Millys can be a good venue. Decent home-brew and food, shitty PA. Prepare to not hear what anyone else in your band is playing on stage -- use the force.

we've done it a million and one times and alwas seem to sound pretty good ;)
1. Millys is now 21+. It sucks. Not sure why the change.
2. Screams of Erida had to drop off. One of their guitarists is on tour and they are working on new material. I have a couple other bands lined up and are waiting for final confirmation. I'd like to get Porphyria, Hand Choke Neck, or Life at Zero on this. We'll see.
the sound is decent to me, but im leaning over a monitor center stage and not in front of a full stack.
yah, i dont know what the big deal is with 18+. yes, they have to watch out for people sneakin beers, but it's hard to not get noticed with big black x's on your hand.
is sneaking beer really that big of an issue? i want to know who the jerkoffs that are supplying are. i wont supply any underagers at a show with beer. i had to wait until i was 21, they can too.

We practice tomorrow night -- I'll check with the other guys to see if we can do this. I'll let you know by Friday.
From what I understand, Life at Zero has been added to this. We'll see you fuckers there! Problem is it's so friggin far from our jam space -- all the way across the street!
sure does. Like, really nice ones, so we can use em too. lolz.
Also, havent talked to Steve in a while, I think hes in Maine for, guess what?? A funeral, as usual.
So, I dunno what hes gonna do about this night.
good times
Andols....I need to talk to Jeff about some recording, can u tell him to gimme a call or gimme his #?
Yeah, I'll email you his cell phone # now -- I'm sure he can help you guys out.
So your show is in Rochester on 12/2 (I'm hoping that's in NH, not NY), any idea what time you guys are playing? Rochester is about an hour from Manch, I'm guessing, so maybe you guys can play, Nick can go to your show, then break down drums and bring them to our show -- or vice versa. I dunno -- we'll figure something out.
I hope this all gets worked out. this sounds like a great show. The thing about it being 21+ is shitty, Their door guy sucks at ID'ing people ,from what I was told. The LC has been on Milly's ass for months now about underage drinking. I work for Timmy(LFI), whenever he puts on a show there. And we never have issues.
Yo Kok, you guys discuss yet what we are going to do about the drums / Stevus conflict? I talked to Nick to give him a heads-up. As usual, we don't have any bright ideas.
I got an email back from D-Rez- he said we can go on at 1030 or 1130.....
Im sure this does no help, as that is smack dab in the middle of any set time in any bar anywhere.
I am perplexed.
That's if NICK thinks he can get them there on time. Or maybe Matty could go to our show (since he'll be leaving from Manch anyway) and bring the drums out to your show when we're done. It wouldn't be anymore driving for him, he'd just be leaving later.
OK - we are all set. Matt (HCN) is going to use someone else's kit for their show, we will have our own kit at Milly's. We can play 1st, last, whatever.
I should mention that, since Steve is gonna be in somersworth @ Station 319 with HCN/Rezinate/Change of Season, Swis from Below the Rise is filling in on bass.
A bunch of people are going out TONIGHT at the Uptown Tavern (Manchester) for steve's birthday tonight (i'm sure mike will be there too) if you wanna come out and watch that old fucker vomit.

if they have a barley wine there, someone tell me! I don't go near the bar, but I'll have one of those if they have them. I don't like beer.. but I like guiness, barley wine, and trying a couple interesting foreign ones that carina and I got.
I'll have one of those and then trip over people's wires and ruin the show!

hahaha, I have been there before and no barly wine, so I am assuming this is only an occasional thing, hopefully this Saturday we see the rise of the rev and all his ruining of the show antics with barly wine. If you go to Milly's and don't drink you are what the sober call a fool!
weird... I told carina today that l@z was playng this. guess in a liar. hcn is already playing this night in somerville.
and SOE being down a guitar player means more cause jason fled south.
We are playing this. HCN is playing in Scumersworth and Matt is going to use Rezinate's drum kit. So yes, we are playing the Milly's show tomorrow and we have our own drums.

What a dive. Porphyria Timmy was out. First bar i've been to where shots are in dixie cups. We were waiting so long for Stevus to stop fuckin around the alcohol ate right through the cup.
After we got hammered enough we went upstairs to the dancefloor where the guitarist from THYK was djing. Mike from LAZ destroyed Rebel Yell at karyoke last night. Next thing I know im in a pit. The ganstas weren't impressed. Fuck 'em, it was Mike n Stevus's birthday.

