Alright, Megadeth's playing a "mini-concert" at Six Flags tonight, which I won VIP tickets to. However, I'm currently carless (I live in Worcester near Kelley Square). They're premiering a new song, "Gears of War", and there will be a tent to play the new video game of the same name. The set's at 8. Er...email sinistas@gmail.com if interested.

FREE TICKET.

come on!

I hear they're only playing the song from the video game and that it's a meet and greet basically. If that's the case I'm not paying all that money for one song and to say hello. I could be wrong though.

double post. I suck at life.

Is there a reason you had to post something to try and get people not to go?

when you say vip tickets do you mean just to the mini-concert or do you get into the park too. i was at 6flags on sunday and theres posters for that gears of war game all over and every 5 minutes you hear the comercial for it play out of the speaker system. real annoying.

it's for everything, park admission, concert, whatever. it's alright, I think I found a ride.

It sounds exciting to meet the guys in a band, especially a major name like Megadeth, but once you meet them, what do you say? "Uh hi, I love your music, you guys rock!" Yeah they know, that's why you paid a hundred bucks to go see them.

I've never met anyone famous, but I've said hello to band members before (Chris Barnes for example, about 5 years ago), and it's very awkward for me because even though I liked their band, they're still strange people and I have nothing to say to them, and I'm sure they feel weird having some dumb ass walk up to them and trying to act like best buddies with them, and expecting them to like me because I'm wearing their band shirt. But I'm not good with conversation in the first place so maybe it's just me...

I agree with this, it's really strange to meet people who you look up to musically. Usually I find the least awkward situation is just meeting them to get something signed after a show and saying "Great show" and going off on your way.

Although autographs are a whole different thing altogether. They are a very strange concept when you think about it.

i dunno...i've met a lot of "famous" people and I'm usually myself...75% of the time I don't ask for anything..just small talk...sometimes we actually get into deep convos, not usually, but it's happened. half the time i ask them to pose for a pic...5% i've asked to take a photo WITH them and %5 of the time I've asked for an autograph.

I have some awesome stories too. I think my top one would be running into Oliver Stone in a frame shop on santa monica bd. and then me telling him I'd buy a poster if he could sign it. Not only did he sign it but he BOUGHT IT for me
haha
having a convo in italian with mike patton was awesome too.

I've already met Mustaine. I'm going because they're premiering new material, and it's going to be filmed for MTV I guess.

If I was not working I would go.
