It's Official: CANNIBAL CORPSE Are The Top-Selling Death Metal Band Of The
SoundScan Era CANNIBAL CORPSE have sold more albums in the U.S. during the
SoundScan era than any other death metal band, according to the figures
obtained by BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

Although the SoundScan numbers are generally indicative of the bands'
overall popularity, they are misleading in the sense that many of the
veteran death metal groups' early efforts were issued prior to the start of
the SoundScan era (May 25, 1991).

The following are the total sales figures for several of the genre's
forerunners, according to Nielsen SoundScan (all numbers include any DVD and
VHS releases, where applicable):

CANNIBAL CORPSE: 558,929
DEICIDE: 481,131
MORBID ANGEL: 445,147
SIX FEET UNDER: 370,660
OBITUARY: 368,616
DEATH: 368,184
NAPALM DEATH: 367,654
CARCASS: 220,734
ENTOMBED: 198,764

The top-selling death metal albums of the SoundScan era are as follows:

MORBID ANGEL - "Covenant" (1993): 127,154

BEYOND THE EMBRACE - Update from Oscar Gouveia:
"We had a great time performing and hanging at the Fest with all our
friends. We had a great time slot on Friday night thanks to Scott Lee at
Mass concerts. One thing that worked out in our favor was that the main
stage was delayed by an hour which meant that Superjoint Ritual didn't go on
until we were done, so we had an extra big crowd and an extra big response
from them all."

ARMORED SAINT update from Joey Vera:
"Anyway, just a quick update on the progress on the new Saint DVD I'm
working on: This new DVD will feature Armored Saint during the years
1991-2002. Mostly comprised of live bootleg videos from various tours, the
total running program will be approximately an hour and 15 minutes. As of
now I'm working on including 12 songs and various offstage foolishness
interspersed throughout. The editing should be done in Mid December and I'll
give out the complete track listing at that time.

Also going to be included on the DVD's special features will be both
production videos "Reign of Fire" and "Last Train Home", a Bloopers segment
of the band screwing up video program ID's, a special look at our really
exciting soundchecks, A photo gallery and more which has not been confirmed
yet. The yet untitled DVD should be out in late Spring 2004.

Good day Heavilites, Heavilies, Heaviloos & Heavilers The latest news hot
off the presses beep-beep-beep-beep-beep-beep. We spent the weekend at Jonny
B's house/studio recording pre production songs for our 2nd CD coming out in
the spring. We will be in the studio in January with Devin Townsend up in
Vancouver, Canada. On the other side of things we just auctioned off Corey's
beard for 45 cents to a midget at Kryptonite. She is using it for
paintbrushes to paint a picture of Corey for her bedroom. Life is funny like
that.

VOMITORY
Vomitory will enter Studio Kuling in Örebro, Sweden on December 8th together
with producer Henrik Larsson to record the band's fifth assault, "PRIMAL
MASSACRE". For two weeks they will torture the studio equipment with their
new, bloody and reeking pieces of rotten flesh! The mixing will take place
in January in Helsingborg, Sweden with Henrik Larsson behind the mixing
board. Juanjo Castellano will be making the killer artwork for "PRIMAL
MASSACRE".
