are they just realizing this now? the first time i quit soda i lost 25 pounds in 3 months.

Actually these jackasses have it wrong. Ingesting too many calories causes weight gain. For every 3500 calories of excess food you eat you will gain a pound. Soda is just an easy way to ingest more calories.
