toggletoggle post by Murph  at Aug 3,2006 10:44pm
great southern trendkill

guess just one of those bands that will never ever come minutely close to touching their first album

toggletoggle post by Phillip  at Aug 4,2006 2:21am
they new song Walk With Me In Hell is wicked good

I didnt like Redneck at all

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 4,2006 2:39am
i hated redneck...i really hope that other one is much better

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 4,2006 3:21am
this one is definitely a lot better...i don't like it as much as their other stuff though

what's going on with randy's voice? trying to do the phil thing a bit too much?

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 4,2006 10:41am
damnit why do bands have to muck things up when their original idea is working just fine. i am really apprehensive about this record, i really hope its not just some watered down GSTK.

hes trying to do the 'sounding like pantera makes you tons of money' thing. has no one not seen the dollar signs in their eyes for the past 3-4 years?

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 4,2006 12:40pm
Ashes of the Wake is great, but yes you can hear the whole money thing in it, its too polished of a record. i like how everything pre Ashes has little fuck ups here and there, especially with Randy's voice occasionally cracking. it gives it a more real effect.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Aug 4,2006 1:03pm
sounds too much like pantera i like the fast riff in the middle... randy also looks like hes going for the meshuggah look as well i enjoyed their first few records but this proves money changes everything.

new unearth is much better...

dude, im talking about as the palaces burn. the transition to their current watered down thrash sound was pretty prevalent on that cd.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 4,2006 1:20pm
i think As the Palaces Burn is their pinnacle. i'm not a big New American Gospel fan, his vocals are annoying. Burn the Priest is badass though. the Lamb of God argument will persist for eternity.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Aug 4,2006 1:58pm
i find it kind of hard to like burn the priest but not likee new american gospel, honestly. NAG sounds like a continuation of BTP.

toggletoggle post by Anthony at Aug 4,2006 2:29pm
i like this new LoG stuff alot, honestly. Lyrics are a little iffy, but whatever, music sounds like mid-late Pantera, which I cant complain about.

toggletoggle post by the rooster at Aug 4,2006 2:34pm
i don't even have to listen to know that it's aweful.

i would guess it starts off with an At The Gates/Carcass (heartwork) riff, leading into a mid-tempo beat, w/ a meshuggah rip-off "breakdown" thrown in for extra queerness.

No, it pretty much just sounds like Pantera through and through.

I have very mixed feelings on this song. Some parts are borderline numetal, but other parts I like.

no it sounds like a Pantera song from Reinventing the Steel. But the vocals and riffs arent as good. Its still good though.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 4,2006 3:16pm
it bothers me because there is only one Pantera, and to mimick them is a travesty.

I just assumed i'd be right, because when i saw them live, that pretty much summed it up.

i will never understand the hatred for LOG. i've always found them to be different than the usual garbage out there. they arent an At the Gates rip off, they arent "metalcore" or any of the stuff people usually associate with them. i dont like any of the shit they are usually lumped together with, and i fail to see most of the similarities people like to point out. i think its the fact that someone hears 30 seconds of Laid to Rest and assumes that everything else they've ever written sounds like it. i mean to each his own, but i dont get it.

It's MOSTLY because they're terrible. I hope that clears things up for you.

yeah really and people give unearth shit and say things like "oh it's nothing new, just sounds like a boring version of endless" but fuck, I'd rather listen to a boring version of endless instead of this new shit from lamb of god anyday!!!! I hate when this happens to bands.

toggletoggle post by log mf at Aug 17,2006 11:25am
fuck all you fagits your allways complaining about shit this is the next evolution in metal i've herd the whole album and its fucking crazy good. Just because redneck sound like pantera doesn't mean that the whole album sounds like that so stop being whiny cunts and realize that Lamb of god is the future of metal: oh also trivium, shadows fall, killswitch engage, and god forbid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 bitches!

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Aug 17,2006 11:35am
I have the whole new album, it's not entirely the worst thing I've ever heard, kinda sounds like what I'd expect a hybrid SYL/Pantera album to sound like.

I agree about the new Unearth though, I do think it's better on the whole then the new LoG

this kid reminds me of when i first started posting here about 3 1/2 years ago would tell people they sucked for hating diecast.

joke was on me.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Aug 17,2006 12:44pm
I have the new lamb of god and its nasty. Sure redneck is trendkill all over again but the rest of the album isnt like that. Its more of the same lamb of god that everyone on here bitches about except there is a lot more variations in the way randy sings. Sometimes he pulls a rob zombie and gets kinda singy/screamy/whispery. Its deffinately trying to hard to be radio but its still good music. Oh I almost forgot fuck all you death/grind/black metal trend riders. The whole "its cool to hate" thing is getting old. How many times can you listen to 16th notes and triplets dubbed over vomiting? There is way more to music than the shredding and blast beats. Get a fucking clue people, wake up!!!

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 17,2006 12:46pm
i am a huge Lamb of God fan and i will say that it sucks. i havent heard the whole album, but i cant imagine that it is completely different than "Redneck". seems a bit odd to write one bad song amongst 10 spectacular ones.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Aug 17,2006 1:07pm
You should just download it and if you like it buy it if not oh well, you tried.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Aug 17,2006 1:10pm
The whole sound like pantera thing was some sort of a joke it seems. Watch the video, randy imitates Phil the whole time, hes got all the famous phil moves down pat. He even has a bald head. Believe me the rest of the album is not like that song. They do try some different singing styles but the music is Lamb of God, NOT PANTERA

toggletoggle post by log mf at Aug 18,2006 11:47am
thank you dude. Im just tired of people hating on good bands just because a new album doesn't sound like all other fucking album they've done. Good bands grow musiclly and thats what LOG is doing. If you listen to the second megadeth record and rust in peace its completely different but both are great albums. People who hate because something is not what they expected it to be have a lack of intelligence! lol so all of you haters out there in this message board GO FUCK YOUR MOTHER!!!!!!!

toggletoggle post by Anthony nli at Aug 18,2006 11:52am
listened to most of Sacrament last night. Best Lamb of God record I've heard. It's pretty damn good.

And the Pantera worship is completely rampant on Redneck but is hardly present in most of the other songs.

toggletoggle post by Anthony nli at Aug 18,2006 11:54am
even if you didnt like previous LoG records (which I didnt really, except for some songs off New American Gospel and most of As the Palaces Burn) check this one out. It might surprise you.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 18,2006 11:55am
people have their right to an opinion. if you want to talk about someone who's supported this band, both my gf and I have been both fans and friends with this band since they switched names. there was a time when their site was all my photos and succubus's ( http://www.defyunlearn.com ). with that said, I hear Redneck live and it sounded great. I hear Redneck on CD and er.. it was not so good. I'm holding out that the new CD is better than that one track, but if they asked me what I thought of the new CD and it all sounded like Redneck, I would tell them the same thing.

toggletoggle post by Phillip  at Aug 18,2006 4:29pm
the new Lamb of God album leaked and is suprisingly good
I wasnt expecting to like it at all, I didnt like Ashes of the Wake at all
but this album has some killer songs
Redneck isnt definetly the weakest track
