Does anyone else have the problem that iTunes doesn't recognize your player? It comes up in My Computer, everything is connected right, but I have to restart the computer and iTunes, uninstall, etc like 20 times before it will recognize my iPod. I finally got it last night, and today it's not working again. I did everything it says to do in the "help" on the website, I'm not sure what's going on. Anyone have any idea?

yeah, I have to install/uninstall and it works finally...

This is seriously the worst program I've ever encountered.

It's magically working again. Evil program.

there is just some deal with the windows enviroment that I'm sure the mac world doesn't have. I've never hooked this thing up to a mac... though maybe I should

It's easy as pie with a Mac. Just plug it in, register, and go.

there is some synching issue. not sure what it is.

toggletoggle post by pam nli at Dec 27,2006 1:54pm
It's worth the annoyance, though.

I just got a 60GB Creative Zen Vision and tried using the included synching software but i don't really like it. So i tried using windows media player.....freaking amazing. It's like a whole new world ive never experienced before. I used to dispise WMP because i just didnt like how it works. But it synchs like a dream to my Zen.

I just got my older daughter a nano, and dl'd iTunes for xmas, and the only prob/complaint I have so far , is when yourip a cd, it wont x-fer to the iPod until you shut iTunes off and restart it.
So far......sigh.

How the hell do the internal batteries hold up????

I fear technology.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Dec 27,2006 2:45pm
wmp has always been my favorite player for reproduction value. Its pretty 'tr00' and unbiased as far as players go.
WMP 11 is cool, I just dld that last night too.

I use anapod by redchair, dont have any problems

If you use Winamp, I'd recommend ml Ipod (http://www.mlipod.com). I had the same problem with ITunes if I plugged my Ipod into a USB hub. And if you're real adventurous, you can forego the whole IPod software and run linux on it. http://ipodlinux.org/

I'll have to look into that, I only use winamp. Thanks, man.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Dec 28,2006 4:25pm
I use winamp for all my music, WMP11 for all my video (I have plugins for real & quicktime) but xferring to my iPod (the wife got me a brand new 80GB for x-mas, w00t!) I use iTunes (because winamp won't transfer video and it'll corrupt my library db on my iPod (WTF?!?!)

there is actually an "Ipod for dummies" book out. I have yet to read it, but it might set you on the right path. My fix: wait until one of your friends is online, then bug the shit outta them for 2 hours straight while they walk you through the process, step by step, on aim.*cough, cough*(insert you B.I.L here____)
