i dont really think devourment is overated.....i like breakedowns so i like them....there not the type of band that shoots for technicality evan tho in my opinion they have a great drummer.....there just all about breakedowns....not over rated just fun to listen to or if you lucky see live...skinless on the other hand is over rated...has anyone seen that new music video of them..ohman

Devourment isnt overrated. A lot of people give them shit now because they have gained a high status. Devourment basically took the slam death metal style and made it more intense and more brutal. Rubens vocals were ultra guttural and extremely inhuman. The only problem I think that devourment caused is that there are a ton of sub par spin offs. Devourment wasnt ment to be technical,and they werent there to show case their talent. They just made extremely brutal and extremely catchy death metal.
