I remember that

In eighth grade I started playing with what would become Cryptic Warning. We covered 'It's So Easy' and 'Am I Evil'.... I think

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at May 6,2006 3:07pm
You never should've stopped covering those songs. If I was at a show and a band ripped those out, I'd lose my mind.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at May 6,2006 3:23pm
way back when the drummer and two guitarists of the current DC were in a band called night eternal...we too covered "Am I Evil?"

No rapping, just terrible terrible nu metal.

somehow i knew the 8th grade comment was coming from one direction or another...

As a side note, I stole the main riff of the first song we wrote from the background music of a Rugrats episode.

Thanks Mark Mothersbaugh.

I was in a band called the Masterbating Geeks in high school

I was in a band called Vagina Erection in 8th grade, how we weren't a Japcore band is beyond me.

I was in a thrash/rap band called .357 Noise (now called 'rapcore' of course). A rapper. You have been beaten.

toggletoggle post by pam   at May 7,2006 1:36pm
I was in a band called Sedate that never practiced, wrote a song, or existed beyond drawing the band logo on stuff in class. Also 8th grade.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at May 7,2006 1:38pm
The only way someone could beat me is if they were in a boy band or an emo-hair band and had the pictures to prove it. Then they win, hands down.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at May 7,2006 2:45pm
i was in a band called braddis and the boys in 7th grade (1992) that didn't even have instruments. we just recorded mouth riffs and vocals on my friend's karaoke machine. our songs were mostly about satan and animal abuse, but we also covered the theme song to cheers.

when i was like 6 i wrote a cheesy 80s song called "bad beast"

the hook went:

D---A------D---A------C(strum)---------------------D(strum)------------------
"bad beast, bad beast, you think you're the bread, but you're just the yeast!"

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at May 7,2006 3:13pm

Then I moved up here and joined Dambella and Morgul.
Then in Fla again it was : Cattle Scraps
Then in Philly it was : Prototype:Infinity
Then in Nh again it was Bent Hogan
and now Hand Choke Neck.
All horrible horrible names.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at May 7,2006 3:53pm
Prototype: Infinity? Hahah was that some sort of prog band?

Cattle Scraps is a good name.

toggletoggle post by Sacreligion at May 7,2006 3:54pm

and i was in some other stupid bands that were so bad they didnt deserve names.

I'm still waiting for anyone else who can beat the fact that I was a white rapper.

Grind bands with funny names are commonplace and acceptable.

toggletoggle post by kok at May 8,2006 12:32am
SRPD was fuckin hilarious, Todd....I remember gettin hammahed and listenin to that and pukin from laughing....hilarious.
I havent owned a Morgul demo for years...like 12 years. Havent heard it in 10. DAMMIT!. I bet Todd Reil and Eric are the only 2 ppl that own it.

Prototype:Infinity was an Industrial/Metal side project, I did with two guitarists from Insatanity, in Jersey, when I lived in Phila.
Dan Roberts wrote everything and sequenced it, I just played live with them.
Dan is one of the few ppl I'd call a musical genius....fuckin amazing songwriter.

Mike from Life@zero was the vox for Bent Hogan, as we share a strengthened bond of girls pissing, and tits on stage.
ahhh good fuckin times.

Beating the fact that you were once a white rapper is simply impossible.
You, have won this event!

None has seen or heard from Todd Reil in quite a while, So I dunno about that, As far as the Morgul Demo, I lost or let someone borrow mine long ago, And Eric can't seem to find his copy either, We both been lookin for years...Suck too cuz I think that still kills most of the local stuff today. And yes SRPD was hilarious, just a joke band really, but no one was doin that sorta thing around here at the time, that is why I think it went nowhere, Eric and I wanted to re-record that stuff a few years back, But we can't find that demo either.. Funny thing is, I still got the notebook with all the song lyrics in it hahah! The demo was like 17 songs in like 9 minutes

i was only cool enough to make a band out of Legos and play music and pretend they were playing.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at May 8,2006 3:23pm
I was in the same band, we just changed our name a bunch
my nu metal band started out as being called the Bitter End, then we were called Deadlock, then we settled on Spekulit
by the time we were spekulit we were a wierd, ambient, reverb drenched kind of post nu metal...we were still horrible, though

I had a few bands when I was in 8th and 9th grade...Shredder (Never actually even got down a song, although we were somehow a band for 6 months. The drummer couldn't drum, the singer couldn't sing, and the bassist stole money from the other guitarist), 4th Realm (A bizarre alternative/mallcore-meets-old-school-metal band. If we kept going it probably would've sounded like Coheed and Cambria or something), and Sinistral (Only lasted one practice)...and my solo project was (Insert Band Name Here).

i've been in braddis and the boys (mouth riff band), dreaded silence (my main band - melodic metal), tyrant falcon (cheesy power metal), corky snatcher (retard grind), mongoloid armageddon (stupid keyboard and drum machine improv retardedness), bilabial fricative orchestra (music made from farts), xasis (acoustic rock) urethral rerouting (aids infested poopgrind), and i'll hopefully be starting bochnagar, my black metal tribute to ernie boch, and a katatonia cover band.
