dan will get here for the last 2 bands then.

despised icon: their set started off ok and got better as they got in to the set. Both singers kept jumping into the crowd, keeping the limited staff running over to get behind them. Since they were involved the crowd got into it more than they would. I'm guessing this will be the only band where the singer goes into the crowd. The main singer mentioned the fact that they played in ashland and sent a song out to everyone who went to that should. He said that 3 other times they were suppose to play, but eachtime something happened and they couldn't. anyone who missed them is lame. they got a 30 minute set.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 8,2006 8:35pm
oh, DI only had one guitar player. lame.

krisiun s setting up. they get until 9:30.
behemoth 9:45 to 10:30.
morbid angel 11pm on.
maze of torment is being played and I believe it's their 3rd song. not that I saw the setlist already.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 8,2006 9:23pm
krisiun: unholy christ one a freaking pogostick (sorry, they played dead milkmen before the show), their set was punishing. If I didn't have earplugs in I'm pretty sure I would be dead now. The kick drum was destroying my hearing through my ear plugs. I love the fact that kids in the front row were holding up the brazillian flag for the ENTIRE set. Some one behind it was trying to take a picture of the band and just kept getting the flag. They played a good mix of tracks, including my favorite off the new CD "vicious wrath". The singer's stage batter I thought was the same since I saw them in 2000/2001, but no. The first talk back was the same limited catch phrases, but the one after that was well said and showed that they did in fact know english. They fake ended with conquoring armagaddon too. Yeah! it was funny cause some chubby kid with a mohawk (see the trendy thread) tried to crowd surf, but it took all the people around him quite a bit of time to get him up, but then he was pulled out again with in minutes. the crowd was packed by this point. I'm glad that all the metalheads finally come out. it was also funny to see behemoth rocking out to them from the side of the stage in their full makeup.
at the very end of the set, the singer put his bass into the crowd to the brazillian flag people and almost got pulled off the stage.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 8,2006 9:59pm
I'm typing out the review for behemoth now, but I have to interject. if you are a "metalhead" and you aren't here right this second, either sell all you metal CDs to some one who is here, or kill your self. they are fucking amazing.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 8,2006 10:25pm
behemoth: ok.. When every band trumps ever other band in that "stealing the show" sort of way, you know you are at a kick ass show. They were insane. They entire set was crazy. They moved all around the stage and then *bang* in the right place at the right time for everything. The singer would come right out and showboat for the crowd on the edge of the stage. At first I thought it was hough on drums. The drummer looked massive, but he's just got a higher stool. The drums were more technical and less focusing on the double kick like krisiun do so their set wasn't as pain full. They had a killer light set up too. Tons of colors and flashing lights. the number of crowd surfers picked up too. This was also the highest number of polish flags I've ever see at a show. Before their "encore" they sort of did that echoy solo thing that trey does every show. the singer come out in a mask and a dress type thing (looking like a centobite). they played a couple songs and the mask came off quickly. then ran off the stage saying thank you. the house music came on, but the lights didn't really. then the singer came back on stage minus the dress and told every one to yell. everyone of course did and then the house music cut out and they played ANOTHER SONG. I have never seen and opener do that in my memory. I give this set an 11. so tight, so much energy, so awesome.

for some reason the singer of senseless mutilation just came up to tom (rusted angel) all friendly, then headbutted him and threw him over the barricade/bar in the front. if he had done that 1' to closer to me it would have knocked all my gear on the ground. no one knows what's up

Good show! Nice turnout (Rev? Where the hell were you? I didn't see you wandering!) and always cool to see metalhead friends from shows past. That is always cool. And the little dude was there too! He's always at the shows (I forget his name, but cool dude). So overall I was pleased with the sets and the turnout. Behemoth was as awesome as last years show. Krisiun I haven't seen since 2000/2001 but were great. Morbid with DV back onboard was a treat as I have only seen em 3 times so far. Sick drumming!

