Critically-acclaimed quartet BURNT BY THE SUN recently logged time in Belford, New Jersey's Wet Side Studio with engineer Mike Hill to record their first new material in over 3 years.

The recording marks BURNT BY THE SUN's (MUNICIPAL WASTE drummer Dave Witte, guitarists John Adubato and Nick Hale, bassist Ted Patterson, vocalist Mike Olender) first foray into a recording studio since 2003's The Perfect Is the Enemy of the Good as well as Hale's debut on second guitar with the band.

The band recorded several tracks, including a brand new song titled "Goliath" and a new version of "When Corporations Rule Your Mom" (originally released on Ferret Music as part of a split release with LUDDITE CLONE). "Goliath" will see a fall release via Relapse Records as part of a split 7" with New York's CAR BOMB.

The writing of the new BURNT BY THE SUN album will continue through the winter for a projected late-2007 release.

been waiting for this for a long time. 'the perfect is...' is a solid release, but im hoping for a little more of a return to form.

the split with car bomb should be interesting, i just found out that the band consists of half of neck (the band).

Yes. The self-titled release is one of my favorites of all time.
