GOJIRA live photos, reviews available
Upon nearing conclusion of the band's first trek across North America, France's GOJIRA has netted press coverage across the board, including grabbing a nod from The Los Angeles Times (http://www.calendarlive.com/music/pop/cl-et-bodom9dec09,0,5852142.story). More photos from the band's touring alongside Sanctity, Amon Amarth and Children of Bodom have rolled in as well, including photos from ReturnToThePit.com (http://www.returntothepit.com/concert.php?date=2006-12-16&band=gojira) and The Metal Union (http://themetalunion2.com/bands/gojira/index.html), both from the December 16 show in Worcester, Mass.

GOJIRA will return to North America in February for a seven week tour with Lamb of God, Trivium and Machine Head. "We are so excited to be touring the states like that," vocalist/guitarist Joe Duplantier said. "It's like a dream come true. Thanks to you all, thanks for your support!"

The band's current release, 'From Mars To Sirius' has appeared on KNAC.com's top 10 year-end list among other publications and has earned GOJIRA high praise Stateside, leading Decibel magazine to describe the album as "monstrous, alien endgame chords, forged in fires of ice and honed to hyperjazz perfection." The band is also up for ‘Best Metal Album’ of 2006 at TheGauntlet.com (http://www.thegauntlet.com/poll/index.php?sid=10).

Yeah, seriously. The band is alright but come on, I thought this thread was about the real deal.

i thoroughly enjoy gojira. i'd seen the name tossed around a lot and just figured since they were on prosthetic that they were just another run of the mill pseudo-swedish metal(core) band. i heard them for the first time last friday and i must say i was impressed. i usually have to be in the mood to listen to that general style of music, but it hasn't left my cd player for 4 or 5 days.

but of course, no mortal band can live up to the REAL gojira.

Wow, I finally got around to getting their album. It's so fucking good.
