New site? Maybe some day.

I just got back from the Drifter's show. My first experience there...
still not sure what to make of it.
putting pictures up now. |

pictures are up.
mm.. love lost but not forgotten....
must sleep now.
tell me what you think of the pictures. |
|
i was always under the impression that like most of the new hampshire metal/hc scene avoided eclipse/drifters. Am i totally wrong? i dont really go to shows there and ive enver heard any of the bands on this bill so...... maybe im full of shit. |
|
well, I've never been there before so I can't tell you.
Though, I thought the same people owned euphoria, drifters, and cafe eclipse. am I wrong? Also, for a good show, I'll go anywhere.

I also don't understand a few things about that place,
1) $2 gatoraids?
2) if there's no re-entery, why stamp your hand?

most people were surprised that the show there.
they said it's usually just crappy nu-metal bands that play that venue. |

there's an mp3 and a review of them. |
|
as far as i know christain only books shitty bands there....he doesn't want hard dancing....maybe not so much at drifters because he books the 'heavier' bands there.....but at cafe eclipse he doesn't book 'heavy' bands there because its usually his wife starr who runs the shows there.

he doesn't own/run euphoria, good thing. |
|
how much does drifters cost to rent out? |
|
that was my first time at drifters too, and i live like 5 minutes away. it felt like a nazi concentration camp, but the bands were good, and i had a good time. also, everyone stole drinks, so that made it somewhat reasonable, that it cost 10 bucks to get in.

also, that was the first time that any decent bands had played in months, and months. |
|
next time, someone steal me a drink.
I was in the "death radio" hoodie taking pictures.
and by next time, I mean in a year or two when another set of bands that I want to see play there.

I don't know about the nazi's, but I'm pretty sure that if you sat on the pool tables they gassed you. |
|
the last time i was at cafe eclipse christian was wearing an embrace jesus shirt. after all................jesus was black metal. |
|
this was not meant to be a new thread. im a huge idiot |
|
not any more.
I fixed it.
though I don't know why.
not that it matters. |
|
hey reverend, i was the kid that was talking to you at the end of the show. the pics are great. im glad to see im in a majority of the hopesfall ones haha.

yes, drifters and eclipse have the same owners, but im not sure about euphoria. and yes, eclipse and drifters usually only have crappy local nu-metal bands there excluding zao who played a while back.

i was thinking the same thing about the stamped hand thing.....they have the same policy at the eclipse...weird. my fucking mountain dew bottle was $2 on top of the $10 cover charge. although im glad the show was good, which made it worthwhile. |
|
and what was up with everyone leaving during codeseven? it seems all the hc scenester kids were still pissed that they can't windmill to anything on the new album. |
|
codeseven rocks. dancable or not |
|
codeseven was ok. I remember liking the a CD of theirs, but I just wasn't 'in to' them at this show. Maybe if I was at a mogwai show and they were the opening act I'd be more into it.
It seems like they were playing more screamy-space rock, but expecting people to act like they had killer break downs. Of course people aren't going to be moving around to the music. It's more 'sit down and watch' and 'jump around and pick up change that's not there'.
I'm more into how Hopesfall did it. they have these parts that were pretty spaced out wrapped in break down, screaming, running into the crowd, and sing alongs.
eh.. what ever, I'm probably just full of shit. |
|
codeseven is amazing.
You must do drugs to fully appreciate music. Hopesfall are radio friendly hardcore, i like them, but i hate bands that try to emulate their exact sound (we have quite a few bands in ct who are guilty of this)
this is war, rock n roll
HEAVY METAL |
|
so... how was the show you played with them?
I think it was on a monday night? |
|
does anyone know who was recording these shows?
Nathan from love lost wants a copy of their performance for their web-site.
thanks |
|
hey guys,
my names mike, i was the roadie for As I Lay Dying this summer and all of us really really appreciated the turn out and the cool kids that came to the show. new england is a wonderful place. |
|
wow as i lay dying before tight pants! |
|
yea, their older shit is just Zao-worship metal hardcore |
|
though they were awesome back then. this whole show was awesome. |
|
after today's show lets compare as i lay dying then and now.... they better play some of their older stuff since they just re-released it |
|
as i lay dying always sucked. and i think played a show down the street when this happened. |