Opening band was *ok* in my books. I'd have rather had another death or black metal band but they did good. Could have used a 2nd guitarist though to fill out the sound a bit more. Good time had by all!

toggletoggle post by DEATH2ALL  at Apr 9,2006 1:30am

toggletoggle post by Josh_hates_you  at Apr 9,2006 1:33am
DI - they sounded bad. stupid sound guys slacking off for the opener. lack of second guitar was very noticable. wasn't really feeling it.

Krisiun - holy kick drum. brutal set.

Behemoth - they sounded great and everything was rock solid. i hated those fucking lights.

Morbid Angel - i was expecting death metal when some U2 sounding pop band played instead. I suck at writing reviews for good shows, only when shit goes wrong do I have something to say.

What he said.

And then the Crebain/Leviathan split, then Xasthur's "Suicide in Dark Serenity", then Wigrid "Hofnungstod" (aren't I grim and frostbitten?) and saved myself $50 without having to smell Behemoth fans - consistently the most putrid fanbase I've seen yet (while Opeth fans are the most deserving of beating and exile, their moms bathrooms ARE stocked with soap).

Saw Morbid for free with Soulfly and while I wouldn't mind hearing the alleged same set again... did I mention I saved $50, listened to great shit on my new stereo and didn't have to smell the unbathed metal populace. Krisiun I'm all set with and I'll probably see Despised Icon at five CT American Legion halls by the end of the year.

me and my friend decided to skip the first band, and showed up at the palladium just in time to see the almighty KRISIUN rip shit up; these guys put on a really fuckin good show, absolutely crushing; i for one was very impressed.

next up was BEHEMOTH. i love thier stuff, but to me they weren't as good as krisiun, kinda sounded like shit, but put on a good performance overall, lots of energy on that stage.

finally the great MORBID ANGEL came on. they rocked the fuckin house with a beautiful onslaught of tunes from the good old days. awesome set, but i wish they'd played more songs from "blessed are the sick", that seems to be a sadly underrated album. beats the hell out of "altars..." in my opinion.

great fuckin show overall - krisiun and morbid angel left the biggest impression on me for the night; after the show me and my friend chatted with dan from shroud of bereavement and some other people that were far beyond intoxicated, which was quite amusing. i had a great time!

This show was fucking INSANE!! Aaron! How did I not see you?

DESPISED ICON- Don't care, wasn't there. This band sucks.

KRISIUN- DRRRRUUMMMMMMSSS!! I was happy to see Krisiun but when I got there Chris and I ran down to watch them. They were so SICK!! The drummer is a fucking machine. It's fun watching Chris get all excited over drummers, like a kid in a toy store. They were SO good, I can't get over it. I couldn't stop laughing once it occured to me that Alex sounds like StrongBad

BEHEMOTH- After the crushing disappointment of their newer material sounding like Nile (who I can't fucking stand), it was great to see them play some older stuff. I love their lights, they bring the lights with them on every tour. They did a great job.

I was pretty drunk by now so I was having a great time.

MORBID ANGEL- I would have paid 43 dollars for MA alone. I was in back for a couple songs before I ran down to the front to join DomesticTerror on the floor. THEY WERE AMAZING. So much so I completely overlooked Vincent's silly little PVC tank top. I went back up to get another beer and ran into more people. I'm really unhappy about the lack of Blessed Are The Sick songs, but I think I broke my neck when they played "Fall From Grace".

I can't move my neck between Friday at DeeDee's and Last night.

I think the highlight of the night for me was watching Jeremy OakKnoll smile and wave to John Dwyer, who promptly flipped him off.

Palladium sound was mediocre, as I expected it to be, but still this show was unreal.

DESPISED ICON - Definitely very cool to see them, as I dig 'The Healing Process' quite a bit. Their drummer was insanely nasty and his kit sounded awesome.

