So what is a good sounding, sexy looking bass for an intermediate player, I usually stick with Ibanez but if I get interested in anything else I will buy it, I am buying new so I won't buy your old bass : (. my price range is up to 450 dollars.

You the man now dog

I'd say stick with Ibanez. I was at the natick GC today and they had a few sweet deals on some, even the 5 strings are resonible. They had some sharp like Cort basses there, I didn't play them. Schetcher might have one cheap too.

For your price range, I'd try Ibanez, ESP/LTD and Schecter. Just play a bunch of them because quality really differs from bass to bass. If you look around hard enough you can find a gem in your price range.

Try Yamaha too, they make some great stuff. If you like the looks, the BB series basses killll

Ill agree with what everyone else and say your best bet is an Ibanez. Schecters are pretty decent but I would stay away from LTDs, Ive just never really liked them.

I would say save up your money and pick up a used Fender or Musicman. Depends what kind of music you are playing though.

I'm with Anthony on the ESP/schecter stand.

I wouldn't get a fender if they paid me a hundred dollars to take home.

best bang for your buck basses:

ltd
schecter
ibanez

youll get better features in the ltds & schecters in that range, though.

I'm gonna be selling my Ibanez SR 400 if you're interested, yeah I know it's used.

Ibanez, I've had the same bass for 4 years, and I love it.
