If Jessie didn't already have AIDS this tour would've given it to him.

despised icon: I ran in just as they were starting their set. Sucks that they got tossed on first. I was up by the doors and it sounded like it had to be a sound check. Everything sounded SOSOSO thin. Nothing was turned up loud enough or possibly at all. The stage has 2 standing pillars to either side of the stage and 2 curved hanging stacks of speakers that are pointing sort of towards the balcony. if I had t quess from the sound, they are running everything through the hanging speakers and are only using the standing columns to drive bass. I'm use to the sound at the palladium and even considering that, the sound was terrible for DI. they still got to play like 6-7 songs. The singer(s) jumped in to the audience a bit. I think cause the kids in the front were all about them. Kind of odd seeing them downstairs at 5:30 and not during a fet, but whatever. This band's live set has wow'd me in the past so I was excited to see them againa nd the definitly played through the sound issue.

again, DI was robbed on this show.

maylene and the sons of disaster: I guess they are YACB (Yet Another Christian Band) cause they hailed jesus in they end. trying to give it a "cool" and rebel spin. Something like "we're all about jesus and if you don't like it, we don't care." When they first came out, it just seemed like a joke rock band made up of members of other bands. that was until I saw people singing along. I'm not really sure about them, but they mixed some sothern rock in with everything else... Um..i guess cause they are from alabama.. Some everytime I die sounding stuff. The sound in there was pretty lousey for them too.

first blood: at the beginning of their set, the vocals were buried completely. The mixed it out after a few minutes and the sound quality awent op and and they sounded much better. They are still driving eveerything but the bass over the crowd. Very weird. No one in the front knew who they were so there was a lot of blank-stares from the 16-year olds. The people that knew who they were were the ones in the mosh pit.

Eevergreen Terrace: whenever I hear these guys on CD, I'm always so disapointed (besides the covers disc). then I see them live and then are really good. so I listen to a CD and I'm let down (besides the covers disc). and so forth. in the end, I don't know what or who wins. their set was a little watered down from the last time I saw them, but still good. I missed pictures of a lot of the crowd surfing action. needless to say, the security was running around a lot.

damn i wanted to go to this i wanted to see first blood zao and if black dahlia murder plays their first ep disk. only if that. if zao plays anything from liberate like the intro or track three i'll be mad i didn't go

zao: they were the first band that sounded awesome for their whole set. This is a band that sticks true to their roots. Thankfully for them, their members change every CD/tour so they can totally change up the sound and go with something different. I think the only member consistantly is the guitr player. The set was super heavy. After them, napalm death. They are probably a little overwhelmed to be playing before ND. they sort of did a skipping record outro, the bass and guitar backed off stage leaving just the singer and drummer.
sorry, xax, I can never tell their songs apart live.

napalm death: I'm really hoping they do something for jesse. As soon as that bass started up, I was like damn! shane's distortion on that thing is so signature. Napalm Death going on before BDM is like slayer openning up for trivium. Sucks, but whatever. I had thought that the other harris brother had left the band too. I was happy to see that he hadn't. Now think about if mich harris popped up on drums. Eepers that would be really cool. A guy can dream. *sigh*. The drumset looks like it's got two loads of laundry inside it. Barney is a fruit loop on the stage again. Anyone not familiar with them is probably wondering who brought the special kid (who else does so many freaking thumbs up?). They ended with nazi punks fuck off. I think they's do a cover of that basically everytime I've seen them. Must be a boston to london thing. they ended with out mentioning the death of jesse pintado.. sucks that they are that disestablishalmentarian. definitly not bloody long enough for them to play.

throwdown: seeing this band set up always makes me laugh. Thinking of their origins. The crowd really got into them. What else would a room full of 15yo edge kids do? This band could seriously be the spokes band for planet fitness or something. They are jacked. They covered propaganda and sent it out to the soulfly/sepultura reunion type thing. They also ended with a super long extended mega mega mix of for-my-friends-for-my-family-forever that lasted like 20 minutes and the singer stood out on the crowd.

I've now appologized to most of despised icon a couple times. they asked me for copies of some pictures a few times. I need to get more on the ball sometimes. hopefully they will get back to me with links asap. they gave me a shirt of theirs that I haven't seen before. I like when people in bands give me free shirts

black dahlia murder, the: damn, all the dudes in the band just keep losing weight. probably the first constantly touring band to do that since the coked filled days of blonde and one ms. Wendy o'williams. I'm very glad that I came down here to see these guys who can almost sell out the palladium thenselves yet still don't have roadies. they had some issues with the drums/triggers so they had to cut atleast 5 minutes off their set. Trevor started out acting just like barney on stage. Speaking of the stage, trevor stayed there for all put the part before the solo of their last song. Their 3rd song was the "tilt-a-whirl" song. When they ended, the kids in the crowd chanted for another song, but it didn't happen. The stage crew were already there on the stage pulling things off for hatebreed. to all the haters out there, I don't care. I like this band so suck it.

Those guys aren't related, one is from the US, one is from UK.

that was a joke.

BDM was insane. Whats the deal with ND singer? FB was flat compared to their insane set at the NE fest. They were so much more powerful at the fest maybe because they were on lobby stage and last night they were seperated from the crowd. I dont know if I like the new Hatebreed stuff but they shred it live.
