toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 12:22am
it's like 10 minutes from my place.

toggletoggle post by Jonah nli at Oct 2,2005 12:33am
thats cool. I'm meeting matt stabber before the show and i guess he lives 10 minutes from the venue too. maybe you guys are neighbors!

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 12:48am
or live 20 minutes away from each other

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 12:57am
wow, hey brian, I have a math question for you about trains

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 12:58am
shit...I'm tragically a math major...no matter how sarcastic you're being

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 1:01am
and if you think of the whole 10 minutes away thing in terms of a circle of points that are 10 minutes away, 20 minutes is actually the difference between two locations that are equidistant to another point...as long as you throw out practical concerns like traffic, routes, and other sorts of things like that

so rev could be within a range of 0 to 20 minutes away from your friend, jonah.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 1:03am
as long as NH houses no practice concerns whatsoever...and I'll believe that after visiting Lake Winnipesaukee during my childhood (a time in which the world practical means nothing...or the null set)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 1:03am
I was on class short of a math minor.
I took calc 1&2, prob stats, descrete, some crappy intro class,
and a higher level theory class.
the thereom class was great cause the teachers old and once said "so you can say 'not I have a hot dog' or 'I not have a hot dog' or the every more popular way these days 'I have the hot dog, not'"
I wanted to tell the guy that I was like 12 when bill and teds came out.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 1:04am
you are a null set.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 1:05am
hardest thing I ever experienced was my Contemporary Abstract Algebra final

I'll never be able to compare it to childbirth...sucks.

that's true.

the world is an absence. dude, that's totally a sweet metalcore song title or album title or something to say at the mall for no reason.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 1:09am
I had an advanced theoretical programming class. the tests were take home. you had 20 hours to get the test back to the teacher (the final was 23 hours). you got to use anything in your means to answer the questions besides other kids in the class. I would work down to the minute with only a couple 10 minute long breaks. now that sucked

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 1:10am
dude the interection of you and the set of real numbers is a null set.
*mind blown*

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 1:15am
fuck I have no intersection with any real number...that's dumbfounding!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 1:24am
change your name to brian_dci
ahaa

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 2,2005 1:25am

I got in for the 1st or 2nd song by minatory.
it's super hot in here.
I wonder why not wade today... wade, this is in dover. what is you excuse?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 6:37pm
minatory: they sounded a lot like a lot of the pop-punk stuff that is out there. It sounded fun and all, but not my cup of tea. I would say they were somewhere between disturbed and the alcoline trio. They also did an alcoline trio song.

shanghai valentine: I'm pretty sure they started with the sing along anthem that they typically reserve for their last song. I was the only one mouthing along to the chorus. After that, they asked every one to come up to the front. Out of the 60 people in the room, only a handful did, lame. I thought it was cool that they played a never before played live song just for us. Sv is a great band too. Its funny old school drunk punk. A lot of it reminds me of the bruisers. It would have been fun if they played that bruisers reunion show. The definitely would have fit the bill. The drummer has a weird way of drumming. He looked like an octopus, playing all over the kit (like mark- the heuristic), but was incredibly tight. After seeing them last at literacy fest, people standing and just watching them is not their audience.

network, the: hm.. It was weird them going on now. I would have figure that they would have gone on near the end. This place has a ton of new lights and the person runnig the lights was definitly more in tuned with the bands playing. They had the pefect lights working at the perfect times during their set. The vocals sounded really different for them. Not scott's but pete's. I though it was just going to be for the first song, but then the second was the same. It was a lot more intellegable and squaky. Also, the whole time I was waiting for something to explode on stage, but they were pretty subdued. I think they were just being on their best behavior so as not to anger the sound guy (again).

and then there were none: it's been a wicked long time since I've seen these guys. I think they had a different singer and the current singer was a guitar player. They started up and it was like our own little as I lay dying. Even their old stuff is a lot less melodic and more breakdowns/tough guy. I was impressed by how much fuller their sound is now. the darken the sky drummer plays for them, which I knew before but forgot. They had a huge crowd in the front for them. Finally, all the sitters got up to dance for them. their sound was insanely large and loud this time, I guess they are trying hard and stuff. they added another guitar player very recently.

over the top: well, this is the first time that I get to see them with out geisel. and like all the other times, I took way too many pictures of them. The were the first band that tons of people sat up on the stage crew style for. They played tight though. For some reason, rob g (bordersauce) looked like he was thinking really hard the whole time. right at the end of their set, there was some dumb fight, twice. I think one of the two owners of the club and some 17 year old kid. it got ended really quickly though. besides that, the club was opened up back to front with a pit most of the time.

backstabbers inc: simply awesome. once again, they wowed me with their set. its funny cause you cna totally hear jonah's drumming in the first 3-5 songs. after that, it's meshed together to a more normal bsi sound.for the most part, people stood around listening and not dancing, but there were times were people moved around. whatever the case, it ruled.

toggletoggle post by boobtoucher  at Oct 3,2005 11:24am
Thanks to everyone for coming out. Fortunately, I missed the "fight." Other than that, it was an awesome night. BSI are seriously so fucking amazing. They're like a fast Neurosis. Just really, really devastating. I feel bad for Matt and Brian because it seems like they spend all their time showing new members their material. Damn, just GOD DAMN.

toggletoggle post by HITD at Oct 3,2005 3:38pm
thanks to anyone that came out for this show! OTT appreciates any kind of support. all the bands played awesome sets! it's nice to have a show where not all the bands sound the same. sorry about the scuffle during our set, shit was waaaaack. and thanks rev for taking a bajillion pics of us! haha you're the best man.. even though you hate on my style ;)

i couldnt agree more.

I'm not used to playing clubs, but this was a good time! I'm glad people are giving bsi a chance even without a "lead" singer

I missed most of over the top cause I was setting up my drums, but it sounded pretty rad
