Lita, all I meant is I would not know what to do if we played the same night as celtic frost. I've not seem them since the "Pand" album. I think I would leave our show after playing to see them..

Piledriver and Destructor as in the 80's power/thrash bands?? Fuck, that's a rad show...
We've played with CC before. I def. wouldn't call them black metal although I guess some of the vocals are shrieky. Maybe it's because I saw them without the keyboardist. Some parts reminded me of maybe Leprosy-era Death.
closed casket: there were so few people here that they could probably have sent out a song out to each person in the audience. Their guitars were a bit muffled, but they sounded good. It's interest that they don't have a single breakdown in their music.
heskeri: a bunch of the "regulars" were up front for them. That was excellent. Having actual people there to see your band. By the end of their set, there were probably 30 people in and out watchin them. they did a little bit of show boating for the audience, but mostly they are just planted back there playing as fast as they could. .the ended telling us to die, but you could tell they didn't mean it.
psycho: there were over 40 people watching these guys. Cody did vocals on one atrack. There were two llittle kids rocking out for their set. Like 4-5 years old and one of them head banged for the entire set. Anyhow, it's bizarre that a band who the "old people" were into when they were young is still playing shows. it's even more surprising that they are playing so damn well. People were thrashing about and yelling along to their set (yes, more than just richhorror). When you get there and see the mile long set list, you think that the set will drag on, but with all those short songs. It blazes by.
I'm home, working on pictures.
I didn't witness the piledriver bs first hand (or even see any of the piledriver dudes during the show) so I'm not going to tell the story.
Hekseri ruled as usual. I really like that song Retaliator, sick!
Psycho was fucking great, first time I've seen them before, definately want to see more shows with them in the future.
Destructor was killer! Anyone know where I can buy a disc of theirs? Total Thrash Mania!
piledriver did not play as I said. robin! tell the story
destructor: with under 50 people on a saturday evening (with ~50yo's on stage), this band still had fun. You could tell in the way they played. The set sounded perfect. If you have any of their old stuff, this sounded spot on. This is the way old thrash bands should hit off their shows.

Sorry to everyone about Piledriver: I was looking forward to their set as much as everyone else.
But when you roll in with threats on me and my staff, no matter what your contract says, you're gone.
Have fun at your hotel I never got you, you fucking Canadian faggits.
Why does this always happen? Why must a band ban an entire city because of the events at one show, which accordingly were their own damn fault?

Pile driver should have played !!!
But too bad for them... Psycho had a great time ....Thanks to all who showed !! WE had a blast!!!!

Fucking awesome show, Psycho destroyed! Love seeing the Chaz in action, he so fucking good, better than he ever was!
Fuck Piledriver man. Rich horror was so fucking funny it was all worth them not playing. it woud have been cool to see them, but pure comedy is sometimes better than seeing an old washed up canuck thrash band.
I was confused if it was a boy or a girl. there was a little girl headbanging too. she stopped 1/2way through psycho. this kid will be cooler than tenacious d character in the new movie.

