you're going to go out at 10:00 and pay 20 bucks just to see one band? jeez. i'd just stay home if i were you. personally i'm fuckin psyched about seeing krisiun and behemoth as well as morbid angel, if not slightly more so, since i already saw morbid angel once. |

I read an article in Decibel magazine about the recording of Altars of Madness. It says that Trey studied the Necronomicon(Book of the Dead) and that influenced the some of the songs on that album. |
isn't that a fairly common thing? |
I heard about the rerecording too.
I'm on the rod now |
yeah, the studying necronomicon back in the day was like wearing girl pants today. |
no they mean rod...MY rod |
hm.. I'm here. it's not that packed and they have a 3 song rule in effect. lame.
the show is filling in. |
Of course its not packed, its an old school Death Metal show.Shows are nevr packed around here.At least as far as the ones I go to. |
leaving now, be there by 930 ish
late as usual |
dan will get here for the last 2 bands then.
despised icon: their set started off ok and got better as they got in to the set. Both singers kept jumping into the crowd, keeping the limited staff running over to get behind them. Since they were involved the crowd got into it more than they would. I'm guessing this will be the only band where the singer goes into the crowd. The main singer mentioned the fact that they played in ashland and sent a song out to everyone who went to that should. He said that 3 other times they were suppose to play, but eachtime something happened and they couldn't. anyone who missed them is lame. they got a 30 minute set. |
oh, DI only had one guitar player. lame.
krisiun s setting up. they get until 9:30.
behemoth 9:45 to 10:30.
morbid angel 11pm on.
maze of torment is being played and I believe it's their 3rd song. not that I saw the setlist already. |
krisiun: unholy christ one a freaking pogostick (sorry, they played dead milkmen before the show), their set was punishing. If I didn't have earplugs in I'm pretty sure I would be dead now. The kick drum was destroying my hearing through my ear plugs. I love the fact that kids in the front row were holding up the brazillian flag for the ENTIRE set. Some one behind it was trying to take a picture of the band and just kept getting the flag. They played a good mix of tracks, including my favorite off the new CD "vicious wrath". The singer's stage batter I thought was the same since I saw them in 2000/2001, but no. The first talk back was the same limited catch phrases, but the one after that was well said and showed that they did in fact know english. They fake ended with conquoring armagaddon too. Yeah! it was funny cause some chubby kid with a mohawk (see the trendy thread) tried to crowd surf, but it took all the people around him quite a bit of time to get him up, but then he was pulled out again with in minutes. the crowd was packed by this point. I'm glad that all the metalheads finally come out. it was also funny to see behemoth rocking out to them from the side of the stage in their full makeup.
at the very end of the set, the singer put his bass into the crowd to the brazillian flag people and almost got pulled off the stage. |
I'm typing out the review for behemoth now, but I have to interject. if you are a "metalhead" and you aren't here right this second, either sell all you metal CDs to some one who is here, or kill your self. they are fucking amazing. |
behemoth: ok.. When every band trumps ever other band in that "stealing the show" sort of way, you know you are at a kick ass show. They were insane. They entire set was crazy. They moved all around the stage and then *bang* in the right place at the right time for everything. The singer would come right out and showboat for the crowd on the edge of the stage. At first I thought it was hough on drums. The drummer looked massive, but he's just got a higher stool. The drums were more technical and less focusing on the double kick like krisiun do so their set wasn't as pain full. They had a killer light set up too. Tons of colors and flashing lights. the number of crowd surfers picked up too. This was also the highest number of polish flags I've ever see at a show. Before their "encore" they sort of did that echoy solo thing that trey does every show. the singer come out in a mask and a dress type thing (looking like a centobite). they played a couple songs and the mask came off quickly. then ran off the stage saying thank you. the house music came on, but the lights didn't really. then the singer came back on stage minus the dress and told every one to yell. everyone of course did and then the house music cut out and they played ANOTHER SONG. I have never seen and opener do that in my memory. I give this set an 11. so tight, so much energy, so awesome. |