KRISIUN - My first time seeing them.... holy shit. They are very powerful performers and completely kicked my ass. Great choice of songs for the setlist too. Sooooo much respect to these guys; they are the real deal.

BEHEMOTH - They were definitely good and their image and stage presence is very impressive, but it seemed a little plastic to me. Especially coming after Krisiun, who were so raw and didn't need any makeup/skirts/helmets/weird metal poles. Still though, Behemoth destroyed and I'd love to see them again.

MORBID ANGEL - Even though I love 'Gateways...', I really didn't care that they didn't play anything past 'Domination.' The set was unbelievable. David Vincent is one of the best metal frontmen I've ever seen. Doing the claw and singing along to 'Bow to me faithfully...' was the most satisfying metal experience I've had in a long time haha.

Thank you a million times over to the Sexcrement guys for saving my stranded ass last night. I had a fun time hanging out with you guys after the show.

Okay, I was absolutely hammered last night. I am not fit to right a review. Allow me to clarify, we were there at 4:30, with 50 beers, a bottle of jager, 3 lbs steak tips and 16 hot dogs. watch it go. then the pot comes, yeah guy. then I upchucked some of bobby's whiskey on the way in. Caught Krisiun right as they were doing Bloodshed. I was pumped they played Vengeance Revelation. Adam and I were up front being those guys plowing everyone around. I helped fly the brazilian flag too. After that I don't remember all that much from the show, except spilling a bunch of people's beer from sheer excitement from Krisiun. Morbid Angel was awesome, I thought I was too drunk and forgot, but sure enough they played nothing after Domination. It was awesome. Thanks to Pam, Dana, Chris, and Roy for buying me beers, together we are legion. After the show I fell hard and bloodied up my leg sick. Anthony, did you guys finish the food back in framingham?? It was great seeing El Justin and Vesgore driving 3 + hours to this show, GOOD PARTY GUYS!!

Morbid Angel: the set was long ans packed with older tracks. why are there so many good MA songs. Hell, they didn't even play a lot of my favorites (covenant I'm looking you way..though they played 4 songs from it, I wanted lion's den). morbidly dressed david vincent came out and had two lights pointed up at him. Honestly, I would have rathered trey and the guy from onstrosity have them instead, but whatever. As for live banter, it seems to me that vincent acts like he's still in the genitortures. The guy from monstrosity has been in the band for a long time now so he's awesome (thouh he fit right in front the start). I could never picture him playing monstrosity songs.. I think he'd get bored after running finger trials with trey. the drumming was again punishing for them. OK, when vincent stopped the show and talked to the bouncers and then called them everyone's friend, that ruled. he's trying to win my heart I think.

I went up to the balcony to catch the last few songs from their set. from back there, dave's vocals were much better. I really can wait to hear what he sounds like on CD. wonder what it's going to be called. they probably have most of it written by this point.

I went down to the floor for world of shit. good stuff.

me and my friend decided to skip the first band, and showed up at the palladium just in time to see the almighty KRISIUN rip shit up; these guys put on a really fuckin good show, absolutely crushing; i for one was very impressed.

next up was BEHEMOTH. i love thier stuff, but to me they weren't as good as krisiun, kinda sounded like shit, but put on a good performance overall, lots of energy on that stage.

finally the great MORBID ANGEL came on. they rocked the fuckin house with a beautiful onslaught of tunes from the good old days. awesome set, but i wish they'd played more songs from "blessed are the sick", that seems to be a sadly underrated album. beats the hell out of "altars..." in my opinion.

great fuckin show overall - krisiun and morbid angel left the biggest impression on me for the night; after the show me and my friend chatted with dan from shroud of bereavement and some other people that were far beyond intoxicated, which was quite amusing. i had a great time!

despised icon: their set started off ok and got better as they got in to the set.

I think he mentioned the Ashland show because I yelled that they were better there. The Palladium sound killed them...that, and the lack of the second guitarist.
