I'm sure he'll chime in on this, but he does some great artwork that fits your description.

The only thing I'm looking for specifically is to keep it legible, along with sharp edged lettering, and copious amounts of goo. The Sadus and Overkill logos would be good results to keep in mind for what we're looking for.