MA is setting up now. 16 songs on the set list I think. looks almost exactly like the list from last time, including the encores.. hmmm. weird... not sure how I feel about that. |

so fucking pissed off
but yeah, i suck at life for not being there. |
MA is playing right now. since when to fat goth kids like morbid angel? there's more hot topic wears in the crowd than a cradle of filth show. stupid clothing with buckles all over it. |
haha. I can't believe people still wear that shit. are they cutters? look for scars and take pics. |
for some reason the singer of senseless mutilation just came up to tom (rusted angel) all friendly, then headbutted him and threw him over the barricade/bar in the front. if he had done that 1' to closer to me it would have knocked all my gear on the ground. no one knows what's up |
there are about 40 people on this site that I would have expected that at, but that was very unexpected |
Good show! Nice turnout (Rev? Where the hell were you? I didn't see you wandering!) and always cool to see metalhead friends from shows past. That is always cool. And the little dude was there too! He's always at the shows (I forget his name, but cool dude). So overall I was pleased with the sets and the turnout. Behemoth was as awesome as last years show. Krisiun I haven't seen since 2000/2001 but were great. Morbid with DV back onboard was a treat as I have only seen em 3 times so far. Sick drumming!
Opening band was *ok* in my books. I'd have rather had another death or black metal band but they did good. Could have used a 2nd guitarist though to fill out the sound a bit more. Good time had by all!
Awesome show! Krisiun fuckin rules! |
DI - they sounded bad. stupid sound guys slacking off for the opener. lack of second guitar was very noticable. wasn't really feeling it.
Krisiun - holy kick drum. brutal set.
Behemoth - they sounded great and everything was rock solid. i hated those fucking lights.
Morbid Angel - i was expecting death metal when some U2 sounding pop band played instead. I suck at writing reviews for good shows, only when shit goes wrong do I have something to say. |
Pam, where were ya? I went apeshit during "Fall from Grace" for ya!
that song alone was worth $23... |
I walked up behind scott and he kept going..
while I was trying to say hi to him chris (the acursed) walked off without seeing me. |
why didn't you grab my ass like you usually do? |
that was one of the best shows I've been to in a long time.
Krisiun destroyed with the double bass. |
the show tonight was like a family/highschool reunion for me... I ran into friends & relatives of friends and classmates that I havent seen in years...
show was killer, sound could have been better for Krisiun & Behemoth, and Despised Icon just bored me no offence to those that like 'em, their drummer's got some good chops, but I just wasn't feeling 'em. |
DomesticTerror said: that song alone was worth $23... |

I've waited to see Morbid Angel with David Vincent since fucking high school. SO worth the $23. Aaron didn't get any pictures of the bruises I got from losing a fight with myself. |

What he said.
And then the Crebain/Leviathan split, then Xasthur's "Suicide in Dark Serenity", then Wigrid "Hofnungstod" (aren't I grim and frostbitten?) and saved myself $50 without having to smell Behemoth fans - consistently the most putrid fanbase I've seen yet (while Opeth fans are the most deserving of beating and exile, their moms bathrooms ARE stocked with soap).
Saw Morbid for free with Soulfly and while I wouldn't mind hearing the alleged same set again... did I mention I saved $50, listened to great shit on my new stereo and didn't have to smell the unbathed metal populace. Krisiun I'm all set with and I'll probably see Despised Icon at five CT American Legion halls by the end of the year. |

METAL!!!! |
I got there as Behemoth ended. I would've checked out Krisiun if I wouldn't have had to sit throught Behemoth to do it. I went for Morbid Angel alone, because I'm a close-minded snob. |

me and my friend decided to skip the first band, and showed up at the palladium just in time to see the almighty KRISIUN rip shit up; these guys put on a really fuckin good show, absolutely crushing; i for one was very impressed.
next up was BEHEMOTH. i love thier stuff, but to me they weren't as good as krisiun, kinda sounded like shit, but put on a good performance overall, lots of energy on that stage.
finally the great MORBID ANGEL came on. they rocked the fuckin house with a beautiful onslaught of tunes from the good old days. awesome set, but i wish they'd played more songs from "blessed are the sick", that seems to be a sadly underrated album. beats the hell out of "altars..." in my opinion.
great fuckin show overall - krisiun and morbid angel left the biggest impression on me for the night; after the show me and my friend chatted with dan from shroud of bereavement and some other people that were far beyond intoxicated, which was quite amusing. i had a great time! |

