for the second show, I'm playing with carina's canon. It's a bizarre little system, but works wonderfull in black and white and @ ISO 1600. Nikon needs to catch up to this bad boy in a serious way.
neon hookers, the: they jammed out sound checking for a little while and then did a really quick set. When I was outside, it sounded awesome. I would love to see a full set from them. Nobody really move until the singer of a loss for words started to move around.
a loss for words: they jumped on real quick, banged through a couple songs and were done. I guess they jumped on cause listen up! were late. The singer's basically been the movement for the room thus far.
listen up: probably the least audience energy I have every seen for them. Sucks cause they are a cool band. The only person who was really moving, again, was the singer from ALFW. Their set was extremely short.
carrier, the: asian aaron rtold me they used to be bring your own end. That name sounds familiar, but I'm not sure. The singer screamed his throat out. If I did that, I wouldn't be able to talk again. I would sound like a blown speaker. his speaker didn't even crackle though he did have a bit of help from an audence member who sang along a lot. I hope they hit a chord with the have heart fans out there and blow up like CSL cause they rule.
in remembrance: this is one of those "progressive" hardcore bands that works on writting good music and not just breakdown breakdown sing along two step breakdown breakdown. This leaves holes in their set where kids that just want to moshmoshmosh find themselves with nothing to do but stand and listen. The music (well, their best songs) is full of slow build ups, but also quick change ups. there were a few people moshing for them, but only during the perscribed locations.
I wish charle and johnny did shows here over the summer. I would have loved more natural light from the outside later in the evenings.
meltdown: they took way way way way too long to set up. Everyone filtered out. But the time they got through their first song, most of the people came back. There were a lot more people moshing for them. It's weird that there are so many bands that are local (meaning new england bands) that just come out of no where. I know I can't keep track of every band out there, but they already have an EP on rock vegas.
palehorse: they did in fact rule. what else would you expect from them? the last time they played at this venue, the drummer shot a stick into the back of his throat and went down for the count. basically the weirdest thing I've seen at a show. people kicked up their heels for this band. that made me happy cause they rule. I just wish more NH kids came out to this show. I also wish that I had some of their tracks to play on my radio show.
palehorse: they had a fill in bass. I thought they had 2 guitarists. but then one of the guitarists pushed his gear back. The guitarist rocked out so had that he shook the cables from the wall.
