hey, I'm getting married in January, and I'm looking for a DJ -- does anyone have any suggestions.

The wedding will be in Warwick Rhode Island. I'm looking for the type of DJ that can basically spin regular average songs. Nothing crazy. Some basic announcements (ie: introducing people, cutting the cake) and most importantly, the type of DJ that is in the background. Not shooting his/her mouth off every song.

Incidentally, I'm not looking for someone that will play metal. As far as I'm concerned, weddings should have generic songs. (If it's not Ghoul, Nunslaughter nor Goreality, what's the point?)

So if anyone has had a wedding / knows someone who has had a decent DJ at a wedding etc... let me know.

You should hire the Rev and his succubus to take photos! They do awesome work!

weddings are expensive. I used to dj a few here and there . I don't have the equipment anymore and it was a pain in the ass. I may be able to look into that for you, I only know DJ's from NH/MA though, So I don't know what they would charge to come to RI. I'd say base price probably around $500 and up.

I just went to a wedding over the weekend who had a pretty good dj. The bride and groom walked out to reign in blood. Best wedding I've been to. That was pretty much the only metal song he played (by request) but all the songs were picked by the marrying couple. I'll try and get his name. I should be able to remember but, hey it was a good friends wedding so....memory serves me intoxicated.

it would be hilarious if rich did it cause you 2 could switch places and people wouldn't know.

If you want, I'll ask my sister who she got for her wedding. She's the type of person who researches the fuck out of even the smallest little detail and did hours of research. Her DJ was pretty good. And he didn't give any annoying speeches or do any Chicken Dance bullshit either.

Forget it, I would never allow that. I would get all pissed off when I noticed my wife having a better time with Rich.

I definitely like having suggestions. thanks. I just got in late from work. Tomorrow I'll look at names and email a couple of posters. Thanks a lot. Anyone else want to suggest names, go right ahead....
