Anyone following this show on VH1?

i watched last nights the maiden section was sastisfying

the van halen and priest stuff is always good

theyre not doing a bad job, i just dont have good hopes for the upcoming portions (late 80s). i have a feeling they are going to do a horrible job with that era.

I was watching it before class today, the Van Halen was on, looked decent.

It is a decent telling but it just lacks something....

I liked the heavy metal pub in england where they cranked Maiden and played air guitar

tonight is part 4..."the dark side of metal"
they better have tons of MF and Bathory

i pray they go over the obscure thrash era of the late 80's/early 90's. there were so many cool underground thrash acts.

I just read the preview: Conclusion. A look at guns and roses, metallica, slipknot, korn, limp bizkit, and maryln manson. "dark side of metal"? I feel sick..........

this series is garbage in my opinion, they throw all the hair metal and pop bands and surround them only a few of the real important genre creating bands like maiden and sabbath. Kiss, Def Leppard, Poison, ect shouldnt be associated with those bands. they spent little time on motorhead. if there is no reference to Real influential bands like, celtic frost, venom, bathory, slayer, death, that spawed entire genres of black metal, death, thrash, then its sickening. but, Ill be watching anyway

They keep refering to 80's glam rock bands as "metal". Sorry, but Poison and the like are not metal, and never have been. Metal bands would not be caught dead wearing pink hair, makeup, and playing pop hooks. Venom, Slayer, Pentagram, Metallica, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Sepultura, Judas Priest, St. Vitus, Anthrax, etc. should've been covered in any 80's METAL program, not the glam rock scene. VH1 don't know their ass from their elbow when it comes to metal.

All these Metal specials on TV arnt that good.They fail to mention the underground bands(Slayer,Cannibal Corpse,Sodom,Napalm Death etc.).And the underground is where the true Metal is.
