Groundbreaking Japanese act SIGH have revealed the artwork for their 7th studio album, titled Hangman’s Hymn, due out later this year on The End Records. You can view it online here ----> http://www.theendrecords.com/label/images/stories/covers/sigh_hangmanshymn_large.jpg.

“This is by far the best SIGH album we have done - from the production to the songwriting. We’re proud of the results,” states frontman Mirai Kawashima. “We hope our fans embrace what we have done with our music this time around as their support has always been great for SIGH.”

The album was recorded at Studio Moopies with engineer Takamichi Osada and the band handling production duties. The album features guest appearances from:

Rob Urbinati (Sacrifice) - Guitar solo on the track “The Master Malice”
Aurielle Gregory (ex-Giant Squid) - Female vocals on the track “The Master Malice”
Tim Conroy (ex-Giant Squid) – Trumpet used/manipulated on various tracks
Steven Sagala (Enforsaken) – Vocals used/manipulated on various tracks

An mp3 for the song “Death With Dishonour” has been made available for dowload here---> http://media.theendrecords.com/deathbeforedishonour.mp3

In other SIGH news, the band has been invited to play this year’s Inferno Festival, which is scheduled to take place April 5-7 at the Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway. Other bands scheduled to play include a reunited IMMORTAL, ZYKLON, SUFFOCATION, and TIAMAT.

Sigh

we were listening to Sigh the other day at the space and I was just thinking that they're about due for a new album. Sick

I downloaded their first album 'Scorn Defeat' earlier today - pretty good stuff. Thier later work is a little harder for me to get into, since it's not really metal as much as a trippy blend of all kinds of weird shit. Not bad though; really takes an open mind (or hallucinogenic drugs!) to appreciate it.

what I'm really stoked for about this album in particular is that Rob Urbinati from Canada's Sacrficie did a guest solo on a song. Every Sigh album I love though, so i'll highly enjoy all of it.

I think it's best titled album I've ever heard, only cause it truly does feel like what it says it is.
