Jagermeister went full board on this show. they have tons of giveways, lights, and girls tossing shirts, hats, and hoodies into the crowd. 2004 they need the shirt-bazooka like in simpsons, cause then they'll kill a useless character like maude and we can laugh at stupid flanders pain.

dry kill logic: it's not really fair for me to review the as I don't like their cd, since I'm not a fan of nu-metal. They put on an ok show, performance wise. the guy with the dreds was very animated.

arch enemy: Wicked Awesome! Granted they got the short changed on the set, I mean, look at the set list:
http://www.returntothepit.com/media.php?id...cs/2003/oct172003/arch_enemy001.jpg
6 songs = 30 minutes (3 songs from anthems, 3 songs from wages of sin). With that aside, they compacted an hours worth of rock in those 30 minutes, pulling out a killer set. Sharlee, Chris, and micheal did the guitar lines, but there wasn't enough time for angela to do her rocking out with the mic thing.
I thought it was rather odd that the singer, angela, sent out ravenous to all the guys that respect women and then they chugged into a huge sounding finale of ravenous.

hatebreed: Man, that pit was rough on one side. Though.. it was still one of the calmest hatebreed pits. They played though a bunch of new songs, old songs, and new new songs off their upcoming cd rise of brutality.
oh, and is it a hatebreed show with out lizzy pics?

nope, I don't think so.

slayer: REIGN IN BLOOD!!! playing a bunch of songs to a sold out crowd, breaking and then kicking out the WHOLE ENTIRE REIGN IN BLOOD ALBUM!!! what could be sweeter? Well, besides playing tormentor, I mean. 20 years later and slayer is still bringing in the fans and packing the house. They ripped so hard. Tons of flashing lights, smoke, and all. Plus, the person controlling the lights did cool things, like issolating either guiterists when they were tearing through solos. For the RIB portion of the show, I retreated to the balcony (where there had also been a fight) and watched as the "god hates us all" background was covered in the neo-nazi-esque RIB backdrop, like the cd cover. Angel of Death through raining blood with almost no stops. It was amazing... reminds me of being under 10 and hearing my cousin's slayer tapes, thinking I'm so slaytanic. I'm sure all the people jumping, kicked, fist-waving, and headbanging (for 1 1/2+ hrs) were re-living similar pasts.
Weird thing is there were probably 15 fights during their set. I got 15 whit points when I realized the singer of converge was standing beside me and I said "wow, they have almost more fights then your set at metalfest". the down side is that these points are redeemable no where.
http://www.returntothepit.com/media.php?id...=/pics/2003/oct172003/slayer002.jpg << set list

who will be on jager-tour 2004?
hopefully, I find out first

Did Araya do the scream at the beginning of Angel of Death?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 18,2003 4:23pm
at that point, in the balcony, I couldn't hear much of angel of death with all the kids playing air guitar and screaming allong with them.
total metal ownage.

tom sure did do the scream at beginning of angel of death. when i heard that song, i knew they were gonna play reign in blood all the way through, despite what tons of people telling me that it was just a rumor. hearing piece by piece played live made me damn near ejaculate in my underoos; it was fantastic. what was even cooler was the fact that they had old school shirt designs reprinted, along with the tour dates on the back. i wear my slayer eagle logo shirt proudly at this very moment. and that is all.

great fucking show...arch enemy and slayer were by far the best..arch enemy should have went right before slayer though..i usually enjoy hatebreed but yesterday all the songs blended togethor. dry kill logic was just horrible......

Haha, Dry Kill Logic. That is kind of like the Dimmu and Bodom show. "Hey man, guess what! Dimmu Borgir and Children Of Bodom are on tour together and they are coming to the Palladium. Yeah and Nevermore too! Yeah it will kick ass. Oh yea, and uh, Hypocracy is playing too..."

Hypocrisy is still a hell of a lot better than Dry Kill Logic.

Slayer not only ripped but were so fucking professional. First time for me, too.

God (or...) help me.

That douche who threw the thingamajig (water bottle???) at Araya's head in the beginning should fall into a lake of boiling vomit.

YES that absolutely pissed me off...I know I yelled something outloud...what a fuckin moron! I was wondering what Tom was going to do...and he was so nice about it

hypocrisy is awesome..

on every other album.

I'll bet it happens all the time, but these guys deserve respect. I think once someone (not in Mass.) threw a knife at Lemmy onstage.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 20,2003 10:24am
did they yell "cut it off" too?

i hate disrespectful morons..I was watching Social Distortion (one of my all time favorite bands)...and I also think Mike Ness, though sometimes unintelligible when he talks, is one of the nicest guys ever...anyhow...some jerk threw a beer bottle at his head ...

ugh, they should take that shit to ahockey game instead. I saw Social D in L.A. when I was younger, they're So. Cal heroes so of course it was a bit more reverent.

That's fucking ridiculous. I hate shit like that. One time someone threw a bottle at Jason Newsted during a Metallica show. I think that Jaymz said something along the lines of "You fuckin motherfucker" or something like that...

blank Does anyone know Hatebreeds set list from that show?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 20,2003 9:38pm
I tried looking for it, bu tI couldn't find it any where.
um.. I'll post it if I find it.

This was, without a doubt, the best show to hit Mass in a long time. I was amazed at how good all the bands were. Well, except Slayer, cuz that was expected. I left happy, with my poster and ticket signed by Kerry. I'm glad that this is my last show before boot camp.

anyone with 420 at the end of of their name is instantly a retard.

Lay off ra. You didnt even need something at the end of your name to claim that title.

Yeah, I didn't go either. I don't have a job and I am not really that big a Slayer fan so it wasn't really worth it for me. I want to see Arch Enemy though, I still havnt seen them and they have played the Palladium 5 times in like a year and a half.

I dont not like them. Actually about 2 months ago I was in this fucking huge argument about by not being enthralled by their music. I just dont think it is that special. I think that following up multiple pentacle-covered albums with an atheist concept album is one of the most ignorant things possible. But as far as their music goes, I just dont think it is that special. Kerry King sure as hell comes up with a lot of kick ass riffs, but the solos are always completely offkey and painful. I also dont particularly care for Tom Araya's grunting/talking style of singing, however I thoroughly enjoy his voice when he actually sings. I dont dislike them, but they are not in my top 50 or even 100 favorite bands.

I saw this tour at the Nation in DC and it was tits. Arch Enemy was great as usual, the lead singer is so charismatic. Of course their guitarists have the blazing lazer like guitar solos and the whole band is tight. Hatebreed was good. The whole crowd was chanting lyrics for both Hatebreed and Slayer. Hatebreed played some new material and I was dissapointed (but not surprised) that it sounded very similar to their current shit. They need some variety. Regardless it made me happy to see so many people rocking out. Slayer was stupendous. I have seen them 3 times and they have never dissapointed. They are the gold standard as far as metal goes and I thought Dave brought a whole new facet to them that i had never witnessed before. I love metal shows I love to see especially people my age (late 20s early 30s) revert to their childhood and rock out and this show was a great example of that spirit.
