So I applied for school in the spring back in october (4th).

Didn't hear anything, so i waited and waited and waited.

My mother knew I was waiting to see if I got accepted or not.

I called the school probably 200 itmes over the past few months but no one could help me because it's all students answering the phones there and they don't know shit. no one ever returns phone calls, etc.

I'm going through her stack of bills to find the number for verizon to call the DSL people and I see my acceptence letter postmarked november 15th sitting there, unpened.


WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH THAT CUNT?

It sais right on the letter the last day to comply and arrange an orientation was december 14th.


So, now I can't go to school.


She knew, she fucking knew I needed it. She knew I was waiting for it, and not only did she not give a fuck, she takes MY mail like it's fucking hers.

To add insult to injury, I got a 900$ settlement check from work and she asked if I could loan her some money for xmas shopping. I said fine how much, she said the whole thing.

So I let her talking me into loaning her 900 dollars for what I thought were xmas gifts.

after a short phone call to my sister asking where my mother is so I can yell at her for ruining my chances of going to college, my sister lets me know she just went to foxwoods.

She took my fucking settlement money, said it was for gifts, and went to drink and gamble it away.

Why can't I ever get a fucking break? If anyone can tell me, please let me know so when I decide to blow my brains out I don't have quite so many unanswered questions.

Well.. right before Christmas might be kinda hard to do this, but if I were you I would go to the school's Admissions office first thing tomorrow morning, explain the situation and try to finagle it.. Deadlines can be flexible, when other circumstances (like clueless parents) are involved.

I don't have a car and can't walk, so I'm going to try and call tomorrow. if that doesn't work I'm just going to comply anyways, and even though it's late, maybe they will make it work on their end.


I don't even care at this point though.

what school? you should go up to the school and talk to them. deadlines don't mean that much if classes still need to be filled. I have friends that have just made deadlines look like a joke. If talking doesn't work, be a dick. most people will give in with enough bullshit.

my dad always opens my mail without telling me. i get bills that end up being late because of it. i got a letter from my college telling me to make an appointment to sign up for the upcoming semester. he had it the whole time. could weeks ago i remembered that i needed to sign up. i found the letter and saw that the deadline was october sometime. i just went to the advisors office and asked to talk to an advisor (with no appointment). they took me right away and i had my schedule made in 3 minutes. of course i couldnt get into one of the classes i needed because i was so late but oh well.

oh course your situation is way more judge judy worthy than mine.

i used to intern at admissions back at WPI and this happens all the time. call them, be polite, and explain everything and make sure to mention that you can pay the deposit 'as soon as possible'.

My previous posts in this thread were carried away by my bitterness toward women, so let me just stop and say that I hope everything works out for you at the school, and that the best thing you can do for yourself is move out of there.

you should probably try and live in the dorms at school. Also, you need to go to the financial aid office and find out how they can help you.

Granted, the school should have been able to speak with you on the phone to know that you were accepted if you really called them as often as you said. You should give your mother every ounce of hatred you are feeling just to get it out there so she knows the pain she caused you. She could have just as well messed up your life for the near future as far as being a successful college student and all that. She needs to know what she did and you should make her feel pretty damn sorry for it.

If that were my mother, she would never hear the end of it and I would make her as miserable as you are.

I was opening this thread thinking "you don't talk about your own mother like that," but then after reading your post I'd go miles further. What a bitch.

Niccolai, where were you going to school? A lot of schools will let you take a certain amount of courses without actually being in the program. It kind of sucks, but once you get accepted into the program you'd get credit for those classes. Don't quote me on any of that though, you should always find out, but it might help you out some.

I'll never understand parents like that. I knew this girl who had a mother a lot like that. She married this Vietnamese guy and had 2 kids with him. Then he died, and like 2 months later she married his best friend. The guy's name was Bong (no fucking joke). He was a fucking asshole. He spent all their money on alcohol, and when he ran out of his he'd ransack the kids' rooms looking for it.

The mother wasn't much better. She was pretty famous for disappearing for days at a time, buying enough food and groceries for herself and spending the rest of the money on alcohol, and generally never owning up to even the slightest responsibility. I'll never forget one time one of the kids had bronchitius, and the mother said they didn't have the money to take them to a doctor (because god forbid she gets a job). The next day I think she went to a casino or did something absolutely foolish that cost them a ton of money.

*THIS* is one of the worst stories I've ever heard: This girl though was like 15 at the time. She wasn't old enough to get a real job so she took a job working at the Brockton fair. She worked like 14 hour days almost every single day from the time they opened till they closed getting paid below minimum wage. Towards the end they cut her a check. She gave the check to her mother to cash. I was actually standing there at the fair when her mother walked by with an armfull of stuffed animal prizes (and maybe an invisible dog leash... I might have just imagined that for emphasis purposes) looking like she was having the time of her life. I was standing there and she asked her mother if she had the money from her paycheck. Her mother put on this guilty playful look like a little kid, shrugged a little and said "It's gone." She obviously asked what she meant, and the mother replied something along the lines of "I dunno, it's Friday night, we went out, then we came here, and now it's gone." Just like that, no remorse.

If that's not bad enough.... the grandmother was in a hospital somewhere dying (this is AFTER this girl took her mother to court to have her disown her). She pesters her mother for like a year to give her the name or address of the hospital the grandmother is staying at, and of course the mother keeps blowing it off. Eventually the grandmother dies alone, and of course nobody has any money to even buy her a tombstone.

Oh, and I forgot to add.... Bong... he got sick with pnumonia IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SUMMER. He had no money whatsoever, so he avoided going to the hospital. By the time he went it was too late and his stupid ass ended up dying of pnumonia in August.
