New site? Maybe some day.
Just on DoD computers, they can use them on their own. Still pretty fucked up, though...taking away the few pleasures they have. My friend's husband had her set up a myspace so he could see pictures of her and his son and stay updated...good thing he has his own computer. |
It's not a huge loss. there are 500 million other ways and websites they can use to comunicate and share videos and pictures. |
And I'm sure they'll block those, too. And we wonder why soldiers were pyramid stacking prisoners for fun. |
That was back when they HAD myspace. |
They blocked gayspace and shit like that because people often broadcast shit that they shouldn't be sending out for the world to see. This goes especially for guys in Iraq, people giving out hints about their patrols and shit is no good considering fuckin hajji uses the interweb as well. My cousin wrote some shit on this page we have for him and one of his buddies went on there and warned him about it. |

haha, the government is taking away more of the freedom they've told the soldiers they're fighting for. |

I'll agree with that. |

They're doing it for the security and safety of troops. I mean, the resistance over there uses the internets and looks for any kind of loose intelligence they can find.
What if some dude in the army writes on myspace "yeah tomorrow we'll be heading out to (insert random place)"
Somehow it will end up in the wrong place and his whole platoon will get bombed the next day.
the are doing it to control information. they will claim it is about security and intel, but it's more about the stupid shit and video of soldiers stripping or shocking balls. BTW, the DOD is using youtube itself. |
