Im looking forward to this show. good bands on it. Typhus and Engorge will most likely be the best of the night. Always wanted to see Ashdautas and CNV. Anybody from PA coming down to this?

Yes engorge is that very same band. they have come under fire over the years for that very same reason although they continue to produce decent usbm. the singer is clearly not white but not black either, go figure The singer is the guy that puts on these shows and has been for several years all over ny/nj engorge is a good band nonetheless

I agree and could care less about who is what color in metal. And both those bands are legendary. i just think that some people dont like the "pull" engorge has within the underground. ever since they played a show with grom a few years back their (un)popularity has grown. Ive been to a few of these kep productions shows and all have been killer. the guy clearly knows what he is doing to be at it so long. I dont understand why people get their panties in a bunch over stupid scenester shit. Everyone should check out engorge, the guys vocals are totally original and downright commanding. im going more so to check out Typhus, Godless Rising and Acidwinter but engorge definately is feather in the hat of this show. SUPPORT !!

Yes they played with Grom. It was all over the PF website,internet message boards, in local newspapers etc. So what? It was a great show! I think the guys from Grom have footage of this. Quite a great night all the way around if I remember. Skins and longhairs all having a great time.

I believe Ive read in in a few interviews that kyle is in fact half italian and something else. no matter. ive been to his shows. they all have ruled. Engorge is a great band.

I've never been to this place. Kyle (necrogod) use to do all his fest at Connections in NJ but I guess not this time around.
All the past fests we use to play for him have been really great as far as turnouts go so hopefully this will be the same!

baphomets horns: I wished it was louder. That room needed to be filled more. I was walking around a lot and I would only hear vocals and then only guitar, etc... on the CD tracks, the guitar tracks are more driving, but at 1/2 the level they should have been at, it was a lot harder to hear stuff. Also, I'm sure it was just being on that stage (separated from the crowd by a barricade and 5' of stage), but they need more stage presense. At the very end of their set, they covered a nunslaughter song (the vocals sounded more like beyond the flesh) and another song that I didn't catch what it was, but I'm going to make a ind guess that it was blackwizard by emperor. Chris (old cemetary) gave me a copy of the split. I think it's got one more track that the demo CD.
death sick: the line up is already changing. I was expecting deimos and death sick got up on stage. When the hit that first note, I was pretty obvious that the sound guy turned every thing up from when BH was on the stage. I could actually feel the kick drum. they were black death, but with (especially in the new song) some slam breakdowns. Some of the vocal parts reminded me a lot of crow torture's vocals. They were much better than at death in the forest and they didn't do the burzum cover which made their set better (granted I do like burzum).
acidwinter: I'm going to guess that this band was acidwinter. They didn't say really anything other than something about hating my god and me. They didn't get any sort of a sound check so the mix sounded terrible at first. By the end of their set, I would classify the mix as "not as terrible." for some reason? One of the guitars kept disapearing. they sounded good over all. I'm pretty sure they had a fill in bassist too. Right when it looked like they were going to rip into another track, the singer walked off stage and they were done with out saying a word.
There still aren't too many people here. But 2 more people who are in CNV are here now so they are on next.
yep, I see them fiddling with stuff. there are also old hispanic dudes tha keep trying to snap pictures of megan walking away with their cellphones as they set up. lame.
I like probably 80% of the audience in here is hispanic. right now there are probably 20 paid people milling about (not count bands/friends).
Northern: they finally got everything set and the second they hit the stage, 30+ people came out of the woodwork and lined the front of them. with the speed that their set came together in the end, you would have expected them to have been playing at the top of their game, but they were. Full on awesome set. The only "issue" om stage that I could see is that kinslayer had a 6' chord into a DI box so he couldn't move and he was on stage left. There are no floor monitors stage left only on on the back of the PA so he was facing Matt for all except the last song. their second to last song was a past forgotten (it was even requested from the crowd). They nailed it! So good. Paul's guitar sounded perfect in the slower parts though... The kick drum was triggered (or it sure sounded it). For a part that is suppose to be natural (the slower parts), the kick drum was too punchy and sort of knocked holes in the slow parts. When they kicked into faster stuff, the kick worked. Any one who missed this set should probably just stop going to shows.

