I will not have sex with you.

wasn't it Rachtman?

I don't think you remember it too well. I remember sitting through hours of Winger and Brittany Fox just to see one Slayer or Kreator or Voivod video. Thank God for underage drinking.
I remember thinking how cool it was when they decided to actually play a whopping THREE thrash videos instead of the usual one. I think they called it the tripple thrash threat or something stupid like that.

Headgivers Ball indeed.

They've got recent interviews with that gaylord who hosted it on Metal Sludge.

I think they still have Headbangers (givers? haha) Ball on MTV2. The few times I've checked it out it has been equally as terrible. When I click on a channel and there are dreadlocks yelling/rapping/crooning to me, I change said channel faster than shit exits a goose.

I remember the "Into The Pit" segment when they would play the heavier stuff like DEATH and MORBID ANGEL.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at Oct 27,2005 4:19pm
They have Metal Mania on VH1 Classic too, which is basically all early/mid 80's stuff. Good for a laugh and sometimes they play Motorhead or Iron Maiden.

Last I saw, they had him on VH1 for 100 Most Metal Moments.

toggletoggle post by DomesticTerror at Oct 27,2005 5:16pm
One summer MTV had "Blocks" of videos. Headbangers Ball had a death block with Death, Napalm Death, and I think Morbid Angel. It was great!
who hosted it before Rachtman? I forget his name, but i've got some on tape somewhere...

kind of unrelated, but have you ever seen the 100 most unmetal moments? they said bruce dickinson was unmetal for fencing. i honestly cant think of anything more metal than fencing. and then they show zakk wylde, the king of unmetal talking about it as well. lame.

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Oct 27,2005 5:25pm
most of that Metal Moments were hair bands anyways.
Blah

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 27,2005 5:26pm
and Europe's "The Final Countdown" was the number 1 most unmetal moment...nigga please!

toggletoggle post by retzam at Oct 27,2005 6:07pm
I was semi-disappointed in The Most Metal Moments. It annoyed me how lots of it was hair metal and shit and how tons of it seemed way off in terms of order, namely Stars being the number 1 most metal moment. I'm saying "semi" disappointed because all in all I found it pretty entertaining. I imagine that their would be more inclusions on the "unmetal" list that piss me off than their are exclusions on the metal list that piss me off.

Bruce Dickenson wrote a novel?! I wanna read that!!!

toggletoggle post by retzam at Oct 27,2005 7:58pm
And just as a suspected, that list is filled with shit that doesn't belong there. I can't think of anyone better to win the first metal grammy than Jethro Tull, besides maybe Sabbath. When Aqualung came out, that WAS metal.

toggletoggle post by retzam at Oct 27,2005 8:00pm
And metal orchestras are very very metal. Anyone who has ever heard a Rhapsody album can tell you that.

Adam Curry hosted the daytime/afterschool shows. they went back and forth between "Hard 30" and "Hard 60." He may have done some Headbanger's Ball early on, too...

What band was Ricky Rachman in . I don't remember him playing in any
Metal band. Why on VH1 does he alway say" WE" like he was in a band. He keeps refering himself and like he was ever in a metal band that did
anything. Ricky Rachman and we is not we. RICKY WAS NEVER ROCKING IN A BAND SO RICKY WHEN ALL THE BAND ARE TALKING ABOUT THERE LIFE YOU ARE NOT INCLUDED . WE IS FOR PEOPLE THAT WERE IN A BAND NOT DJ THAT WERE FRIENDS WITH THE BAND.