I'm gonna take alot of credit for that. I always go rip shit. Espeacially with Dawn of The Angry leading into it. |
BEHEMOTH HAS CONQUERED ALL MOTHER FUCKERS!!! |
ok anonymous, we get the point. |
Exactly. Krisiun fuckin smoked everyone on that stage. Behemoth was cool but their sound was off. I can never hear the snares at the palladium when they do blast beats. After the first tune, the singer yells "We came to fuck all your women and drink all your alcohol!" Classic. Despised was cool as well. |
i wish i hadn't missed this show |
This show was fucking INSANE!! Aaron! How did I not see you?
DESPISED ICON- Don't care, wasn't there. This band sucks.
KRISIUN- DRRRRUUMMMMMMSSS!! I was happy to see Krisiun but when I got there Chris and I ran down to watch them. They were so SICK!! The drummer is a fucking machine. It's fun watching Chris get all excited over drummers, like a kid in a toy store. They were SO good, I can't get over it. I couldn't stop laughing once it occured to me that Alex sounds like StrongBad
BEHEMOTH- After the crushing disappointment of their newer material sounding like Nile (who I can't fucking stand), it was great to see them play some older stuff. I love their lights, they bring the lights with them on every tour. They did a great job.
I was pretty drunk by now so I was having a great time.
MORBID ANGEL- I would have paid 43 dollars for MA alone. I was in back for a couple songs before I ran down to the front to join DomesticTerror on the floor. THEY WERE AMAZING. So much so I completely overlooked Vincent's silly little PVC tank top. I went back up to get another beer and ran into more people. I'm really unhappy about the lack of Blessed Are The Sick songs, but I think I broke my neck when they played "Fall From Grace".
I can't move my neck between Friday at DeeDee's and Last night.
I think the highlight of the night for me was watching Jeremy OakKnoll smile and wave to John Dwyer, who promptly flipped him off. |

Tell that to the 200+ kids who saw them in Ashland. |
i don't like despised icon either. i checked them out a while back after everyone kept sucking their cocks and i thought they were boring as shit. all the scenester kids in ashland can have them. |
terror and fear has been restored............... |
Palladium sound was mediocre, as I expected it to be, but still this show was unreal.
DESPISED ICON - Definitely very cool to see them, as I dig 'The Healing Process' quite a bit. Their drummer was insanely nasty and his kit sounded awesome.
KRISIUN - My first time seeing them.... holy shit. They are very powerful performers and completely kicked my ass. Great choice of songs for the setlist too. Sooooo much respect to these guys; they are the real deal.
BEHEMOTH - They were definitely good and their image and stage presence is very impressive, but it seemed a little plastic to me. Especially coming after Krisiun, who were so raw and didn't need any makeup/skirts/helmets/weird metal poles. Still though, Behemoth destroyed and I'd love to see them again.
MORBID ANGEL - Even though I love 'Gateways...', I really didn't care that they didn't play anything past 'Domination.' The set was unbelievable. David Vincent is one of the best metal frontmen I've ever seen. Doing the claw and singing along to 'Bow to me faithfully...' was the most satisfying metal experience I've had in a long time haha.
Thank you a million times over to the Sexcrement guys for saving my stranded ass last night. I had a fun time hanging out with you guys after the show. |
Okay, I was absolutely hammered last night. I am not fit to right a review. Allow me to clarify, we were there at 4:30, with 50 beers, a bottle of jager, 3 lbs steak tips and 16 hot dogs. watch it go. then the pot comes, yeah guy. then I upchucked some of bobby's whiskey on the way in. Caught Krisiun right as they were doing Bloodshed. I was pumped they played Vengeance Revelation. Adam and I were up front being those guys plowing everyone around. I helped fly the brazilian flag too. After that I don't remember all that much from the show, except spilling a bunch of people's beer from sheer excitement from Krisiun. Morbid Angel was awesome, I thought I was too drunk and forgot, but sure enough they played nothing after Domination. It was awesome. Thanks to Pam, Dana, Chris, and Roy for buying me beers, together we are legion. After the show I fell hard and bloodied up my leg sick. Anthony, did you guys finish the food back in framingham?? It was great seeing El Justin and Vesgore driving 3 + hours to this show, GOOD PARTY GUYS!!

