video was retarded and struck me as them trying to be ironic the same way swoopy haired emo kids throw the horns and wear studded belts and pretend to like whatever band is on the tightest 80's metal T-shirt they can find, all while listening to The Yellow Card or Color purple is like you or whatever. AND the band sucks in general.

I can't wait for all the metal core kids to start snatching up Dio shirts and insisting they've "always loved Dio, man". Or better yet, when people who ACTUALLY like Dio get stopped by scene girls who point and cry, "Yeeeah Dio, do you like that Killswitch cover!?!"

I agree. I personally don't like it. It's all about the almighty dollar. It's for the kids. Maybe they'll actually buy a Dio CD. That is not a bad thing.

firstly, i hate videos in general - they never make sense and never add anything positive to a song. but i understand your point about influence and respect towards an original artist when covering them. although it seemed to me that they just played the song stylisticly more similar to their music - so if you hate their style of music and the band itself, obviously you'll think its a shitty cover. however, i did just listen to both songs in a row and i must say that despite chugging and turning one part into a breakdown they were pretty accurate... right down to the arrangement and the tuning. howard has just about the same range has dio too ...only not nearly as awesome. also i guess Adam D's solo wasnt as epic but he did use a couple of the original licks i noticed.

I actually liked the cover tune. I didn't really care for the video at all, but then again like other people, I won't pay attention to any music video.

Man i have loved Dio since Black Sabbath. you don't have to have permission per say to record a cover song. We covered Metallica and I haven't had that little treasure troll, Lars on my doorstep yet. the metalcore-ing of it was kinda cheesy, but i was surprised/impressed with howard's falsetto vocals at the end

plus i thought the video was real funny

i still say let em do what they want. they had a fun time covering a classic song in their own vein. i think it's a good song overall, but if you're expecting a recreation of the original you're going to be disappointed, especially if you hate radio-friendly metalcore.

polaris' cover IS way better though. simply because it's the original arrangement and olivia's voice is retardedly powerful

1. I enjoy the cover and think they did a pretty good job keeping it the same feel but yet adding their own flair to the song.

2. The video is awesome, there I've said it. How can you people take the actual "Holy Diver" video by Dio seriously? The KSE version was just as ridiculous yet they get bashed for it. Both videos were cheesy as hell I mean c'mon guys. Have a little sense of humor and stop taking everything so seriously. It's a music video not an oscar winning movie.

BTW, I definitely hadn't bothered to listen to this turd before, but I just gave it a whirl. The singer does a good job with the clean vocals - that's it. The scream is inappropriate, and the instrumentation is terrible. Not terrible like they can't play the notes, terrible like they have no taste whatsoever, and the changes they made detract from the song. F-

But other than that its not heavy metal to my ears. Its trendy money making garbage for the sheep. I feel they really need to call it quits and just let the real metal bands take over.
