I have a problem with them, but I am glad they arent backing off this show because that would be gay. I would use that against them in some future thread.

Josh from Abhorred feels that nobody should play shows organized by Kenny Lanning, and this show was organized by that kid.

i don't know that guy but according to several people on this site, he's fucked over bands numerous times.
Well, they can play whatever show they want to play.

Who cares if they play that show...I am sure any local band would jump at the chance to play with Vital Remanis and Incantation

Dude it's Just A show!!!! Why would anyone back off to play a show I don't see it betraying any scene. most promoters and club owners are scumbags that care about the botom line not your Band or who plays. I have never met this shitbag kenny but i hear he's a total scumfuck but ya know what if he offerd me a show that was going to gain more exposure for me and my band i'll take it. that's what it's about right if not i would stay home and jam in my basment and never do anything because part of this shit is getting ripped off and fucked with you just have to deal with it and learn... and by the way I have played shows w Vital and Incan many times both together and seprate and they were always a fucking blast......

BUT-- it seems to me that it would make more sense to play the show and get a foot in the door...talk to people there, make contacts, find a way around this guy. i think that benefits the scene (i.e. all of us) more than a boycott.

Porphyria are awesome dudes and would never do anything to outright FUCK or hurt the scene. Them playing this show does not hurt the scene. Kenny, in his own quasi-retarded, unorthodox way is kind of contributing to the scene. I dont see any of the other bookers in the Mass scene getting Vital Remains at the Palladium. So what if he doesnt pay bands, most of the bands he books are wicked local. Any unsigned local band should not care about not getting paid or losing money on a show i've been playing in bands since i was 15 and havent made a penny yet. WHO CARES. nothing against Josh, he's a great dude. But the hude deal he's making about this isn't extremely warranted.

I support Porphyria and their efforts to get kids at shows.

if some of you have it in for a band just for playing a show booked by a shitbag then that's your problem, I agree with the others saying that a boycott won't do shit but hurt the scene. the way to do it, is make good contacts with the larger nationals, and maybe they'll request you on their next appearance.