Such a great show. I've been waiting so long to see MA with David and it did not disappoint at all. |
Rev, you're getting greedy - is it not enough that you've ruined hardcore? You've got to have metal TOO now? Ugh. |
I ruined hardcore first cause metal was doing a good job of it itself. now that metal is doing well, I must refocus my efforts. |

Hey bitch! I bought you a beer too! Fucker! |
Morbid Angel: the set was long ans packed with older tracks. why are there so many good MA songs. Hell, they didn't even play a lot of my favorites (covenant I'm looking you way..though they played 4 songs from it, I wanted lion's den). morbidly dressed david vincent came out and had two lights pointed up at him. Honestly, I would have rathered trey and the guy from onstrosity have them instead, but whatever. As for live banter, it seems to me that vincent acts like he's still in the genitortures. The guy from monstrosity has been in the band for a long time now so he's awesome (thouh he fit right in front the start). I could never picture him playing monstrosity songs.. I think he'd get bored after running finger trials with trey. the drumming was again punishing for them. OK, when vincent stopped the show and talked to the bouncers and then called them everyone's friend, that ruled. he's trying to win my heart I think.
I went up to the balcony to catch the last few songs from their set. from back there, dave's vocals were much better. I really can wait to hear what he sounds like on CD. wonder what it's going to be called. they probably have most of it written by this point.
I went down to the floor for world of shit. good stuff. |

Tom got his ass handed to him..... Too bad...... I wish I was there to see it and get a good laugh!! |
What's this noise about Tom getting beat up? I saw him walking around and he looked fine to me. |
Very end of the night, some guy who Tom thought was his friend, comes over says "hello" and then head-butts his face.
Them Maine folks is weird. |
Maybe Tom will think twice now before talking so much shit and being an arrogant cock sucker
I figured it had something to do with some online stuff, I have no idea.
I thought that was a joke, someone really did that to Tom?
...I like Tom, you guys can eat it. |
I guess the internet really IS serious business. |
man. That means I have to kick Sean Shrapnel's ass now. |
Dave's oufit looks like the same one he wore when on stage with The Genitortures. Or a bondage outfit, 1 of the 2 |
The only person I wouldn't want a real face to face fight with (that I've 'fought' with online) is Powerkok.
Other than that, step up to my face and talk shit, pussy. |
RichHorror said: The only letdown for me was the lack of 'Angel of Disease'. |
I thought the lack of Sworn to the Black was more dissappointing |
i cant believe someone would actually take some kind of action like that just because of someone stating their opinion on an online message board...and not to mention the guy took right off after he did it...lets grow up people and grow some tact/brains/balls |

Never had a problem with him that I can remember, but yeah, him too.
awesome show! Good to see everyone...josh...do you remember smacking a full beer out of my hands? that was funny..you were wasted! |
Badass show this weekend. Good times, good people. Enough Beer to kill a small elephant... |
if that story is true about Tom, that's fucking bullshit. So you go up to someone pretending to be their friend and then headbutt them in the face unexpectedly?? That's just cowardly... grow some balls pussy. |

Eat me!!

