Wal-Mart's $1 billion problem

The world's biggest retailer is experimenting with a green building strategy aimed at cutting stores' energy use by 30% over three years.

"Wal-Mart is the nation's largest private energy user. Each of the discount giant's 2,074 supercenters uses an average of 1.5 million kilowatt-hours per year; combined, that's enough to power Chile."

that's just amazing

ok...maybe it really is a wal-mart cause since they'll save a ton of money...but the fact that they'll be using 30% less energy every year is astounding, considering how much they actually use

I don't shop at Wal-Mart if I can help it, but I got a gift card for xmas and went there last night to buy stuff for the new apartment and man...I wish I could shop there without hating myself. Shit's CHEAP!

i tried to buy a blender at my local walmart (it's a SUPER walmart....takes like 6 minutes to walk from one side of the store to the other). They didn't have any. NONE. not at all. not a single fucking blender. I couldnt believe myself. i went over to kmart and bought one. they had like 8 to choose from and i got a nice one for 30 bucks.

I go to K-Mart all the time. My only damage with them is they have like 3 employees per store and you can never fucking find one.

I went to a Super Wal-Mart last night...fucking ridiculous. It took half an hour to find the fucking cat litter.

oh and also....funny story about that super walmart by me. When it first opened, within the first 2 months they had to fire almost all of the employees due to theft. i knew the dude who was a security guy there. he said they didnt give a shit about who they hired. they barely even interviewed or looked at them. they just hired people and then fired them when it didnt work out.

There was an empty box of ring-dings in the bathroom last night. Some fat bitch must have been hungry.

ive discovered that Walmart has the most interesting menagerie of disgusting filth pigs working there. it's like, if you have been in jail for extended periods of time, dont bathe, dont speak, don't have arms, don't know your own name, don't have a pronounceable name, don't have any redeeming human qualitys.....bam Walmarts all over your ass.

I live within walking distance of a regular Wal-Mart and avoid it like the fucking plague. Last week or so I went to the super one in Westerly to see what it was like and I left disturbed at the thought of a full grocery store inside a giant furnished warehouse but was proud of myself for not buying anything.

Isn't that cute, they're trying to look green...too bad it's just to distract from all the other horrible shit they do. Fuck Walmart.

Wal-Mart believes in turning its overseas labor green...in the face with sickness!

*ba dum tshhhh*

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Jan 8,2007 3:27pm

I go to Walmart for laughs. My favorite game is "count the sweatpants."
I actually hold my breath when passing some of these people. Who knows what they're carrying...

I play count the mullets, fe-mullets count for 2.
