New site? Maybe some day.

I just picked up a LTD MH-300
Neck thru baby
LTD Family spread (mh-301 / mh-300 mh-301)
Family Portrait (Charvel predator /LTD's/ Ibanez 7620 / Jackson cheapy)
|
|
I am going to rob you and be the happiest man ever. |
|
i used to have a green mh-300 in green too. good score.
i gotta say though, WAAAAAY too many guitars in that picture with stock pickups though. |
|
Dude, I fucking hate you.
Ive been searching for that green 300 for 3 years now.
You suck!
No, thats fucking sweet tho, congrats. |
|
(I have the red Tiger stripe one) |
|
I wish I had a 301.
The 301 is the only Mh guitar I haven't owned. at one point I had 12 LTD horizons.
It becomes an unhealthy addiction. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. |
|
301 is quilt top, correct? |
|

The charvel has a dimarzio fred (which blows) I have a 81 for the 1st mh301 but havent put it in yet. The red mh301 has 81/85. The ibanez 7620, I stoped playing that yrs back, so I never replaced the pickups. The jackson 1/2 V -I dont even play that guitar...... i touch it twice a year(jess calls that the "strongbad guitar")
powerkok said: 301 is quilt top, correct? |
Yes quilted maple. The 301 weighs like 2 or 3 pounds more than the 300 does.

I am thinking of selling the red MH-301. But cant decide yet. |
|
handinjury said: I am thinking of selling the red MH-301. But cant decide yet. |
you should sell me the 7620 if you haven't played it in years |
|
the 301 also has a blade switch as opposed to the round toggle of the 300 and comes with hz4s instead of hz1s.
killer guitars.
If you sell your red mh301, let me know. |

I will put you on the list. I got a gibson guy into Ibanez a few years back and now he has 4 Ibanez's. He is allways asking about my 7620.

Yep, the 5 way blade switch. I will most likely put the HZ's back in if I sell it. I will keep you in mind if I do sell it. |
|
Let me ask ya....what did you pay for the green one? |
|
At one point, they cost almost as much new as the 400 series does today, but when they were being discontinued, dealers were selling them for as low as 400$ so that cause the retail value to shrink, so they can usually be found for in the 300$ area in excellent or mint condition. (assuming the pickups are soldered correctly, and the trem bar and trem cavity cover are included) haha.
I don't know what he paid for his, but probably in that general range. |
|
no shit, thats why I was asking him. |
|
Who is that Jackson signed by? |
|
powerkok said: no shit, thats why I was asking him. |
haha my fault, I forgot you had one.
I thought you were asking how much they usually went for. |

Eh, this is the 18th guitar I have owned.
powerkok said: Let me ask ya....what did you pay for the green one? |
$325 w/ a mint case and a pack of new strings.

Handinjury, has the binding on the 301s started to yellow at all?
the binding on my old 300s and 250FR yellowed over the years, but my 400s, 250NT and 1000 have not. It's wierd to me. Some people say it's the clear coat, but I don't think so. |

Yes, they are a shade yellow. Give those 400 series some time they will fade. |
|
i love my LTD ;)
i wanna get new pickups for it but can't decide on what to get...it has duncan designed pickups in it right now and i've been thinking about trying out some EMGs...but am not much of a gear-head so i don't know what's best |
|
It' weird because my 400s and 250 NT are older than my 250FR and my 350FR practically looks like mustard. |

That's what guitar center is for... comparing EMGs to Seymour Duncans.
If you have the chance, I would also recomend checking out Dimarzio X2Ns. Alot of people say they are the ultimate pickup, Neal Moser puts them in his MCS import line. |
|
I hear good things about the x2n's.
I still swear by emg 81's, although they are a bit shrill in the lead dept. I use a dimarzio dropsonic for leads when recording. |
|
This is my next move:
That and a Horizon NT II and then I'm never getting another guitar for the rest of my life unless it's my own god damn sig. |
|
oooh graduating to a 7 string eh?
may I ask why? |
|

I like my 81 in my mahogany bodies guitars also, but they can be really picky about which guitar they go it, and they can be very thin sounding in cheap wood. |
|
They need to make a neck thru mII, with a maple fretboard.
Yah, I know, mahog neck is pourus, and maple isnt, but DO IT dammit!! |
|
powerkok said: oooh graduating to a 7 string eh?

I may get the 6 string version of it, I'm not sure yet, but I was planning on buying a baritone to drop to B, but I figure with a 7 string baritone I could drop to G if I wanted to without setups and string guage changes, so I would be buying it for versatility.
The 6 string version is also calling my name though, I'm torn. Damn you Stephen Carpenter. |

Ya, an 81 in a maple body would be too shrill/shimmery.
both of my main guitars are mahog, so it works out.
The dropsonic is in an Alder Warlock Supreme. |
|
ahh but guitar center won't have my guitar with different pickups in it...and im suure they won't let me sit there and install and uninstall all sorts of different kinds to see what works best...haha
do the x2n's put out a strong low-end? that's crucial for my sound |
|
Maybe I'll just buy the luis vuitton and Guchi horizons...
haha I love those. Almost as gay as the pink SC sig. |
|
you basically have 2 strong choices.
x2n
or Emg 81.
The differences are EMG is active, and very saturated with a high low end and high end response.
the x2n is passive, with a medium low end, high mid response.
Both are great, but I'd lean towards the 81, because Im not a fan of middy sound.
|
|
Here ya go, since you went with the gay graphics options. |
|
hahahaha its a mh 100 trying to sell at $700+. LOL |
|
can you buy emg pickups at guitar center?.... last time i checked alls they sold were duncans |
|

i'd probably go with the 81s, just because im not a fan of the high mid sound either
now that i think about it i need to buy a whole lot of shit...new distortion pedal, new cables, new pickups...god damn musical equipment and its need to be retardedly expensive |
|
xanonymousx said: can you buy emg pickups at guitar center?.... last time i checked alls they sold were duncans |
I don't know if they deal EMGs, but they have plenty of guitars with EMGs installed if you wanna compare how they sound to other pickups. |
|

Is that a real Floyd in that?

YES. They got 81 & 85's. |
|
Looks like it, I cant really tell from the pics. |
|
thanks...
those guitars are sick |

They sell DiMarzios too, and EMGs. |
|

I believe it's an ofr, and has sperzels.
Witht h pictures, ofr, and tuners, it makes it close to worth the 700$ price. (it would be worth it if it came with the opriginal crap parts so you could take the good parts and resell the crappyguitar.) |
|
ive got an ltd f-250. not too bad. |
|
250s are Indonesia.
The real good LTDs are Korean.
Nothing wrong with the Indonesian ones though. |
|
Yo brian!! I found that Hihat/Bass drum bracket you were lookin for. It's yours man, free of charge. |

As far as LTDs go though, korea is the limit.
Japanese made guitars are definately the place to go depending on the factore they are made in. noyoga - made guitars are crap and sence ESP started making their esp cig models at their standard shop instead of their custom shop, they have also dropped in quality.
ESP custom shop all the way nigga. |
