Took a road trip last week. I seriously recomend this to anyone who is looking for a cheap vacation. its a shit ton of driving, but well fucking worth it as you can see from the pictures. you end up at the site where leif eirikson landed in l'ans aux meadows newfoundland. there is a recreated viking village, museum, and the sod foundations of the viking camp.

how long did it take you to get there? i'd love to do something like that.

13 hours to the ferry, 6 hour ferry ride to newfoundland, 10 hours to l'ans aux meadows although i took my time and stopped a lot.

i think my total milage was like 2760 something for the whole trip

that's awesome. i was just telling someone the other day that i really want to go to l'anse aux meadows possibly next summer. after reading about your trip, i am definitely going to do it.

go later in the summer like late august, they get the aurora 280 days a year there with late august through september being the most active. i found the best party spot ever up there. its right off of rte 436 on the way to l'anse aux meadows. it was signed too, something pond recreation park i can't remember exactly. but it would be rather bad ass to party under the northern lights at this spot. i didn't get to see them unfortunately but even when they aren't out its so fucking dark out there the stars are amazing.
