Got this album over the weekend and must say, the shit is bananas. Unique in that they have four different drummers on the album (including Navene Koperwies from Animosity) and it is still cohesive. They aren't treading new water, but the production and execution of this album are top notch.

Good songs, amazing drumming, and they take a couple chances on some tracks.

Check it out.

Solid band. Solid album. These guys deserve to be huge. I can definitely hear the Cynic influences (computer vocals anyone?). Too bad the scene kids who listen to these guys have never, nor will ever, listen to Cynic.

Anybody else think it's funny that more Hardcore kids shit themselves over this band, yet stand by the notion that they hate "death metal" when this band is straight up death metal? Nothing against the band, because they're awesome....but just a little thing i've observed

I agree, vocally they are almost completely great lows, except for some odd clean vox with atmospheric keyboards under them, and the electrovox Cynic throwback is a nice touch. Cynic, Athiest, Death, god I miss music.

And these guys are all around 20-21 years old...so they have a long bright future in metal ahead of them

i thought that there is just one drummer, but some of the drums are just recorded by different people or something? oh well, i'll check tomorrow since it's too cold out to walk to my car just to look at the liner notes.

when these guys first surfaced, i knew they had potential and obviously are amazing musicians. a lot of people gave them flack for jumping on the tech death/metalcore bandwagon (necrophagist, between the buried and me, etc.), and their song writing skills were a bit sub-par.

something must have clicked because there is probably only a bout 4% hardcore or any -core on the entire album. a lot more jazz influence, more dynamics to the song structure without being choppy, and the flow of the album is amazing. the production is definitely retarded-good. i enjoy the clean singing, even though i had my doubts at first. it's in key, isn't typical, doesn't sound whiny or "emo," and is layered well. i got a kick out of the computer vocals and some of the keyboards; at first i didn't like them at all, but after listening to this album for practically 6 days straight, i feel it's one of the tightest releases from a band of this style.

i actually think they may be even younger than 20-21, or at least a few of them.

yeah, this album is real breath of fresh air to this style. I just wonder if they can pull it off live. Sometimes production is too kind.

i wonder the same thing. not to bring up a band not many like, but job for a cowboy i heard sound nothing like they do on cd live. i heard they were very very sloppy. can anyone testify?

either way, i will have to pick this album up. I remember we were going to try to go out and record with them, but the whole, no mode of transportation or money dragged us down heh. they were going to let us stay at their house for 2 weeks and play shows with them, wicked nice guys.

i was lucky enough to see them with arsis on nov. 5th in chicopee, and it was pretty much near perfect. the guitarists are amazingly tight and don't stand there motionless. the most impressive was the drummer. that kid is ridiculous. he plays traditional style and doesn't half-ass or cheat anything.

that is awesome. that is one of the things that bothers me the most. when you hear a band on cd, and they are awesome, then live they are a big let down. also that they dont stand there is pretty impressive.

necrophagist is really tight live too or so i hear right?

The new drummer they have is awesome. His name is Nick Pierce. Check out this video of him playing An Autopsy. Flawless drumming!

yea they were tight at metalfest for the most part. i also thing sound quality at shitty clubs has a lot to do with metal bands not playing up to par live.
