damn, wish i was around for that. just saw rise and fall in holland, great band. should be an awesome show. |
they are expecting something like 700 kids for this show. |
I have NO idea how that building can hold that many people.
I assume it's upstairs? There are two fire exits. both of wich are tiny and have inward opening doors and the room is probaby 20x30
700 people in that will be nuts. |
I'm going to either bring a fire axe for the walls or jump out a window if the tear gas, fire, or whatever starts. |

Yea I heard somewhere that you were going to do that.
I heard that. |
does anyone know when the doors open/how much it is? |
Roman's shows are always 10 bucks. and the doors are always open at the same time I think, so check another roman's show for door time. |
im taking the train in 2 hours to this. should be fun. hopefully i even get it |
I guess they say get there at 6 if you want to be sure to get in.
otherwise, sit in the bar until there is more room.
that's what I was told. |
40SLS: the singer was really sick, but he sounded perfect up on stage. I'm guessing that he was giving it all he could through a terrible feaver cause their set was getting video taped for a video. The video was for one of the songs that they played in the middle. For an opening band at roman's, they got an awesome response. |
doomsday device: they were slower old school hardcore in tthe vien of madball. This band is ex-powerhouse. for the people that are ignorant, ernie cortez was in powerhouse and doomdays device. He die of cancer in 2004which pretty much halted DDD. Thankfully, the band picked up again some time later, to play more shows, record or what ever. It took a while, but after the mid point of their set, people started dancing a little for them. One problem is that if kids don't know this music, they won't do anything on the floor. actually, any one that didn't dance has powerhouse or bulldoze on their myspace "im cool and I like these bands" list that didn't dance should get kicked out if they start dancing of other bands. More people should have been 2 stepping for them. |
Rise & Fall: wow... I have listened to their CD I think on DWI, but their live show was so much more amazing. This was the perfect band to add on to a converge show. There were definitely some you fail me influenced parts to their music. The crowd danced a bit more for them, but a lot of their music was a little bit more experimental. with that said, they were the first band to get the fire door kicked open. |
didnt even know about this show |
converge is setting up now.
blacklisted: awesome band, awesome set. The singer's speaches in between were the same and related to the impending song. They started off with an instrumental clip intro thing that sounded a lot like a cranberries song. Their set had a lot more people moving around and singing. I'm sure it's cause they sold a lot of copies of their DWI CD. It still wasn't too dangerous on the floor. I was able to walk around so.. I really liked their set like the last time I saw them |
guns up!: the show got really really "dongerous" at this point. I saw a lot of camera people get hit on the side of the stage including a camera thati caught before it hit the ground. It could have had something to do with the fact that there were a million cameras and video recorders. a lot of technology in that crowd. Their set was really short. I think they played 7 or 8 songs, but their songs are short anyhow. people were rolling all over each other nd it started to feel like a roman's show again. plenty of NH kids that I never see came out to see this show too. |
I'm really mad I missed this show. i give my boys in 40SLS a lot of props for this show...CANT WAIT TO SEE THE PICS |
that was a show that people will be talking about for a long time. the perfect number of kids got in. one minor fight inside the club. so much fun. |
when will the pictures be up? |
they are uploading now.
I had to drive home (I was posting from my phone) |
which band was the fight during? |
rise and fall I think.
it was very minor. |
thats good...god damn man over 300 pics of converge...well done |
yeah, that show was nutty |
this is weird, it looks like there was alot of room in the room? I was expecting it to be packed like sardines thats why i didnt go.... |
whoa
kurt and jake look like they put on a few pounds, but nate looks like he totally got fit!
what a flip-flop |
then again, I haven't seen them in a few years, and they're not teenagers / 20-somethings anymore |
I thought the same thing, but it was the perfect ammount of people. the whole place was full of people, but the floor could clear out enough for people to dance. |
did anyone hear about this fight that happened outside? I walked out and only saw one punch, but he was pretty brutalized
according to one of my roomate's friends they were putting a white sheet over the dude, meaning he probably died |
one can only hope that is completely false ^^ |
aaron told me about a fight while he was driving home...but he said it wasn't serious..i'll let him post details |
actually carina, you are confused. there was a small fight during rise & fall that got sean (sharky) to jump down from the sound booth on his bad knees.. I haven't seen him move that fast in years! but that fight was nothing.
outside was in the mallad. I was inside, but the story I heard was someone (dude A) in the mallad dragged out another dude (dude B) out of the club. A bounced B's head off the pavement a couple times while another dude (dude C) came out of the club to continue beating B. from the story I was told there was A LOT of blood and dude C delivered one last kick to B banged on his chest, said "white niggah right here" and walked off. (end what I was recounted by people who were outside). I was out side basically the second it ended and every one was in shock. B was laying on the ground and didn't move at all for the 10 minutes I was outside. big ronin was over there with the guy until 2 firetrucks showed up. he's a trained EMT, training his way up the food chain and passing tests like no body's business. I have no doubt he did what he could. |
I really hope the poor dude was alright. |
converge play any new songs or what? |
the reverend... how was converge's set-list? i seen you wrote a little thing for everyone except them... did they have a long set and did they mix up old and new songs nice? |
sorry, I fell asleep before writing a converge review and I got to a show at 1pm.. I'm at a second show now (6pm). I will write something up. from my overly excited brain notes at the time, they played 3 ones off you fail me; the title track, vultures, and black cloud. they played coduit in there some place and ended with the saddest day. there was one song that they played that was new. I didn't catch the name. it sounded like jane doe. |
i thought they ended with locust reign.
either way...the show was amazing...i was blown away by rise and fall...i knew they were good but i wasnt expecting what i saw...and converge...theyre just one of those bands that are on your "need to see before i die" list...and im glad i did... |
Converge definitely ended with The Saddest Day. I have audio recording confirmation |
does anyone have the full setlist for converge? |
converge: well, that was just plan amazing. the room was sort of packed and it was kind of hard to get around, but as I said, the perfect number of kids got in. Their set seemed so short. but then again, they always play like 15 songs and all I remember is a few... they started off with starting with vultures, black clouds, you fail me, conduit, and ended with the saddest day. I know they had to have played a ton of more songs, but I can't think of them at all. the crowd was full of kids who were loosing their minds. I'm sure tons of people were seeing these guys for the first time. like everytime I see them, they keep getting older, but the fans stay the same age. that makes their music sort of frozen in time. I know that jake mentioned that they were all old, but at one point, he was the 13 year old youngest kid on the hardcore scene. that was many years ago and he's still keeping up with the kids. for basically the entire set (minus the new song), he ran back and forth across the stage and a wave of kids lapped back and forth across the stage after him. plenty of times he was on the ground with kids standing over him or screaming along with him. I was up on the stage and Ben's drumming is getting better and better each time I see them. the newer tracks especially. he hits those skins so hard. after all the times that I've seen doomriders in the past year, it was cool to see nate back in his element. it's really hard for someone to jump around in that rock outfit. they ended with the saddest day. this songs points the attention directly at kurt and was the perfect way to end their set.
"How we get older, how we forget about each other" |
yeah man their set was so good |
does anyone know what kind of guitar kurt is playing in the pictures? |
he's got some new custom one. I'm not sure what company it is.. let me find out. |
that sounds like a pretty serious fight to me. I'm surprised I didn't hear anything about this. |
