Gary Thorne, one of the Orioles announcers, claimed that Doug Mirabelli told him the bloody sock was faked, and took it upon himself to mention it during last night's broadcast. Mirabelli was pissed when he found out.

i really really doubt that he painted on red paint that would later somehow turn brown like blood does, and even if he did, his ankle was still hanging by a thread when pitched, he still won the game, and the red sox still won the world series. have fun in 4th place, gary thorne.
