oh sorry the "i have one guess" made me think of one name when it comes to booking doom bands in boston so i said joe. cause even when i saw it i thought joe booked it. and if you booked this show why are you asking who the promoter is.

you already answered your own question

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Apr 24,2006 6:03pm
i looked on the events page...i think he means he booked his own show on the same date..but i might be wrong..just a guess

"and I'm sure this is already on the events page..." - Rev

which it's not.

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at Apr 24,2006 6:06pm
haha yeah but this show is happening, i know that much.

and i think SOB, and Ocean are playing a show at the Skybar or something the same night. there's already two threads about this show. one of me asking about it and one that Ray made up with a kickassed flyer.

theres always enough doom to go around

The lineup for SunnO)) this time around includes Mark Deutrom, Oren Ambarchi, Atsuo Mizuno (Boris) will join from Minneapolis onward, and as always Greg Anderson and Stephen O\'Malley.

The Keen of the Crow show is where it's at!

I don't understand why anyone would choose Sunn over this when they played like 4 months ago, and will play here again. Did Morgion even ever play here (I'm a recent transplant, pardon the ignorance)? I spent a better part of a decade growing up in Arkansas wanting to see those guys play and I never got the chance. God could be playing in my apartment that night and I would still be at this show. Keen of the Crow rules, Shroud rules, Godless Rising rules, and of course Ocean totally fucking rules rules.

So basically, this will rule!

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Apr 24,2006 7:44pm
hell yeah man!

I too have never see Morgion, and i am glad that someone is excited with me! I have been waiting for a good 15 years or so for this. I have their demo, if you need a copy let me know.

DOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Apr 24,2006 7:45pm
I wuill post the flyer for the exact date as soon as my woman wakes up. she made it last week.

Not to toot my own horn twice, but if you miss Grief on Thursday, you can always go see them Saturday with Hatchet, Extinction Agenda, and Hirudinea at Reflections in Chelmsford!

WOW I thought i was suppoting this tour by help Booking it in Providence On the 16th (I.E. BoB Otis and myself) but whatever.

1. I think its pretty fucked up that you would come out and say support one show and not another. i don't think I, myself, in the best of my knowlege have ever said not to supoort something on this board. or any shows for that matter rather Good luck to both shows.

2. to the best of my knowlege when this tour was being booked this date was originally intended for the middle east. i know myself, Joe Not common, Jeff From Godless Rising, and even the guys in Keen were under the idea that it was booked on this date. i know for a fact that joe had got this date for the middle east and was a little erked to find it was booked at another venue ( as were other people on this tour)

3. if the package is strong than the package is strong i don't think there is any need for this type of bullshit "don't support this but support this"

Lastley good luck with your show man i wish nothing but success for everyone

I don't think this was done with any sort of animosity, but I don't know Dan or his intentions, so I can't even pretend to speak for him. Seems like it was more playful to me.

I was originally booking the Sunn show, and I totally forgot it was the same date as the Keen of the Crow show initially, but they are on tour and we wouldn't have been able to change the date anyway. Just one of those bad timing things, which is unfortunate but can't really be helped.

Combining the shows would have been awesome, but Sunn's people are very particular about only having two opening bands.

toggletoggle post by SuperFly at Apr 25,2006 12:31pm
grief was asked to play this show so long ago i can't even remember when it was. whatever, just say "no" to drama, and yes to drugs/alcohol.

toggletoggle post by sinofangels-ray  at Apr 25,2006 12:31pm
YES!!!!!!!

toggletoggle post by SuperFly at Apr 25,2006 12:40pm
I can say no now, I can't say yes until after 5. and i'll be saying it a whole lot.

actually, joe told me that he couldn't get us that date and being a tour we couldn't switch it around. by the way, i was being sarcastic, we all know how this scene works. nothing against that show guys. i love soa and greif. it is indeed a bummer bout the 2 on the same night.

I did however work hard to get this whole tour together, and i would hate to not have a big crowd to welcome the morgion guys. They do deserve it. they are doom metal legends and an honor for me to be part of the whole thing.

either way guys, we should (both crowds) have great shows and then after, all hook up at my place for a big party!!!!!!!!! in the name of Doom!!!!!!!!

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 27,2006 5:39pm
The date I could have got at the Middle East for Keen of the Crow was the 16th, which wasn't booked anywhere at the time and is now the Providence date so turning it down instead of swapping it was not necessary. Also, I had the date confirmed with you guys and the Middle East and nobody even told me it wasn't going that way until Skinny Ray got a bulletin about the tour being at Skybar.

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Apr 27,2006 11:07pm
Rhett from Morgion told me Boston date for the 18th and that was that man. He basically booked the entire tour, I just did exactly what he wanted. We did discuss it being on a Tuesday night and he was against the idea. I would have loved to have had the show at the mid east man.

All in all, I actually like the Skybar, they have a stage that we fit on and the sound is great.

I appreciate you trying to help, remember I came to you Joe. Ultimately, it was Rhetts decision.
