My dad saw the Beatles at Boston Garden in '64.

My mom saw the Yardbirds. I was bugging her for info about it. From what I could gather it was '67 or '68, when Jimmy Page was in the band.

That's it. My parents weren't "cool kids" apparently.
Although my mom took me to several awesome shows when I was too young to go by myself. My mom has seen Kiss twice, she saw Iron Maiden on the Powerslave tour. She saw Metallica with Cliff. A few others too.

I had a girlfriend who's parents met at a ZZ Top show in the 70's.

My mother went to the Beatles show at Shea stadium. The one where the screams of teenaged girls, were so loud, that the Beatles couldnt tell that they were out of tune.

I asked my Dad if he went to Woodstock, seeing as how were from NY, he said
"why the hell would I go sit in the mud for 3 days when Ive already seen EVERY single band already?"
Good point I guess.

I saw Floyd in I think '93 so not that bad. I think that was the year, but hard to tell with all the acid I was on.

The opening band was 'Trouble'

Yeah, the Yardbirds were like the grandfathers of heavy metal. All the bands that spawned metal can be traced back to the Yardbirds (Cream, Jeff Beck Group, Led Zeppelin)

my dad is standing right here and is very impressed someone "on this hard metal board" knows who chick corea is. he said he saw him in the late 70's with Gary Burton and then Al DeMeola a guitarist that would put any "hard metal" guitarist to shame (this is his exact words guys). He then saw the Chick Corea Electric Band back in 1993 and was blown away.
