for some reason i thought Face Full of Shotgun was on this.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 7,2007 3:26pm
unless they are on the flyer, it isnt popping up.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Feb 7,2007 3:28pm
yes they are on this show

hey moe did you know that WOOS was nominated for "best metal act" in the wormtown sound awards?

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Feb 7,2007 3:29pm
what? hahaha, no
we havent played a show since july

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Feb 7,2007 3:31pm
weird

you're up against:
skulltoboggan(who aren't "metal" but will win)
kultur(are the most metal band in the list and will come close to winning)
standard deviation(my sister's ex-band that is NOT metal whatsoever)
frozen(who i wasn't even aware played out around here that much)

these people really know what they're talking about

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Feb 7,2007 3:52pm
(sic)
SOOOO, who's comin?

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Feb 7,2007 3:55pm

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Feb 7,2007 3:56pm

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Feb 7,2007 5:14pm

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Feb 7,2007 9:29pm

the music on the old stuff is better, but Jesse talked to much for my taste. And his lyrics were sub-par and sophomoric, so the new guy and new direction is something I'm happy with. The new guy seems to have little range in his screams, but his cleans are ok and his parts are sweet.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Feb 7,2007 11:33pm
i dont think either of their singers had ANY range at all
mostly mids
and the new guys lyrics are just cheese if not more than Jesse

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 7,2007 11:58pm
this show will rule. the human abstract got 100000000x better.

does anyone know what time the first band starts?

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Feb 20,2007 5:35pm
i have a feeling that it would be right after doors, not an hour after doors like most shows, as this place usually has to be done wicked early(like 10-1030ish)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 20,2007 5:43pm edited Feb 20,2007 5:54pm
doors are at 7pm.

awesome show so far. MS setting up.

toggletoggle post by Murph nli at Feb 20,2007 11:53pm
WOOS and Misery Signals were fantastic

WOOS = super heavy and super rockin (new stuff sounds excellent)

Misery Signals = Unbelievably tight for the polyrhythmic things they do, and what a unique sense of harmony they employ...their drummer is the epitome of tasteful

cool show, not that many people, lots of retarded kids, saw some of them gittin' stoopid

mrs moe seems very nice, good job moe, "high-five"

that church was sweet, but next time rev, i gotta check out that acrylic altar

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 21,2007 1:25am
maghan (it's got some weird spelling with like 13 H's) is cool. I don't see her that often and when her and carina see each other, they just bump b00bs together like they are playing bumper cars, but with their b00bs.

toggletoggle post by Murph nli at Feb 21,2007 1:47am
I see a different wonder of life
my girl has no boobs but an absolutely dominating ass
an ass that will take over the world, starting with small family restaurants
so when at a bar, and she dances amongst the ladies, its like a "whose ass will win" contest, where her ass takes all

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 21,2007 1:50am

pssht, I don't interrupt rockstars in their element, yo.

Can anyone answer me a question. Did you guys see that little little dude at the show. He's got blond hair I think and a terrible complexion. I've seen him at so many shows, and he's the smallest dude, but he's always in the front, right in the warzone, just doin his thing.

He's like bong boy, always present when disaster strikes.

are you talking about little james? (the dude that took a guitar to the face at FASSW during metalfest)

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Feb 21,2007 10:01am
Murph, if that was little James, he used to go to a bunch of our shows, actually still does. Jake talks to him, which is funny because of Jake's ironic fear of the smallfolk.

Moe, I'm really sorry I couldn't go. Slowcooker broke and I had to scramble to finish cooking with a new shittier method. Gayest reason to miss show ever.

this show was by far the awesomest i've been to in a while, just because no one was gettin into testosterone-fueled brawls and crap. that shit is so annoying. also it was nice to meet "ryan" hahhah (murph) *btw, my name is meghann, but if you want, i'll let you call me mrs. m0e just cuz no one has ever called me that before, but i generally dislike being referred to as someone's significant other*... anyways, props to the new WOOS stringsd00d, rob (i think??) and also the whole WOOS gang for rockin'. oh yeah and nate's van is cool, ladies, don't fear the johnson haha. also, misery signals is TITE live ;) *hi rev!* tell carina's b00bs i said hi!

