belive me we didn't want to back out but if brandon did the show he'd probly be jobless the next day and we can't have that

we thought about doing it without the bass but i personally think it would sound bad plus we have a lotta solo bass breaks that just sound gay with clean guitar

my review:

STE - that crappy wireless mic pretty much ruined the vocals which are probably my favorite part about the band.

Dysentery - they sound better with 2 guitarists, but this band still makes my life.

Old guy - this guy was the fucking Don Rickles of death metal. He should be at every show.

Structure of Lies - this band came all the way from arizona just to put me to sleep. Way too much hype for another black dahlia murder cookie cutter ho-hum death metal band.

TYAG - "I've never seen a kid so happy to be playing the drums."

Ascendancy - I'll never understand why this band doesn't have a bigger following around here. They're a ridiculously fast, incredibly talented black/death metal band playing in a state full of kids who do nothing but scream about how there aren't any talented black/death metal bands around. Yet when faggot Gorguts comes to town everybody is ready to be "metal as fuck" again. lame.

Ascendancy rules. Even when their set turns into a Bon Jovi video.

The sound guy there was actually drunk, and from what I know, he asked someone else to try, and turn the vocals up more, because he didn't know what he was doing. Normally I wouldn't use a mic like that cause i'm not a rock star, but he told me no feedback so... When the mic shit out it was all over. Glad you dig the vocals, cause I think I suck. All the other (death metal) bands sounded good as usual.

The show was good.

Trinity test was pretty damn sick awesome guitarwork. I cant wait to see more from these guys

The ying yang contrast i think has a lot of potential to be a good grind band they need to get used to playing on stage.

Shading the end, i thought the sound was good in the place but the PA totally sucked for our singers vocals. Either it was too loud or to low and then the mic just shut off which was gay.

Dysentery was fucking sick tonight. Guitar could have been turned up a little more but other then that they sounded sickkk.

structure of lies was probably one of the most boring bands ive seen live, sorry guys .

TYAG was sick as usual. The new song was fucking crazy. Sound was a little muddy, but over all it was brutal as always.

ascendency was pretty crazy. Nasty drummer good guitar work. Its not really my style but i think they are doing something cool. Headbanging on the streets of worcester =

Overall it was an awesome show and thanks a millon to devon for putting it on

Yin Yang Contrast - Seemed very amatear, young, didn't really know how to handle the stage. Were not very tight. keep practicing guys!

STE - first time seeing them, I thought the rocked pretty hard. lots of death breakdowns to punch the ceiling too.

Structure of Lies - I'll Agree with mike, chan made it out to be such a big deal for iranach to be releasing something with these guys when really its not. Musicwise, it was boring. their musicianship is there I suppose. No one moved at all. Vocals were like a bad version of tomas lindberg.

the night was fun, but had a weird aura of tiredness in the air.
all the bands played well, a couple of them weren't my thing, but in the end the metal train out of the doors and into the street totally made my night.
i'm sorry we couldn't stick around for the rest of Ascendency's set, but half the kids we were with had school or work early the next day. Next time though.
Also, despite the rumors of the club being some sketchy crack-house, it was surprisingly laid back.

Thanks all of you who stuck around for even half our set. I had to be on a train to school at 7:50 this morning so I understand having to get home to be able to get up.

I thought it was a great show pretty much throughout, only one band really sank my boat and I don't remember who they are anyway so it doesn't matter. I'm coining a new subgenre for TYAG (this is not a derogatory term): Nonsense Grind. It's official. Accept it and move on.

We and Dysentery will be doing up the shenanigans once more Oct. 4th with Goratory and others (see the other thread that's going to get spammed to hell until the show happens).

The old dude is awesome. Hail hail.

Someday EVERYONE's going to have a camera and a site and be able to put the pictures up as they are shooting a show and as the bands are playing, they will be downloading pictures of themselves off sites and seeing themselves as they play in their heads.
at that point, maybe I'll stop doing this site.
