As Promised, I'm giving RTTP first dibbs on this, cuz Rev has been there from the beginning for us. he came to our very first show at Skips basement!!! haha. Aaron, seriously man thank you for all the pics, and all the support, you totally helped us out more then you know, that first time you let us perform at the radio show meant so much to us, and we've always appreciated everything you have done for us and the scene.

with that here is the news on us splitting up.

Hartford CT’s Invocation of Nehek have decided to call it quits. Invocation Of Nehek, released a self-titled record on Prosthetic records. Guitarist Robb Cyr had this to say about the split.

“Over the last 5 years ION has had so many great experiences, and we have met so many awesome people, and we are truly grateful for all of it, we sadly have come to a point where it was just time to move on. Although this is a sad moment for us, we know that it is best. When this band started it was meant just meant to be something fun to do on weekends, ION exceeded all of our expectations, trust me you don’t name a band ‘Invocation of Nehek’ and expect to get a record deal or tour the country. We are all still great friends, and will support each other in any new projects, Keep your eyes peeled because you certainly haven’t seen the last of all us. We’d like to thank everyone that we have met along the way, and who have helped us out in some way shape or form. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. “

We will be playing a last show JUNE 10th at The Sons of Italy in Torrington CT. The show details will be in the show listing on our myspace. But we have a special thing going on for this show, We will be having both OLD and NEW line ups of ION playing at this show, Tom and Rob agreed to come back for this last show, so you’ll get the rare opportunity to see a ION in all of it’s forms. this is not one to be missed.

for a more detailed write up on this, please visit our myspace page, as i will soon be posting a longer more detailed write up.

It seems like everytime a New England band puts out a CD and starts getting bigger and touring alot , they break up.

Post-hardcore-ish "ex-members-of" bands?

I'm betting on yes.

Every time a band breaks up, instead of new brutal bands you get post-hardcore bands.

sigh.

funny, I have the letter from rob when he sent me their first demo telling me who he was and asking me about playing it.
will it's value go up or down?

toggletoggle post by Robb ION at May 7,2006 8:30pm
ummm unless it was written on gold paper, which i don't recall using, i'm somewhat positive that it's value is $0.00

toggletoggle post by sever at May 7,2006 8:32pm
$0.01

Another amazing fucking band, one of the most original "core" bands i've ever heard. I'll be catching this show, just sucks that they're done.