Yea the show was great last night! Definitely as good as a first show with WOOS as I could as for. All the other bands were great as well. Misery Signals really surprised me. Thanks to all that came out , it was a great time.

this show left me in a such a great mood
my ankle hurts like hell, but i'm feelin great

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Feb 21,2007 2:29pm
they really spiffed that place up, huh? i like the lights on the sides of the room instead of the overhead bland lighting

the huge banner and tons of gear didn't hurt the atmosphere either

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Feb 21,2007 2:35pm
well, all the bands except for the opener had their own light setup so yea, hell we even had a fog machine

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Feb 21,2007 2:39pm
i meant just the basic lighting stuff they had done...there were some hardwired on each wall facing the stage which was more than enough for a place like that

did they switch booking agents or something? i feel as if i had heard that they got a new guy who does everything there

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Feb 21,2007 2:40pm
isn't the tour package on tour with all that remains?
so i guess misery signals is still good with or without jessie?

toggletoggle post by RobKing at Feb 21,2007 3:03pm
This dude Joe with Grand Unified does the shows there now. He's legit and professional. He does all the bigger shows there now.

And yea , all the lighting stuff was done by all the bands themselves.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Feb 21,2007 3:32pm
all that remains wasnt ont hat date and the new guy was ok...not bad, good stage presence...i felt the some of the songs off mirrors were kinda out of place in a live setting, simply because they're not as high energy as the older stuff
THEY WONT PLAY ANYTHING OFF THE EP, i was upset about that

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Feb 21,2007 3:38pm

no more echo's or lie captive shits wack!

toggletoggle post by gagreflex at Feb 21,2007 10:32pm
During Misery Signals, some kid bit straight through his lip and trailed blood down the stairwell. I think he lost a lot of blood judging by all the blood soaked paper towels in the men's room. Another thing I saw was some kid who was super excited while MS was setting up. Two songs into their set I turn around and he has a traumatized look on his face while holding his bloody nose. Poor guy.

I was there, and I thought they were sweet.

But, since my usual standing posture dictates I cross my arms and slant my stance, and I'm outfitted in tight jeans and "scenester" look, one might think I disapproved.

Much to the contrary, they were good, I'm just a jackass.

I definitely would be a scenester fruitcake, even though I'm a fruitcake cause I'm a huge raging H-mo.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 23,2007 8:29pm
yeah you are.

face full of shotgun: I was surprised that they were on the bill. since they are not only heavy, but also technical, ths place's shape is the worse for them. The high ceiling just muddled out the techy parts and all the blast beats over lapped. still, it was cool to see them. But they sounded better in ralphs.

war on our shores: awesome seeing the dudes from THH together again. The bands not bad either. Nate's vocie boomed pretty loud in that place. I kept blowing out his skin in the shots too. The lights from the stage blinded the crap out of me. When they said turn all the house lights out, I knew their set was going to be trouble.

human abstract, the: not quite as good as the last time I saw them, but pretty close. The level of playing skillz is push to the front of every part of their songs. Not many people dancing or anything, but a lot of people standing there being wicked impressed.

misery signals: the new guy was different and all, but sang most of the full length perfectly. People were piling up in the front of the stage during most of their songs. I started the show in the front, right there in the mix of things, but slid to the side of the stage when the stage divers started. I looked to my side and saw matt (ex-byd) pop up on the top of the crowd. I also think that he jumped off the top of the PA too.

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Feb 23,2007 8:37pm
more big shows need to go through that place...it's built perfectly for it(besides the ceilings which don't facilitate good sound)

i suppose they could hang sound-proofing or something but that might detract from the unique vibe it has

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Feb 24,2007 12:51pm
i think with a decent enough PA that place can sound good...case in point that night...i heard that was the sound guy from the palladium upstairs

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 24,2007 12:57pm
yes it was.
