I HOPE PEOPLE COME I HATE SUMMER SHOWS! |
I wish I knew about this like 2 weeks ago before we booked a show.
I've been wanting to see Engineer for over a year now. |
leaving in like 10 minutes |
Leaving right now....am I going to make it...I'm like an hour and a half away...what times does this end? |
ends at 10 pm.
on band has already played. the second is setting up.
if you left when you posted, you should catch 2 1/2 bands. |
tombs: excellent stuff. I find that mike hill's bands are very loud, yet very minimal. Even in the intersparced parts of songs, things aren't boring at all. This minimal approach (bass/guitar/drum) works really well.
helm, the: they were excellent. I kept thinking they sounded like BSI and then I turn around and Ryan (ex-bsi) is there. an odd coninsidence. Some of the parts reminded me of a rockier anodyne and at other times, architect. Very animated. the rocky parts will make a good tranistion to the transistor transistor set. |

go to the providence show tomorrow!
providence turners, 118 glenbridge ave, 8 PM, $8
same line-up, no the helms, plus wasteland and playgirl (she rides). definitely the better show (and cheaper).
would've gone tonight if it weren't for my having work at 5 AM. |
transistor transistor: a good bit of rock for the evening. a shortened set from the last time I saw them, but it seemed like it was almost all the same songs. Shame that one of the mics wasn't loud enough. You couldn't hear anything from it. It always cracks me up when they say they are from NH. Derry pride. |
engineer: so good and soo loud. I think the last time I saw them was the BCCA or the library. Their music is so in ya face. It has once again been injected back into my brain exactly with BMA signed this band. The last time I sw them, it feels like they had lights or something unfortunantely this time, the lights stayed on. |
coliseum: their bassist almost missed their set. Somehow, the 7-11 turned out to be a 1 1/2 hr trip. Before they went on, they said that they love the photographers, but didn't want it to be a photoshoot like the engineer set. I hung band behind the people and shot. They rocked. Same speeches/songs as last time. |
fuck wish I had gone to this... (was looking up the last times the Helm played Boston) |