Haha -- yeah the uptown is a dive, but that sounds fucking hilarious. Mike can actually sing, but we don't let him.
How many times has Sacreligion gone on tour, exactly?
D00d we've toured the world with Demon Burger like 7 times. We're huge in Botswana. The only thing is that they paid us in goats, so we didn't really have anything legal tender to buy new gear and merch with.
True story

Draft....But they make most all their own on location, And they are well worth it
life at zero: damn, this is the first time I've seen then in a long time. The last time as at mark's. I got there just as they were starting up so I didn't miss anything. They played one or two new songs. I only paid attention to the first new
song. It sounded a lot dirtier more like united gutteral than their old stuff, but still had some of the waterfall sounding guitar parts. last time I saw them, I thought that andy didn't do any of those and the new guy did them all, but I looked over and saw andy playing basically all of them. During their set, I decided to set up my camera completely differently so I was fighting with it and then when I was done, I missed mike singing... But thankfully, he told me to wait a minute and sure enough, he belted out some vocals for me. What a guy!
did any of the mens use the bathroom? the wall design made me feel like I was in jacobs ladder and the urinels were so high, you had to hold you balls out of the water!
Sacreligion: their first couple songs were the tightest. Probably the tightest I've ever heard them. The only thing that was oddly placed in the mix was the keyboard. It sort of just came in out of no where and then cut right off. They had plenty of people (I found out they were groupies) who came just to see them and drink. For their last song, they did a typo song. Honestly, all my typo CDs were stolen years ago so I'm no longer familiar with them. it took them way too long to tune before they started it. The song was the least tight song they played and since they don't normally end with that song, they kind of ended leaving the set open.
network, the: people were all talking about how this was going to be too crazy and shutdown. The pit was subdued for most of the set with spurts of the bouncers kicking people out. I think that no one actually got tossed out until the second to last song. This was the biggest stage that I've ever seen them play. As for how their sound changed after they went on tour, they now play the set a lot more like it's recorded. It's a lot more techy sounding... If that makes sense. it was also a lot cleaner sounding. I don't remember hearing the dillinger-esque pedal. Now, they all have been granted the powers to move around the stage while still sounding great. Kev was the least mobile of these guys and now he's up on his cab and jumping around the stage. As their set went on, people got more and more roudy. The last song had a couple more people up on the stage, a table being broken, and the-network being barred from playing @ milly's again. It seems like all of their best sets end like that.
mortis deveia: much like the_network, they sounded a lot cleaner than usual. This brought forth their thrashy elements to their music. It was great and even had a sound that sounded similar to the accursed (note to both bands, DBH with you two and revocation, now!). The audience was a little sore still from the network's closing and people being tossed (some people who started a mosh got grabbed to calm them down and the singer asked people a few times not to mosh so they wouldn't get banned). Their set ended without incedent, but the audience still got a sound thrashing. What a terrible pun.oh, a lot of people grabbed their demo even though they had meant to sell it so if you did that..um.. buy them a beer or something.
appologies if my pictures suck worse than usual.. i think I let a lot of dark ones through. I'm trying to configure a new monitor and it's going to take me a while to get use to it.

I wasn't aware that we were banned from Milly's until I read this. Good times tonight to bad it won't happen for us again, but such is life. Thanks to all that came out and hung out, drank beers, and supported all the great bands tonight. This was seriously a good freakin time!!!!
NeverSayNever: remember that time we played at milly's? we were so drunk! but that's what happens at the end of a night at a venue what's primary roll in society is for people to consume alcohol at. Naw, they weren't that drunk. The audience members? now they were drunk.. At one point, 4 people started to mosh and I think one dude got kicked out. That made for a tiny bit of excitment in the crowd, but the band didn't even see any of it. the fill in bass played was no stevus, but played fine with the band. if you didn't know, he had cheat sheets. during their "last" song, todd was up on stage scream live free or some thing. They stopped there... But... Like true rockstars, they played an encore song before their limo took off to the afterparty.
Tragically, on the diversity side of things, rated on a soultrain scale of 0 to 10 (where 0 is white urkle and 10 being midnight at the appollo) they rated a pittiful 2 (aka new hampshire suburb)! that's one step above midnight at the improv when jim carey was there. This is opposed to the last time I saw them when they scored a 6 (aka teen movie or massachussetts suburb.). Translation: the black guy wasn't there to jump on the mic.
this coming from mr. "i always get in conversations and they end up quoted wrong on my website" *shakes fist*
i'm sorry...i didn't mean that...i'm just angry because they aren't groupies of mine specifically haha
i had a great fuckin time last night. i like that place a lot and all the bands were awesome. my favorite of the night has to be mortis deveia, but i might be biased since i listen to their demo all the time and know it like the back of my hand. they played every song like twice as fast as the cd
did the network really get banned? that sucks. 40 people came out of the walls as soon as they hit the stage
Thanks to everyone that came out, the show was a good time. To the Rev:
1. I thought the pictures came out great. I look very handsome.
2. Yes I do play all the parts. Sometimes just not well.

