MSNBC Anchor Contessa Brewer interviewing National Security Expert James Bamford this morning:

Brewer: "You say there was this secret group within the Pentagon - war thirsty idealogues, basically - who get together with a bunch of lobbyists for Israel, and they start plotting about how they could push the United States into a war, and you even go as far as to say that Israel was planting spies within the administration. That's shocking to hear, were you shocked when you started uncovering this sort of evidence?

Bamford: "Oh sure I was, I wasn't very surprised after I'd seen what happened in Iraq, it was the same group of people that were planning the events in Iran, but I was surprised to actually see it so blatant. And again, this isn't speculation, those are words that came out of the indictment, an indictment that Larry Franklin plead guilty to. What APAC, the Israeli lobby, was saying to Franklin, who was their spy, was that 'we want to place you at the elbow of the President'; those were the exact words, at the elbow of the President, in the White House, put him in the National Security Council where he can influence the President. At the time, President Bush was tending to side with the State Department and Colin Powell more towards diplomacy with Iran; what these officials in the Pentagon were pushing was for war with Iran, regime change."

Brewer: "And they were trying to figure out how to come up with intelligence that would convince the President to move on that, to take action on that. I'm curious, now, years later, does it still seem like the President is siding with diplomacy and the State Department, and how much influence in the Pentagon do these guys really have?"

Bamford: "Well, they still have a great deal of influence. The United States is the only country in the world that was behind Israel in terms of not wanting an immediate cease-fire, and look what's happened now; the plan was to push from Israel into Lebanon and then Syria and on up to Iran, and it looks like pretty much the fulfillment of what they wanted. The only problem is it's going to end up very similar to the way Iraq ended up, with a total mess, total chaos, and lots of people getting killed - but the one thing that's for certain is that the neo-cons who came up with this war are not going to be among the people being killed."

Is this really shocking to anyone? To hear that somewhere in the US government poeple are trying to start a war?

Nah. Just how powerful an influence those people still have on our foreign policy, even when it's abundantly clear to an infant that those policies will be self-destructive for America. Plus, a lot of people are not aware that Israeli spies have been helping shape US foreign policy (I sure wasn't), and it carries an especially ominous tone given the current events that are unfolding in the Middle East, and how those events are rapidly accelerating the worldwide shift of support away from us and towards militants as the lesser of two evils.

Decisions made by neo-con civilian leaders in the Pentagon and neo-con think tanks are shaping a future of immeasureable death for our children and grandchildren, which they will not be able to escape whether they be civilian or military, despite the fact no one ever voted for those neo-con policies in the first place. Only about a fifth of our population (being generous) really support neo-con idealogy, and yet it's hijacked our foreign policy for six years. Now we expect to tell other countries with no democracy, constitution, or seperation of church and state that THEY need to try harder to keep their fundamentalists in check?

There's been plenty of fucked up shit that has happened with our government over the years, true, but nothing in our history resembles this extremist hijacking of US foreign policy, let alone in a climate where Americans universally believe that extremism is the greatest threat facing us.

FEAR
"Let's Have A War"

[Chorus:]
There's so many of us
There's so many of us
There's so many [x2]
There's so many of us
There's so many of us
There's so many

Let's have a war
So you can go and die!
Let's have a war!
We could all use the money!
Let's have a war!
We need the space!
Let's have a war!
Clean out this place!

It already started in the city!
Suburbia will be just as easy!

[Chorus]

Let's have a war!
Jack up the Dow Jones!
Let's have a war!
It can start in New Jersey!
Let's have a war!
Blame it on the middle-class!
Let's have a war!
We're like rats in a cage!

It already started in the city!
Suburbia will be just as easy!

[Chorus]

Let's have a war!
Sell the rights to the networks!
Let's have a war!
Let our wallets get fat like last time!
Let's have a war!
Give guns to the queers!
Let's have a war!
The enemy's within!

It already started in the city!
Suburbia will be just as easy!

Burzum "War"

This is War
I Lie Wounded on Wintery Ground
With Hundred of Corpses around
Many Wounded Crawl Helplessly around
On the Blood Red Snowy Ground
War
Cries of the (ha, ha) Suffering Sound
Cries for Help to All Their Dead Moms
War
Many Hours of Music
Many Drops of Blood
Many Shiverings and Now I Am Dead
And Still We Must Never Give up
War

Cannibal Corpse "Pounded Into Dust"

Forces of hate meet
Gather for the siege
Encircling their foe
The raid begins
Their revenge is sought
Through violence, smashing, killing, stabbing, pounding
Iron weapons clash
Evil warriors strike
Hammers cracking skulls
Axes chopping heads
Their revenge is now
Through violence, crushing, maiming, hacking, pounding

Blood soaks the ground
In their own, they will drown
Surrounded by disgust
Pounded into dust

Battle rages on
Bleeding wounded scream
Clubs shatter bones
Swords sever limbs
Their blind rage compells
Their frenzy, bloodlust, madness, burning, hatred
Berzerkers overwhelm
Defenders run in fear
No prisoners today
The end is near
Their blind age endless
No mercy lay waste, wipe out, kill them, kill them

Their struggle to defend
The attack will never end
Surrounded by disgust
Pounded into dust

The captured will be crucified as a warning to the rest
When the killing is completed the city will be burned
Their way of life will be destroyed, no trace of them remains

Annihilate
They lay waste
Eradicate
Victory for their hatred, fury, raging, pounding

Blood soaks the ground
In their own, they will drown
Surrounded by disgust
Pounded into dust

Israel v. Hezbollah is a proxy war of the U.S. v. Iran
Of course this is all going to exponentially grow into something much larger and more significant.

Iran OPENLY supports Hezbollah to the extent to which it is almost comparable the support the U.S. gives to Israel.

I agree. As I put it recently, Israel is our pitbull and Hezbollah is Iran's pitbull; we both have the power and influence to reign in our pitbulls if we choose to, but we just say we have no direct control and let them go at it, until eventually they gnaw our faces off.

Israel is our pitbull and Hezbollah is Iran's pitbull

I was honestly just thinking the same exact thing seconds before I read this. I have never heard anyone refer to Hezbollah as Iran's pitbull, however, considering the fact that Israel is often refered to as the U.S. pitbull I seriously just had that realization.

It is more like two cocks fighting, and their owners get the "prize"

I said cocks.

they need to legalize cock fighting and put it on On Demand. i would totally watch that. the video for "Crush My Soul" by Godflesh has cock fighting in the beginning, which i cant correlate to the song whatsoever.
