shucks. sorry bro. I wish we could make the show all ages or at least 18+ i suppose ill try and ask doyle but it seems like most shows at obriens is 21 + now :(
I just send Dissector a message on myspace asking if they can do it. Hopefully theyll agree to play and will confirm before you get the flyer done and make copies. thanks for making it at any rate. I had a good sketch going thursdya night for one but the weekends just been too busy and i doubt id be able to get one done by tomrrow at this point
lets see. Hirudinea's logo is in with their pics on their myspace page. Dissector (assuming they agree to play) has a couple logos in their myspace pics but they're parts of images with pictures i think so u might have to save the image and do some cutting in pasting. Our logo you could cut and paste from the flyer for the show on Nov 17th at Clark which is still in with our mysapce pics. I also have a image of just the logo on my cpu which i could send you if you can get me your email adress

doyle didnt tell me how much the show was. ill call and see if hes there and can tell me tonight.
Band order is yet to be determined. I suppose it depends a little on what order folks want to be in. Hirudinea and Extinction Agenda told me theyd prefer not to go last. The Bludgeoning would be up for it but it seems kind of silly to have the band whos the least well known as the "headliner" so that would leaves it to Dissector provided they can play.
I'll say. I hope i get to talk to him some time and ask him what medium he used to make that cover coz that has a really cool effect all around it. Theres stuff that looks like just a mess but a really deliberate and methodically detailed mess and then theres those faces that u can see which are wicked creepy! The background is cool too
well...u might could use my amps but theres a good chance our drummer is gonna have to leave right after our set coz he has work early the next day so drums might be a problem

if you guys need a set you should be able to use ours. just bring a snare drum, and symbols.

monkey wrench in my hand. in my groin a swollen gland.
haha. word. i didnt know O'briens had a guestlist. I'd tell 'em to let u on in for free when u get there but I aint never seen u before so i wouldnt recognize u when i saw u!
maybe one of the guys from the other bands can help u out?
We can't get our van so would be we able to borrow a drum set and a guitar amp from somebody? I can bring all the drum accessories like pedal, cymbals, snare.
And we'll guest book Aaron if nobody else did it by the time we get there. Aaron, Do you already have the Dissector cd? If you don't just take one.

awesome show. i had a great time. awesome turnout for a tuesday. all bands killed and hirudinea had a great time playing our first show in boston with the new lineup. thanks to all the crazy fucks up front. heil.
outside after the show was pretty cool too. christmas tree car diving... haha
he was a little tipsy..
I'm pretty sure thin air would have done a number on him in a fight.
post by ninkaszi at Dec 21,2005 3:51pm
i am pretty sure he still could have gone on a drunken rage haha. he went to the hospital and almost fought the security guards... i think he was the victim of a pile on the tree.
I had a blast last night. Thanks to Pete for putting us on and lending us his bass amp. And Hirudinea for letting us use the drums and amp. And the biggest thanks to the people who actually stayed the whole night.
bludgeoning, the: this was my first times seeing this band. Honestly, I had no clue what to expect from them. they played thrashy metal that sort of reminded me of the random acts, but with out the $40,000 in shredding lessons from Berkeley. they had more of a motorhead/dirty metal sound to them. their equipment really sucked. they used little practice amps that they had to mic all to hell and then there was nothing but feed back for most of their set... hm.. where do I remember that from...
http://www.returntothepit.com/media.php?id...date=oct122002&pic=hirudinea036.jpg I'm sure they would sound a lot better with 1/2 stacks. one of the guitarists would really shred.
extinction agenda: seeing dhth's band was the "main" reason I was convinced to head down to this show. I have the ep with the funky cover that they put out and I thought they were completely different sounding live. they are more trashy and melodic than the CD. I also didn't know that brian (from december wolves) was in this band. I've seen that guy do all sorts of bands and he plays awesome in all of them. I’m not sure who the drummer is.. but he might be newschool dw. On bass is megan (hekseri). She pulls a more supporting role in this band than her lead guitar playing in hekseri.
hirudinea: this is the first time that I’ve seen them with the new line up. For those of you that don’t know, mike has come off the guitar. Ben has taken over mike’s guitar duties and they added Ross (from exaguation sp?) to the bass. It’s odd seeing mike not playing. I didn’t know anything about the new member so when I saw them, I figured that mike must still have an agnostic front related shoulder injury. This is not the case. They are actually doing It as a 5 piece now. This gives mike more time to lash out into the audience and have fun. I think that the music comes across a lot more clean and death-metaly. A lot of the new songs they played are more straight forward with out the more experimental nature of the songs they’ve been playing for the past 3 years. They had a lot of people thrashing about and when they played. It was cool to see the floor of o’brien’s rocking hard for them. It was funny when the sound guy bolted for the PA which was waving around.
dissector: I was a bit afraid that they would be way too quiet with bludgeoning, the’s gear.but since there is only one guitar player, I think it worked better for them. They played to about 10 people, thrashing around the floor for them. Basically, everyone who watched them was pumping their fist in the air with the music. Great set and funny as always.
The drummer of ExAgenda is actually the old DW drummer from Completely Dehumanized and previous. I think a lot of our other songs are pretty melodic (the ones not on the EP) so I agree.
hahahaha... come on now, rev. our amps are at least bigger than the one in that pic!
in all honesty though was it really that hard to hear what our songs sounded like during the set??? or was it mostly a pile of feedback??
i know our amps arent as big as other folks' but i honestly didnt consider that upgrading was much a priority at this time seeing as we only play really small places like O'briens but if people feel like the sound is really that bad than Im going to have to reconsider that.
At any rate our rythm guitarist/lead singer DID just get a new marshall half stack which sounds great but which we couldnt haul to that show because we had one less vehicle available than normal so we had to preserve space as best we could!
thanks for the comments though! we're definetly eager to hear what people think of how we sound live for better or worse.
and sorry to drag up this old thread, but i was away the last few days without internet and wanted to respond to rev's comments.
thanks again everyone who played/came and to rev for taking pics. hope we can do it again soon!
I'm not a musician, I just know that there was a lot of feed back and small amps. I really think that 1/2 stacks would help define your sound.
that picture was from the first time I saw hirudinea years and years ago.
jay had a little practice amp with a 4' chord. he was drunk and thrashing about so the chord came out of the cab every couple of minutes.
yeah the bludegoning definately needs new equipment. the feed back was horrible and the mix was aweful. i'm not knocking your songwriting or your delivery, i think you guys have a good start with that. just try to get some better equipment to justify your sound some more. professional sound = professional equipment.
I dunno, when The Bludgeoning played with Hatchet at Clark University they destroyed everything in a sixteen mile radius, maybe it was just levels and tuning? Or was the equipment different at that gig?

word. i guess the quality of amps and equipment to the overall sound means more to some folks than others. its just one of those things i guess i dont really notice with other bands. ive heard bands with big fancy amps who still have a ton of feedback and dont sound so great.
what exactly do u mean by how the "mix" was? do u mean as in what the sound guy was doing with it or just how our volume and bass/mid/treble levels were on our amps.
we were probably more in tune at the show at clark but also more sloppy playing. i thouhgt this was one of our better shows sound wise so far but ill know more when i see the video
at any rate i have been figuring on getting something new in the newr future and havebeen debating whetehr to make it a new bass or a new amp. i suppose u guys have helped me make the decision easier.
