Relapse Records has set an October 31 North American release date (November 6th internationally) for the re-issue of legendary INCANTATION debut full-length Onward To Golgotha.

Originally released in 1991 and long heralded as one of the heaviest, sickest, and most uncompromising metal albums in the world, Onward To Golgotha redefined the bounds of brutality and blasphemy for all of death metal. The re-mastered re-issue comes complete with an extra DVD featuring three live sets from the Onward... lineup, expanded artwork and more. For more information on this re-issue, please click here.

Founder and guitarist/vocalist John McEntee comments on the re-issue: "I have been looking forward to this reissue for a long time now. I have great respect for my fellow Onward... band members Craig (Pillard-guitar/vocals), Jim (Roe-drums), and Ronnie (Deo-bass) and are very proud of what we created. It's amazing that true Blasphemous Death Metal ended up being so timeless."

McEntee adds; "When the idea of doing the reissue came up I wanted to make sure the other guys that played on the album would be involved with it. The album was truly a group effort and the reissue needed to reflect that. It was a great experience to get together with the other guys and remember all the killer times we had. We put this re-release together to make it special for all the long-time INCANTATION supporters and something that we feel represented the work we did as a band and time spent as friends."

Additionally, Onward... was recently named as one of the 20 best death metal albums of all time as well as one of the most important records in the genre by Decibel Magazine.

INCANTATION will release its forthcoming album, the bands seventh, Primordial Domination on September 5 via its own Ibex Moon Records.

Primordial Domination was recorded at Mars Recording Compound with longtime engineer Bill Korecky during the spring with the band's current lineup of McEntee, drummer Kyle Severn, and bassist Joe Lombard.

I wonder if Relapse will try to fuck 'em out of their share of sales. Hopefully not. Incantation is the nads.

Relapse has fucked that band over so many times. I can't believe Mac is dealing with them again.

Hand down their best record!!!

Bodies taken from the graves
buried under the sacred dirt
still embalmed, stiff flesh
skin burnt to the core

I still have my original CD autographed from when I saw them open for DEAD HORSE and ENTOMBED at Club Babyhead in May 1992.

this isn't being remastered is it?

if it is that's a shame, this album was so raw and brutal it should only be re-released in it's originally mastered version.

I've never had any dealings with Relapse myself but I have a lot of friends in Relapse bands. From the stories I've heard, Relapse is a billion times worse than Earache. And that is really saying something.

EMBALMER said Relapse owes them royalties for all the CDs they pressed.

Relapse tried to repress Morbid Florist behind Seth's back. He figured out what they did when he noticed it had sold more copies than were supposed to be in existence.