sounds kinda funny to me? |
Why do so many of you have a problem with Despised Icon? I think deathcore is freakin' awesome. I haven't seen them live yet but I'm working on that. |

their drummer has great chops, but they SERIOUSLY need a second guitarist and only one singer. they're tight live, but I felt like all their songs sounded the same to me |
Well, they're from Canada. Not much brains there. HaHahAh jk |
all and in alll, this was most anticipated shows in forever and it did not dissapoint. i'd love to hear morbid angel play visions from the dark side and lion's den next time! |
anyone see the 12 year old go crowd surfin during Behemoth? Im proud |
pam nli said:
if crowd surfers kick me in the head i usually punch them or wait til they fall on the ground and kick them. i hate crowd surfing so much. it is 10 times gayer than moshing. |
dude, you snatch their wallet...it's great. |
Third time seeing Morbid angel and the best sofar. Krisiun kicked ass. The sound was better than I expected. I wainted all day at the merch table for the dude to sell me a Krisiun shirt. |

I am still feeling the beers 2 days later!!!!
work sucked today! |

pam nli said: dude, you snatch their wallet...it's great. |

hah that kid got stranded in Worcester because he missed the last train to Boston. I saw him on the train in the morning when I was coming from Framingham. |
the kid with the blue mohawk and fucked up makeup? i was next to him during krisiun.....kid stunk like ass......god damn i hope when i have kids they dont turn out like that.... |
if your kids turn out like that you should behead them and get a vasectomy. |

Ya, I kinda did a nod to him, like thinking "hey there you pompous prick"... he gave me a nerdy birdy and ran off. He kept avoiding me that night... like most shows. Boo!
Of course everyone else there were very socialable and nice, MG, Pam, Jon H, Dan, Mike,Mark, Sam, Troll and his way too cool gang, all those other bands I bumped into, even Liz. I think that was my highlight of the eve. |
the_reverend said: dan will get here for the last 2 bands then.
despised icon: their set started off ok and got better as they got in to the set. |
I think he mentioned the Ashland show because I yelled that they were better there. The Palladium sound killed them...that, and the lack of the second guitarist. |

2 small elephants |
the sound was fine to me for every band on the floor...dont what your complaining about |
$20 dollars for 2 bands is too much? sounds like you need to lay off the bong and get a job |
I've been listening to MA records A-D & F.
gd dave's vocals changed for the genitortures... |
I almost pissed my pants cause Nick Watchmaker was speaking in french to me. |
Krisiun plays the same shit over and over again. They just stick to the same stuff. Their old stuff is cool but come on how much shit can you repeat. |
todayistheday NLI said: the sound was fine to me for every band on the floor...dont what your complaining about |
You could barely hear the guitar at all, and in the rare instances you could, you could only hear the fact that it was there, and not the actual notes being played. |
i cant believe people are dogging behemoth on this site....they are one of the best live bands in any genre of music without a doubt.....no one brings the combination of musicianship, and intensity that they do. After Behemoth, morbid was obviously spot on musically, but they really lacked the stage presence of their predecessors and seemed almost boring (although i fear for my life even saying that, it is the truth) |

Behemoth have a cool gimmick, but Morbid Angel played like the metal gods that they are. It's not like Behemoth were bad, they were great! But they are not even close to being on the same level. |

for some reason the singer of senseless mutilation just came up to tom (rusted angel) all friendly, then headbutted him and threw him over the barricade/bar in the front. if he had done that 1' to closer to me it would have knocked all my gear on the ground. no one knows what's up
HAHA ! I'D would have love to have seen that! (Id like to meet this guy from senseless mutilation, )...Im glad Rev. Gear didn't get damaged,, mabye he will not stay farther away from idiots who attract violence to themselves. |

Wow....you're just a moron arent you? |
Tom had this coming - he has toned down his shit talking hasn't he ? |
Fuck the morbid angel set they do not behold the same power that they use to have. The set was good but not that great and i think people give them too much credit. Behemoth and krisium played much better. The new aeon musick has come to ragin!!! |
I like BEHEMOTH's material, but I thought their sound was total shit and the stage presence didn't do anything for me either. Unfortunately, I was pretty bored. |
BEHEMOTH
BEHEMOTH
ARE THE UNHOLY SATANIC GIFT OF SATAN...!!!! |
