DISSECTOR - zombie grind trio
HATCHET - north shore death

I could be convinced to play some of the new (unmixed) Kevorkian's Angels between bands |
haha nice description. I, for one, find nothing more joyful than helping the unfortunate. God bless us all. |
joe, i hope you are posting this on EVERY MESSAGE BOARD with new england people on it! |
nice, someone finally thought of the children. |
I'd like to go but I'm pretty hurting from last night. I'm going to try to get there though. I busted through on Will taking a shit last night baaahahah...he recognized me from the many other times I've seen Mortician/bought shit from him at shows so we were both able to have a good laugh about it afterwards... |
I'll be accepting donations to raise money for Nate's legal expenses for the fraudulent lawsuit and moving costs at the show tonight. |
I'll be there. Load in's at 7? |
I am dropping my load at 7. |
Dissector said: I'll be there. Load in's at 7? |
yes damnit |
anyone that was going to this before the *sigh* drama and decided not to go to this cause of the drama is a moron.
if you were going to go to this show, go still. otherwise, you are dumb and just giving in to the commies.
If you weren't going to this show and you decided to go just because of the drama... well.. you are either sadistic or emo. you pick. |
I was ironically offered a slot on Dissector's guestlist right when the drama hit a fever pitch. |
it's win-win for you I see. |
if i go i might do a song with them. how gay is that |
Everyone should go, Mortician and everyone else is not involved with it so it's no reason to not go. Sadly I will not be attending. |

Nobody puts Baby in the corner. |
doug: if you do solace, fisting, or iconoclast, that would rule... DUAL VOCAL ATTACK! |
Art of Fisting gets my vote. |
I always wanted Solace to be a dual vocal song but sadly it couldn't happen. |
oh yes it can!
only you, sir, can make it happen! |
broke as a joke. i would be there if only... |
Joe, i said i was "considering boycotting BOE shows." haven't made up my mind yet, but if it's gonna have a negative effect on me or my bands, i guess i'll have to put principle aside. I'm basically wary of knowingly attending the same show as 80's metal chick. It won't be good. I have absolutely no problem with the band, and notcommon isn't even a part of the equation.
before any of this drama, i had no intention of attending this show. I'm near broke, and had to choose between tonight (i don't care for mortician, and i just saw BOE 6 days ago) or saturday's show. i had chosen Saturday's show days ago. |
scott, you fruity fucking bastard.
I'm at the show now and I got rock star parking... I'm listening to 89.9 and it snoop doggy dogg real loud! |
hatchet: wtf! How could this band stay hidden? very brutal stuff. It could easily be on united gutteral. Some of the guitar and bass work reminded me of cattle decapitation, but mostly, I was thinking litergy. It wasn't as wide or deep sound, but similar. I think with a second guitarist for in studio, they would be on that label in a second. People in the crowd got free shirts and stuff. Definitly and awesome band for people to put on their shows. thank you joe for introducing us to this band |
Just got home late after we drove some girl back to her college and got lost. Anyway thanks for having us on this show Joe! The bands all crushed, BOE sounds great with the 2 guitarists! |
Sorry I missed it. I am a rotten person. |
What drama? I missed something |

Hatchet's a fairly new band, they practice downstairs from us. I've known the singer and bassist for almost 10 years now, both really awsome guys. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing them live at a show, but I've hung out at a couple of their practices. great shit
I'm pissed I couldn't make it last night, too much fucking homework to do. Really pissed at myself. |
i had a good time, but had to leave after dissector because i thought i was working today, but apparently i'm not.
anywho, thanks dissector for guestlisting me, you guys slayed.
thanks aaron for the directions home.
and thanks to that stupid cunt who pulled out in front of me and almost made me t-bone her. good times... |
It was a good time, thanks to everyone who came, especially Mike and McCracken for saving my ass! |
Fun show, yo. My ears are fucked from going to two shows in a row. But it's cool, I got free shit. |
Hatchet: I really dug these guys musicially. I just can't stand it when bands grunt their song titles. But their actual shit was rad.
Dissector: We didn't do so well. I couldn't hear anything in the monitors and my left side to the kick pedal busted because a screw got stripped.
Bane of Existence: THeir new line up is amazing. Probably the best set I've seen of them. No disrespect to the old line up but this was killer.
Mortician: Same thing with grunted the song titles. I couldn't tell any of the songs they played except Bodily Dismemberment. They were good though. |
You know what? I actually told Jeff (Hatchet) the same thing! I told him in the future to actually speak out the song titles. We had a whole intro to go along with 'Cunts on a Campfire (The Massacre of Girl Scout Troop #616)' and he just grunted it out so even I couldn't understand it and I was right next to him!
You guys did fine. Are you into stuff like Impetigo? |

