New site? Maybe some day.

i dunnnnoooo. who is playing the joker? heath ledger? thats gay. there is no need to remake a role that has already been dominated by Jack Nicholson. |
|
I dunno, I think the more realistic grotesque disfigured style for the Joker might be cool. Batman Begins was fucking killer so I'll give this one a shot. |
|
I'm with Rich on this. I think Batman Begins was hands down the best Batman flick ever. I think they will keep this ball rolling into a great series and the Joker will be closer to the comic then Jack-O's Joker was. (Even if he did a really good job with that).
I have a feeling he will be one sick fucking maniac.
Granted, looking at that pic got me thinking maybe it wouldn't have been too bad if Robin Williams had been the guy they cast as the Joker. He was rumored to have been one of the top picks to play him. He plays a good psycho in movies like 24 Hour Photo, Insomnia, ect. |

One Hour Photo was fucking awesome. the movie itself was amazing, but Robin Williams dominated in acting. a very under appreciated movie.

Personally I think that Heath Ledger was a good choice. Look at the guy's smile to begin with. I would like to think thats the reason why they wanted Jack Nicholson is because of his smile. |
|
Jack Nicholson did a great job with the script he was given, and defined the role on screen in many peoples' eyes, but he in no way captured the Joker from the comics - he couldn't have, that character wasn't in the Tim Burton movie. What's more, as much ass as he did kick in the role, Nicholson just wasn't a good fit for the part. Heath Ledger will have a vastly superior script to work with (if Batman Begins was any indication), and is a closer fit in many ways to the Joker of the comics, so he will be a better Joker.
Edit: And, yes - Robin Williams would have been a better fit for the part in the Tim Burton flick. Always wanted to see what he would have done with it; I have a feeling he would have blown Nicholson out of the water. |

I'm pretty pumped for this |

they picked ledger because he becomes insanely dedicated to his roles.
heath ledger became the joker and killed himself before he took over the world. |

Got my tickets for this thursday night. Will be going directly after getting hammered at Metal Thursday. |
|
Nicholson was amazing as the Joker. The two Burton movies kicked ass.
Schumacher is a fucking hack and ruined what could have been a cool performance by Carrey as the Riddler in Batman Forever with his terrible directing style. I'm not gonna even talk about Batman and Robin. Yet I still can enjoy these because the character of Batman is just too awesome.
I'm gonna catch this at an Imax this weekend and hope to be fucked up on drugs at the time. |
|
I'm gonna try and find a midnight showing tonight. I don't really want to wait for this.
I'm really enjoying the abundance of "fun" movies that have been coming out lately. You know, the one's you know aren't oscar worthy but you still enjoy because they're made well.
Not the kinds that are shittily(yes, "shittily") made, yet they're still a small guilty pleasure. |
|
i was told that Christian Bale wasn't allowed to ride on the new batmobile because it was so god damn dangerous. He said he kinda felt silly about it... and i was also told that Heath Ledger was fucking sick as the Joker. |
|
I want to see this really bad, but I must see Batman Begins first. |
|
Only Jesus would be a better joker than Heath |
