The movies are pretty well done, but I'm going to have to be "that guy" and say the books blow the movies clean out of the water (though the movies are only based on the first book for the most part). Seeing the new one on the big screen is going to be killer though!

is there more than one book? besides nightwatch? I could have sworn there was only one book ant it was three parts? the book ends with the whole thing being an ordeal about the boss and the owl lady and how he is trying to get her punishment revoked, and it pretty much ends in some kinda romance type way.

if there is more books than just nightwatch I will cream, cause that is really a good book.

time to google it

It's a trilogy: Night Watch, Day Watch, Dusk Watch (and supposedly there will be a fourth book called Dawn Watch). Day Watch just came out in English in March and Dusk Watch is coming soon (July maybe?). The movies are only based on the three parts of the book Night Watch (mostly), so instead of the new movie being called Day Watch, it should be called Night Watch II. I'm not sure why they are doing that, but it's the same type of thing that the Jason Bourne books/movies are doing.

Unfortunately, the third movie is going to be in English and be about an American Night Watch office, so I'm not sure how they are going to work that in with the story arc.

sounds lame about the movies, but nonetheless they will most likely be good

i just watched the last ten minutes of Night watch starring Nick Nolte, Ewan McGreggor and Patricia Arquette... is that the same one relating to this thread?

hahah I know there are two nightwatch american movies. but the russian ones are much better, and not remakes or anything.

ps I just started rereading nightwatch, even better, and I bought daywatch, the book.

Nice! You'll definitely recognize some elements from the Day Watch book that were used in the first Night Watch movie. I get more and more stoked for the new movie, I hope the Inquisitor turns out to be as much as a badass as he is in the book.