It was definitely a little dude; he had a sister thrashing for a while too that looked a lot like him...
It is always sweet to see younger kids getting into heavy music because then they will have the torch be passed to them when they reach our age. I just hope this whole metalcore scene won't become the next classic rock.
Hotel? Ha ha ha!!! Dude, we were in Montreal at the Katecombes for last call-till-sunrise party action with Janick and her girls! No, sadly, we forgot about you HOURS before that...Ha ha ha!!!
Some of you piss-ant punk/diy promoters are really something! We try to support the small time guys, and this is how we're treated... Robin, from before we even arrived you knew you were in breach of contract and you were scared shitless before we even pulled up to the venue... then you ran from us for three hours while we tried to work it out with you... (during which we went up the block to set up a gig at the Middle East, just in case we wouldn't be playing so we would still soon be serving it up soon for our Boston area fans) you heard third-hand exaggerated claims of our 'threats' which were nothing but quips and jokes in our internal band venting... we then chased you down as you yakked on your cell phone to say that if you could come up with $200 for gas n' shit, we would go on... but, no... you couldn't stay in one spot long enough to listen... you ran around like a headless chicken, calling the cops on us, for what... third-hand BULLSHIT??? Seriously, Robin! How many words were actually exchanged face to face between you and us??? Let's see...
YOU:"There's no dressing-room... no-motel... no-money.
US: "What? What? What? This is fucked, you signed a contract. We're going outside to discuss this".
Mascara-Doughboy(and yeah... I know I'm the fattest of the fat... takes one to know one, ya know...): "Hey, you can't have ten names on the guest list"
US: "Um, we don't have a guestlist... -grabbing sharpie and blotting out names- we don't know anyone in Boston... goddammit, where's ROBIN?"
Again, we chased you around while you yakked on your cellphone, trying to tell you we'd play for $200 bucks gas money... then you're running up the freakin' block! Then you call the COPS and have us removed from the venue. What... doncha have a big brother to fight yer battles? Yer mommy perhaps? Our were they too busy making you a little sister to hand your clothes down to???
Now, in this very forum, after not being professional enough to honor your own signature in a business venture, let alone possessing the testosterone to man up and enter into civil discussion to arrive at a fair compromise to save the deal, not to mention saving face for your ownself, you DARE to make PUBLIC THREATS ("PILEDRIVER I'M COMING FOR YOU")... you shoulda been careful whatcha wished for cuz you got it, u lil' bitch!!! When I see you, we'll dance, I promise... ask anyone, I always back MY word with deed... and you've made it public... how could I deny? 'Twouldst be my pleasure my pretty little plaything to render you your fate... till next we meet!!!!!!!
(n.b. ...pour les connaisseurs... on va passer vers Sherbrooke avec Eutanazia dans quelque semaines... vien, vien, on va jaser...)
why anyone would promote shows is beyond me, I mean thanks to everyone who has ever booked us but why you put up with all this shit is beyond me.

I waited over 20 years to see Piledriver and destructor and was fucked again. If it's true about the contract and whoever put the show on should of paid up. And there was no need to call the cops thats bad for the scene! You don't like what I say "FUCK OFF". LAST DAYS FOR THE WEAK.
Seriously, piledriver rule and this promoter could not even hear them out
Total Bullshit
who the fuck does Robin think she is

Haha no these guys sucked. They are so lucky I called the police which the club wanted me to do after I asked them what I should do with these guys that were making threats, please post my signature on any contract I have signed for this show, otherwise you can go fuck yourselves, I'll have my boys SUM 41 kick your fat asses.

They can talk all the shit they want from Canada but who didn't get to play a show for being babies and having no fans. Prove a contract signature, and when you do I'll show the back of my credit card signature to match it up. Can't do it fatty Mcretarded.

I was saying that to piledriver, I like your band. I'm in Defcon 4. Friends with Keith Bennet since 1988. Get your facts straight or believe a messageboard.
While I love PILEDRIVER and thought the show in Montreal last December was fucking great, there's a few important things to note here... This is also in response to the statement on the PILEDRIVER website about the show, someone can track it down if they like. I can't comment on the events themselves (police showing up, etc.), cause I arrived to the show later.
- This is a band that barely had their albums distributed outside of Canada when they were released 20 years ago and didn't play a single show at the time.
- Including the 12/2005 Montreal show, I believe this mini-tour makes for 4 total PILEDRIVER shows now completed? Correct me if I'm wrong... Also this new live lineup only contains 1 original member.
- I don't have a clue of the exact number, but I'd guess that Robin has booked over 100 shows, or close to it at least. He had to dig into his own pocket to make sure HIRAX got paid properly last night, but the show was a success, and Katon and co. were just one of many really appreciative bands he's booked.
- If you can't get more than 30 people to come to the Elks Lodge, how are you going to get booked at the Middle East? MUNICIPAL WASTE played the Elks to 350 or so people - another show booked by Robin - because, well... people care about them! I prefer PILEDRIVER, but the fact is, not very many people at all have even heard the name.
- Robin's a fuckin' birdbrain, but it's all good.
What it comes down to, all musical opinions and egos set aside, is that Robin knows how to book a show, puts his ass on the line financially, and has had repeated success in the process. PILEDRIVER either vastly overestimates their drawing power, has little clue about the live music business, or some combination of the two.
DESTRUCTOR, on the other hand, showed that they understood real underground metal and seemed to enjoy playing for the 40 or 50 people that stuck around. They didn't bitch about the payout either, cause they probably understand that a 20 year old recently resurrected underground band is out of their minds to expect $600 and hotel rooms.

Also to people considering me just as a promoter, this is the last thing on my to do list, the reason I book shows is to see the bands I like or to help locals get to play in front of different crowds, I think the most I ever made off a show once, was 500 at Municipal waste last time, but I never do this for the money ever.