yeah so I guess it is official we are now banned from Milly's, just got word from Ed (promoter from last night). I guess our "fans" were rody and a table was broken. Not sure I completly agree with this, but that is water under the bridge now. Kinda of dissappointed though last night was real fun at a real cool spot, not to mention that the beer flowed like wonderous rivers into all the thristy fishes mouths!!!!
last time we were in baltimore, an entire wall of the house collapsed and the studding and frame came crashing down with it, they asked us to come back more.
yeah we learned from the o'briens incident to bring our own mics now to the place's we are playing, maybe we should start to bring our own tables now.....just in case!

The chorus to the last song was "live free or die"
The show was awesome....
LAZ - was amazing as always, the 2 new songs were really good, can't wait for more new material in that vein.
Sacreligion - Yet another band I had not seen since them playing the bombshelter, They are really good, The keys were way to loud as the rev mentioned. I have no idea what Mr.Joenotcommon's problem is with them, maybe not his style or whatever, but I think they should play more NH shows. haha , I didn't pay attention to the keyboardist shirt, But that is hilarious.
The Network - Way different then I remember them from the BS days, The singer remebered me, that was cool, They are wicked fun to watch,as well as the crowd, That table that broke, almost landed it and the singer on my lap cause I was right up front during their set. Need to get their CD when it comes out in Jan.
Mortis Deveia - I missed out on the free($3) demos, man I gotta get one some day, they are so good, I think Caitlyn should move around a little more onstage than just the head banging,She has some of the best vocals I have heard,in a long time. Their Bassist (stiffler) is a spazz. great band, I will be at Mark's next weekend to check them out again.
Neversaynever - They sounded great*, Swis learned the songs really quickly to fill in for that show I guess,he did an exceptional job, for such short notice, "third shift at the slaughterhouse" is still my favorite song by them. Myself and the dude from rage rock radio were throwing shit at Jimbo, moreso me,peanuts,m&ms, ice. So he finally had to let me come up and sing with them, along with Timmy(LFI) and a few others, I could not see that side of the stage. I miss sing alongs like that, reminds me of the sing alongs at all the punk/hardcore shows back at the shelter. fuck anyone who says otherwise, I miss that place and I know a lot of the bands do also.
after the_network's set, some girl outside was like "did you see the table and that guy in the wheel chair? I felt so bad for him.. he almost got..." I wanted to say something but didn't. like todd's not been near disasters at 1/2 the shows he's been to and if something does happen he's got rocket packs until that thing. true story. if the table fell on him, he flicks on the afterburners and would be hovering near the ceiling, looking down on the mess, laughs as 1000s of pound of thrust melts people's faces off..

hahaha that is funny
and as far as the lyric, you said "Todd was yelling live free or something", I was just being a smartass as usual
good show folks, i was stuck at the door most of the night, but the sound wasn't too awful over there. the_network was a nice surprise, i hadn't seen them before, and i haven't seen Sacreligion in over a year, kudos on the m&m tossing. did anyone slip NSN a few bucks for the striptease at the end?!
hahahaha.
see you soon kids.
Thanks to all the bands and fans that came out. The afterparty was pretty good. It's weird to see the sun rise, beer in hand, with bandmates passed out on the floor.
we should no longer be allowed to play in bars after 10pm. beer likes us too much.
i'm not exactly sure why the network was banned... i didn't see them encouraging the crowd to be unruly, and they shouldn't be punished for what their fans choose to do. and they did bring in a lot of people, so you'd think the business end of things would outweigh the few minor problems.

yeah, i don't know why they were banned either, but right after their vocalist (Scott??) made the announcement about moshing, Jeff (millys dude) asked me who the band was in a huff
i suspect hes a masshole
venues are real anal about the moshing thing these days
we should no longer be allowed to play in bars after 10pm.
NO shit, especially $1 drafts. I think we've played/sounded worse.

Agreed. Scott (singer) fell on the table which snapped the leg. Usually they take that table out, so if it wasnt there than it wouldn't have been a problem. I'd play with them again, regardless.
they had plenty of people (I found out they were groupies)
for the record, those were not groupies. one was with our keyboardist, the other was a vile, disgusting, wretched excuse for a "human". i want to clear my name from said "groupies" because i would rather floss my ass with barbed wire than get within 10 feet of them.
