toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jan 2,2006 2:27pm

toggletoggle post by cav at Jan 2,2006 3:28pm
yea, they are kinda hardcore kinda techy i guess. have a super vocal high note i remember, thatll be 2 in one night. but they dont have the crowd participation like we do. haha.

toggletoggle post by thedeparted   at Jan 3,2006 1:14pm

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Jan 5,2006 9:55pm
is the living room a hole in the wall or is it a pretty descent space to play in and what kinds of music does it cater to? thanks

toggletoggle post by thedeparted   at Jan 5,2006 10:31pm edited Jan 5,2006 10:32pm
its like home for us, most will say its a shit hole. it has cleaned up a ton
in the recent years. Great stage, plus it is all ages which is always a good thing. They caiter to any bands mostly.
If you are an out of state band, try to contact and RI band so there will be some kids there for you as you would at any other club.

you can call 521-5200 for show info
and i believe 499-5201 is booking

they have a myspace too...ill look for the link

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2006 5:06pm
I'm leaving in like a little while.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2006 9:53pm
this burning sensation: with a lot of bands (especially in the 3 word band name genre) are easy to forget. It becomes a little harder to forget them when they have a 10'x10' home-made banner behind them. It alsohelpe that the tbs banner had a gigantic smoking rat on it for no reason what so ever. So, the were only 3 people; guitar, vocals, drums. This leave 0 lattitude for mistakes so some of their "fuck ups" were probably more of them not hiding fuck ups like most bands do. The vocals reminded me of the structure of Deadwater Drowning, but with out the full on nate power.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Jan 12,2006 10:01pm
they make cream for that

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2006 10:29pm
acariya: they made a false start. Something pulled out of a guitar and they had to fix it. then everything started again.. About 1 song into it and there was a fight. That was over quickly. Especially when the door guy bolted over there and started pulling people out. The rest of their set was uneventful fightingwise, but they put on a tight stage presense. I have a feeling they are going to record with ken susi and then have kids singing along a lot more.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2006 11:20pm
Dour Cursiva: warm up song is rock me like a huricane? They totally remind me of some other band and it's bothering me. I can't remember who it is. Anyhow, their set sounded good. At some point, I had a face full of what I can only think was wigger* that kept pushing straight into me. It was kind of weird. I think he was trying to dance? Or something. Reason #10 why not to learn how to dance from watching videos online. I just tucked my camera into my neck until I rolled off him. I don't know if something was wrong with brian dc's amp cause he kept going back there the whole set. On their second to last song, the singer of the departed took on of the mics. I'm going to assume the "wigger" was the same person who grabbed my ribs during their last song. Not that I didn't appretiate the double rib cage noogie as im trying to take pictures... But I think it's time for me to wear my "im not a girl so don't touch" shirt. I thought once blue got the message I would have to wear it anymore. Seems not to be the case.
* I fully aknowledge that the above mentioned wigger may have just been a drunk yankees fan

departed, the: they probably had the most people there during their set and they are also the only band in PVD that has a girl's corner. Damnit, I was unfortunately typing about the number of people there were here when briandc got up on stage for the obligatory Dour Cursiva appearance on stage during departed, the's set. so, they talked about the show on saturday a lot... And about the free beers. Towards the end of their set, the crowd started to thin out as kids curfews came and went. and by the end of their set, there were too many people there anymore. oh, and I thought the over all sound, especially the vocals were better mixed last time. the wasn't a punch to the face like it was last time. also, the vocals kept being way too loud and then way too soft.

yep...we played rock you like a hurricane a little at a katrina benefit and it comes up occasionally (all the time)...I used to know the sick intro lead note for note...need to get back on that.

you once said we sound like norma jean, but I can't help think that isn't right...if you figure out who we sound like, let me know.