100 points to the person who can name all the corpse paints originals wearers. The drummer definitly had the nick barker paint. Before I got up to the stage, I thought this was sign of the goat, but it's not. that leads me to finding a new usage for my B/W mode on my camera... Makes them look like mimes. I think the best part of the band was the bassplayer. Very deverse playing. At one point he was pucking out piano sounds. When I walked back to shoot the drummer, a piece of rope from the snake hit my foot and I thought I un plug the bassist's DI box, but that didn't happen. they did that whole emperor sound really well. A few people moshed around during a couple of their songs. During the last song, there were like 5 or 6.
With 5 bands left, I think I can only see GR and engorge. If all the other bands are in that backstage area or just showing up for their set and not seeing the other bands, that's lame.
it smells terrible in this place now. Like farty egg stinkbombs. someone definitly crop dusted this place well. I can't find a place inside that doesn't smell.
The bathroom looks like a halloween party went down in it. So many empty containers of white makeup and black markers.

ashdautas: they took a long time to set up. This cut into their set time. Their sound is what I think acidwinter was trying to go for too, but these guys were tighter (and their thread$ $harper). Now I'm pretty sure not wanting to get stabbed by the dude trying to take pictures and thrash around while wearing gauntlets with 9" nails on them (+2 v fire) makes me a poser, but I'm just really glad (especially in the left arm area and tetness area) that I'm wearing a hoodie +4 against gauntlets with 9" nails on them and a saving throw. Thankfully, I made my saving throw. It made the front barricade look like the front line in that braveheaet movie. Ok seriously, they killed it. The whole set was almost one long song. it was raw black metal with some elements that were atmospheric and others that boarded on watchmaker. Very interesting stuff. they went over their time a little. You could tell the sound guy was antsy cause he was on the side of the stage. They tave him no time to say "____ minutes left."
engorge: now that I know what band I'm here to see and not expecting something different. (as I was pissy about last time). The guitar was messed up at the beginning and at some point later, it just stopped working. They replaced the head or everything. Not sure. When they got the beginning guitar issues worked out, the singer ran out on the stage covered in blood; kyle/necrogod. I know my pictures at the other venue were better. They had the second most people there to see them in this show (no one has beat CNV's crowd size). They didn't have any samples this time. The sound guy didn't do them right anyhow for the other band. I think that engorge sound send me a CD for my radio show so I can hear them no just live.
Godless Rising: after driving all this way, I hope people come up to the front to see them! which of course the remainding people did. They played 3 tracks off the new CD. The next CD is going to rule as hard as the old CD. Totally old school death metal. I'm really surprised that they have so much ready for the next platter since it seems like they just dropped the last one. Some thing that only a photographer would notice: jeff's eyes twinkle when he's screaming about true blasphemy. like a picture of a puppy or that hang in there cat, warms your heart, eh? (actually, I think it's just the front lighting). PaulCNV was front and center screaming for them. Also, fishcakes was at the side yelling at they when they didn't play into obscurity.
typhus: I have never heard nor heard of these guys. Have I? no, I don't think so. Some campy stuff (their album is called typhus shits in the mouth of christ). Some really nice blistering black metal, too. They tight the bm parts in with some deathmetal and remind me of the diabolical era incantation. They forgot to set up some things on thw drums and after 3? Songs it was 12:49am and they were cut off so that AC could go on. I would have liked to hear at least one more.
I just went out the door to get a shot of the building and got locked out! I grabbed my camera under my arm and bolted for the back door. I was like SAFE!
I wasnt nearly drunk enough to play with any enthusiasm and my short cable didnt help matters. We were told there was a backline we could use but alas, there was not. The amp Megan had to use sounded like shit, I couldnt hear myself due to being lined directly into the PA and there were no moniters and to make matter worse, WE DIDNT HAVE TIME TO PUT ON SPIKES AND BULLETS! But whatever, I enjoyed myself nonetheless. We forgot to get paid...

anal cunt: the drum kit had to be totally redone so it took them a while to get up and running. The room slowly cleared out as they set up, but people came back once they got started. Josh looked atleast 5 years younger up there with AC again. As we all know, being in anal cunt is like being filled with fermeldahide. You never age and you can't die. I was there until I heard value jet. I have a very ood recording and memory from the middle east in 2000 involving that song. I stayed for 3 more songs after that and then took off.
deimos: no show. no play. I told people they were next at one point, but it was death sick.