hells yes.
and we covered veneral warts |

I always cover mine |

dissector: they played really good, but I couldn't hear their witty banter between their songs. I'm not sure what was up with that. Their was also a total lack of zombie mosh. It's funny, I remember them being wicked young. Now, they are just kind of young, then young, finally they just will be jaded old dudes. I forget if they are or are not on the exhumed show or not, but I seriously hope so.
bane of existence: dispite all the drama with MSD getting pissed of at my repeated "gay" and "tictac" jokes. the set sounded aweome on that stage. I think that jim's and chris's .guitar was a little quiet in the mix, but the vocals, drums, and bass were perfect. The set was short and over too quickly.. |
mortician: their sound was ok, but not the best until zombie apocalypse. That's when the guitar player found the guitar mic was all twisted and not on his cab at all. They had all the samples too. When they figured out the issue with the cab mic, they totally sounded awesome. |
Thank you. And I'll never get tired of the gay tictac jokes. |

translation = "no disrespect to Doug."
It's cool. None taken.
I was always too busy demanding things anyways. |

No, unfortunately we're not. Sin of Angels and Grief though, that's an amazing show. |

I think you're vocals are insane. I love them, and I'm not just kissing ass. I was talking more about musicially with their new guitarist. It seemed more intense. I couldn't really hear the vocals too well from where I was standing.
Hatchet: Apparently I got to the show right after they finished. I was fucking bummed as I was planning to book these guys soon-ish.
Dissector: They were off due to Mike liking to fuck around. They ended their set with "Nutsack" and Mike trashed his drums and lost a shoe. It was awesome.
Bane of Existence: The new lineup is badass, but I dug Doug's vocals better. I love watching Mike play drums, because it looks like he isn't playing anything real.
Mortician: Will Rahmer is a cyborg that does blow. They were killer.
I think the two new members make it more "intense" cause there are 2 of them and they head bang non-stop. if only one had joined, it would be that intense. imho.
I reviewed the differences in doug/dusty vox on the goodtimes show. they are both completely different. it would actually be awesome to guest doug on the new CD....dusty's got a betterrange between lows and his, but hid midrange to lows aren't as good as dougs, plus, he doesn't have the "dry scream" where you can actually hear the words being released. dusty buries all descernable lyrics in his brutal lows. just like goratory does... or accephelus did (go figure).
in the end, its pointless to say who's better. like asking "do you like apples or oranges better (circle one)
yes
no" |
Doug sounds alot angrier then Dusty |
In all honesty, when I wrote the lyrics for the songs I had a certain vocal sound in mind (say the ending of Solace), sometimes I got it right sometimes I did it. When I saw BoE at Goodtimes hearing Dusty sing I was actually proud to hear the songs I wrote with parts being sung the way I intended. Basically I tried to write lyrics that fit my range but had hopes to get better and deeper but ultimately couldn't and for the most part hearing a new spin on the vocals was pretty neat.
I wasn't looking to be compared. that wasn't my intention when I replied to Dissector's post. It's just I never received any honest constructive feedback from fans when I was in the band and now all of a sudden all I read is killer new line up or sound's so much sicker. Whatever. It really is no big deal. Sorry for the emo moment.
On a related note though, Dusty perhaps already hates me enough because of a lie that was supposedly told to him about me by a certain board favorite. It's pretty funny in a twisted kind of way. I just want to clear it up with him personally but no one will give him my number. If he had the internet he'd be able to read what the truth was only about 34 posts up from this one. |

I didn't notice so much of a change in vocals as I did with guitars, BoE simply sounds much more crushing with the two guitars. |
hm... let me find that thread where I said that boe should have a second guitarist.. (I'm not really going to look for it) |

If you trace the Rev's lineage back, you will find Orson Welles. And before that, Nostradameus himself. |
