Crumpled up about a full pack of butts last night and threw it in the trash. This was my infamous "last Pack".
Nope, Like a dope fiend I just retreived them and managed to salvage a few crooked ones.
I'm pathetic.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 21,2006 12:10pm
goin on 10 months...though i cheat sometimes when i'm too hammered to know what i'm doing.

toggletoggle post by CaptainCleanoff at Dec 21,2006 12:10pm
HA!! I have done that.

I am clean 4 years and a month.

I smoked a pack-a-day for 13 years.

I quit cold turkey, brainwashed myself to believe that "I am strong enough to do it" and I did.

I have to quit next year. The things are fucking awful, but yet so wonderful at times.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 21,2006 12:17pm
I used that herbal Smoke Away pill. Highly suggest it.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Dec 21,2006 12:21pm
Just go down to any convenient store wait about 10 minutes until you see some pile of shit crawl through the door, cough up a liter of mucous into his hand, and say "GIMMIE A PACK AH MAAAHBUHROS" knowing full well that he's supposed to be buying milk. It will put things in perspective. Smoking is gross.

ps this only works if youre sober.

I think I've smoked two cigarettes in my life. What the hell do you people see in these things? They taste and smell like shit, leave a scent on your clothes, don't even do anything to you, and cost a lot of money. Ugh.

toggletoggle post by Hoser at Dec 21,2006 12:47pm
Quit 4 months ago. Sometimes I cheat at band practice and if I'm hammered.

Soooo....maybe thats not fully quitting, but just quitting buying them.

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at Dec 21,2006 12:49pm
i could quit if i wanted to...i just don't see myself wanting to

cigarettes are a good way to handle boredom and an excuse for a 10 minute break at work

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at Dec 21,2006 12:50pm
havn't bought a pack in a lil over a month. i cheat when i'm drunk (big surprise) and after sex. it sucks, it's such a social thing to do. but on the plus side, food tastes better, i feel my circulation everywhere. i get encouraged seeing co-workers not being able to go more than an hour without a smoke. weak! the smell is starting to get to me too.

Liver tastes like shit too, but people still eat it.

They do? This is news to me...

Last piece of liver I had would be like if someone took a dried out steak and poured sour milk all over it. Nasty.

i quit Novemeber 1st of last year and havent had a drag since. It sucked at first but it's totally worth it.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 21,2006 1:10pm
quitting smoking cigarettes allows a higher revenue for smoking weed. i can only afford one addiction at a time.

"quitting smoking is the easiest thing to do, i've done it 11 or 12 times"

i had a friend who started smoking when he was 18, and his doctor told him that if he quit by the time he was 25, he would have no consequences from it.

I smoked for about 13 years...almost a pack a day...this upcoming April will be 2 years without 'em...I had no problems quitting....the price of cigarettes kinda helped out a little though.

Mm, reading this made me remember this quote I found and I posted for a friend. I took the liberty of correcting the misspelled words.

"Now look, how is being a smoker so much worse than being fat? Both are going to kill you, both are unsightly, but at least cig smoke smells ok, not like gross fat person sweat. And yellow teeth go away with closing your mouth, fatness just stays and fills your vision."

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Dec 21,2006 9:37pm
I personally find cigarette smoking more repulsive than obesity.

Yeah, I just LOVE when someone who is obese or otherwise VISIBLY unhealthy decides to tell me to put out my cigarette because it's bad for me

I quit 9 days ago. The last time I quit I still bummed them occasionally, so I didn't really quit, but this time I'm not making exceptions.

Speaking of quitting, I once heard of someone who quit by smoking a pack throughout the day and collecting all the butts in a bottle of water he had on him, then at the end of the day he drank the water, got really sick and disgusting feeling, and then never wanted to smoke again.

toggletoggle post by DeRtOxIa   at Dec 21,2006 11:08pm
i dont see what some peoples problems are. i go days, and have even gone weeks without a cigarette. i never get an "urge" to NEED to smoke like what some people say. The only time that ever happened to me was at a show where they decided to be super strict about the no re-entry policy and wouldnt let anyone leave to smoke. But that was just the claustrophobia and the knowing that i wouldn't have been able to smoke if i wanted to. I normally don't even need to smoke at shows.

toggletoggle post by DeRtOxIa   at Dec 21,2006 11:09pm
Oh and also in NY you can't smoke in bars or clubs....dunno if MA or NH or anywhere else have the same dumb law. Just to clarify in case people get confused.

toggletoggle post by espresso at Dec 22,2006 10:37am
Pfffttttt... tried to quit about 10 times this year, which only resulted in me acting like a even bigger bitch then usual and a few panic attacks. If I don't have about a pack of cigarettes a day, I'm either very buisy or very bitchy.

toggletoggle post by Cecchini   at Dec 22,2006 10:42am
they make a drug called Chantix now, its highly effective way more so than the patch or gum.

you need an RX for it, but you should make sure your insurance will cover it first if you want to go that route because i think its a bit on the pricey side.

I only ever smoke when I'm drunk or REALLY pissed off and/or stressed. I'm glad I never really got into it, but I don't think smoking every blue moon is too bad. I also think it's okay to "stop" smoking if you feel like you can't "quit".

Exactly what I do. And I'm even cutting that back. I used to smoke a pack a day for like 8 or 9 years. When my 26 year old brother got emphysema I though it might be time to knock it off.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 22,2006 11:03am
i'd say thats as good a reason as any.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Dec 22,2006 11:06am
No shit, huh. Idiot still smokes, too.

I guess he has to do something MORE stupid than having an insane drug habit. He was buying drugs off my little brother for a while. Funny how I've become the "responsible child".

i quit nicotine in all forms (smokes/dip/vapes for the workplace) roughly 3 months ago. did it at a difficult time health-wise as a "2-for" to fix some shit and was basically in psychosis for 3 days, but after that it was a breeze.

Duncan needs to quit spending all his money on smokes and give me my $18!
