I got a hearing about it next week. Can anyone give me any advice regarding how to win at my hearing? any tips or anything?

A hearing? Mine was over the phone, I bitched at them for closing my claim after I worked for one day, (which I never got paid for) and then taking over 2 months to send me a check for $50. All of a sudden the checks came again.

I wish I would get fired so I could collect unemployment.

all i had to do was go online and register. after a 3 week waiting period, i started getting checks. just have to check in via your online account every sunday, and the checks come on tuesday. but then again, that's new york state. mass. is probably a little different.

mass. works pretty much the same, only i had to call to register.

I hope not man.....I actually have a bit of respect for you. HOWEVER, unemployment is for the weak!!! I'd whore myself out before I'd drop my pride low enough to collect from hard working tax payers. Oh....if you're collecting from Mass. that's ok. As long as I don't pay for it, I'm cool. I hate that state anyway.

Just be truthful about everything and ask the employers side of the story...like what they've said. Make sure that little paper work form has been filled out with all your attempts to find work.....Unemployment sucks.....I was laid off from my job 2 weeks before xmas but won my unemployment hearing because I was a good boy and did my paper work

i got the summer off because the company i was working for lost a huge asshole contest to me and some other people from this area. needless to say i called them to thank them for giving me the summer off and talked about fishing a lot. not too long after that they lost about 65% of their business and their general manager got fired for fucking everything up and bringing out the wrath of 5 employees who are also friends off the job. i dont look for asshole contests but to fuck if im gonna lose one
